Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDOLOD

Finally I can see my house from here

What is this?

DynDOLOD is a set of tools based on TES5Edit and TES5LODGen to automatically create a Skyrim mod based on the load order which adds distant LOD for objects to Skyrim. By combining DynDOLOD with TES5LODGen users can create drastically enhanced traditional static LOD plus tree LOD and the new, optional dynamic distant object LOD in a few 'simple' steps.

DynDOLOD is meant for enthusiast modders who are familiar with using TES5Edit. Enthusiast modders have a general knowledge of computers, folders and files, especially Skyrims 'Data' folders and how to install mods safely with a manager or manually.

To fully expand the visual experience and use the additional features offered by TES5LODGen the DynDOLOD package comes with over 1000 new or updated LOD models for objects that were badly missing from the original game like the Skyhaven Temple or landscape features like roads, smaller rocks and dirt cliffs that simply make the distant landscape look much more natural and alive.

What does it do?

It makes Skyrim look like this

No stutter and it is using the improved static LOD from LODGen. Great, problem solved then :;):

So it seems the extra files can cause a problem... Interesting.

Oooops. Sry, I was wrong and tired. :/

I forgotten to unhide the hidden folder from DynDOLOD. So now I've done it and right after I enable that 170 *.bto file I get stuttering.

:///

So, I still have the same issue after all them stuff. :/

In conclusion, after all that things, etc... do only solution for me without stutter is just hide that 170 *.bto files from DynDOLOD World. I guess this means, I could leave DynDOLOD enabled when I am at Falskaar, but I won't get High Settings LOD just normal, or something like that, but without issue.

I am getting to tired, so I guess I can live and I will without that visual improvment if I won't have any other problem. Stuttering is killing me, but without Higher LOD I can live.

I really don't have any idea what's going on my side. The last thing I could the, that I created a "mod" from that 170 *.bto files from DynDOLOD Worlds. Hidden that 170 files under DynDOLOD, enabled that "Object" mod. The conflicted ones left SkyFalls, so I hidden its conflicted files. Enabled my new mod (170 bto files) there's no conflict now, loaded save game at Falskaar and stuttering happens the same way.

When I disable that 170 bto files, everything works well. I mean my games runs smooth, without any stuttering at all.

What's wrong if I play, use DynDOLOD like that without that 170 bto files?

At this moment I do not experience any issue, any wrong textures, etc...

I don't know how can these 170 bto files "kill" my gameplay at Falskaar, but they did. I can live without correct DynDOLOD at Falskaar, but I just can't play with stuttering. So, I am disappointed at this moment. And no idea what to do. :(

Yes, if we can't figure out this one, simply hide the objects folder and use the default static LOD with the dynamic and tree LOD generated by DynDOLOD World.pas.

There is 2 more things you can try:

1) Get this zip file https://mega.nz/#!QVZSmK4R!1P-88ttfkCunc-yNJxd7UZOrl3dPbXTSeaVEJxErB4s and unpack this into a mod (might as well use the DynDOLOD mod)

LODSettings\Falskaar.lod

if you still have the loose Falskaar files unpacked from the BSA you already have the same file, different content though - it needs to be overwritten

Start the game with the terrain/object/*.bto from LODGen unhidden see if there is a change.

If there is no change delete it again.

2) Open DynDOLOD.esp that has Falskaar data in it in TES5Edit. Go to the Falskaar world record

Find the rows for Object Bounds / NAM0 - Min/Max X/Y, it says -32.0000 -32.0000, 32.000, 32.000

In the DynDOLOD.esp column to the far right, right click those numbers, choose edit, and change the values to -64, -64, 64, 64

Then save the updated DynDOLOD.esp and start the game with the terrain/object/*.bto from LODGen unhidden see if there is a change.

1.) Downloaded that file

2.) Done BackUp and after overwritten Falskaar.lod (of course I still have the BSA file version)

3.) "Hide" Falskaar.bsa and instead enabled BSA version with the new LOD file

4.) Unhide the 170 bto files from DynDOLOD and load my savegame.

Sadly stuttering remained. :/

Now, I will change these changes back and after see the 2nd version.

2nd version:

I've done everything as you described, but sadly the same.

