Unbelievable and simply UNACCEPTABLE for STEP users to be running around without this mod!

 

 

I simply hadn't realize this wasn't part of STEP, otherwise I'd have pointed it out long ago, I've been using this since forever!

I thought it already was. I know its been part of tpc for quite some time, and Step tends to mirror those sorts of things. Though personally I think I like the overall effects of No Steaming Ash Piles (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32950/?) more.

You can use them together, NSAP is a mesh replacer, this is a texture.

I don't have any effects folder! What the heck is going on?! Who ninja'd my RCI installation?

I didn't realize one was meshes and one was textures, I will need to see how they work together now as I really don't like the "steam" effect and personally prefer the orange "glow" to the blue one.

 

TPC is the Texture Pack Combiner (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/20801/?), which is old and out of date and has now been replaced by SMC (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51467/?).

I'm not really sure this mod is better. It doesn't quite look like ash to me, and it is much different from vanilla, which doesn't look too horrible to me:

I really hope that's the texture from RCI (I can't be totally sure since it's so dark) cause otherwise exactly what the heck are you talking about DY?! 

 

Anyway, I re-downloaded RCI and you know, I like it. I don't think one is better than the other, just different. Still, I think I like this mod a little bettah.

Sorry, it was RCI. I had no idea that was RCI. I thought it was HRDLC. That being said, I like RCI better.

The 3rd image, I see a mix of hay, rocks, and frozen wood, but no ash whatsoever.

Yeah, I'm not sure what I'm looking at but I just don't see ash.

Fairly certain you are thinking ash as in something was burned like wood. In which case that would be off. The original looks like someone took a jellyfish and steped on it. The 2nd looks like someone added salt on top of it after stepping on it, and the last actually looks like it was once upon a time not a jellyfish!