Stuttering still remained. :/

I have no idea, what the f* is on my side and the other guy who also noticed that issue, but believe me Falskaar stutters with those 170 bto files very-very annoying.

izkvX11.jpg

2YshvGq.jpg

End Yes saved DynDOLOD.esp

The only solution is without stuttering at this moment just to hide those 170 *.bto files under World files.

Checked it again. Smooth.

After all. Could you describe what does this mean?

"Yes, if we can't figure out this one, simply hide the objects folder and use the default static LOD with the dynamic and tree LOD generated by DynDOLOD World.pas."

What is(are) the difference? Visual? File sizes or what?

Thanks!

Heya guys. I just updated to 1.43 of DynDOLOD, and the script for "DynDOLOD Worlds.pas" is not showing up in my apply script drop down.

I noticed, when looking at the file structure while installing via MO that there isn't an "edit scripts" folder in the base data folder.

The source of your problem is pretty obvious to me. For whatever reason, DynDOLOD modified the NAM0 and NAM9 records related to Falskaar, as a result, DYNDOLOD increased the size of Falskaar worldspace. Therefore, it requires more VRAM to load Falskaar (bigger worldspace = more textures to load), hence your stutters.

No DynDOLOD doesn't modify the records as the first screenshot shows.

Draw distance and use of VRAM have no correlation to these settings.

The problem in Falskaar was also reported to happen when just using the generated static LOD *.bto from TES5LODGen with no esp.

OK lets try if we can narrow this down a bit.

Hide the DynDOLOD.esp, hide the folders skse\ and Meshes\Terrain\Falskaar\Trees\ and Textures. Since textures are disabled things will be blue-ish.

Just start the game with only the 170 *.bto files in Meshes\Terrain\Falskaar\Objects\*.bto

Any change?

No change, unhide the textures since they are not the cause. You know how there are 3 groups of *.bto files: Falskaar.4..., Falskaar.8..., Falskaar.16...

Start game with only one group, like only the file that start with Falskaar.4..., move all the other to another temp folder somewhere else.

Try each group once see what happens.

"Morning"! :)

First, I am a little bit tired, so please forgive me, that at this time I do not load screens for things I am sure. And understand everything you wrote.

"Hide the DynDOLOD.esp,

Done

Done

and Meshes\Terrain\Falskaar\Trees\

Done

and Textures.

Done

Right! Looked very sexy. :)

Done

Any change?

Sry, nothing. Stuttering as usual with the 170 bot files enabled.

I'll continue with the 2nd part of post.

Ps:

Shurah: really appreciate your support as well!

"No change, unhide the textures since they are not the cause."

I guess I have tried withou you lot's of things and I guess that one also.

At this point what about SKSE?

I left it hide.

"No change, unhide the textures since they are not the cause. You know how there are 3 groups of *.bto files: Falskaar.4..., Falskaar.8..., Falskaar.16...

1.)

Falskaar.4..., --> enabled

Falskaar.8..., Falskaar.16... --> hide

No stuttering at all!

2.)

Falskaar.4..., --> hide

Falskaar.8..., --> enabled

Falskaar.16... --> hide

No stuttering at all!

3.)

Falskaar.4..., --> hide

Falskaar.8..., --> hide

Falskaar.16... --> enabled

I expected stuttering, to be honest no. Or just a little bit, but could be placebo. But I'm sure not what I notice when I enable all of them together.

Maybe some kind of combination?

1.)

Falskaar.4..., --> hidden

Falskaar.8..., --> enabled

Falskaar.16... --> enabled

Smooth!

2.)

Falskaar.4..., --> enabled

Falskaar.8..., --> enabled

Falskaar.16... --> hidden

Smooth!

3.)

Falskaar.4..., --> enabled

Falskaar.8..., --> hidden

Falskaar.16... --> enabled

Smooth!

Enabled all of them 170 bto files. DynDOLOD hidden SKSE hidden.

Stuttering as usual.

At this point I need a brake! :(

But of course the minimum I do every (I am tryting to do) all you suggest to solve that issue. But a bit frustrating at this moment...

I'll have to do some housework. In the meantime I will run the whole DynDOLOD process again. Because I have no other idea. :)

For game play I would use 4 and 8 and just hide 16 then.

Can you verify the tests if you just load the bare minimum of mods? Skyrim and Falskaar?

Are you loading an existing save game or start a new one?

You tried default inis right?

What? I'm talking about second screenshot. You can see that DynDOLOD has modified these values for no apparent reasons.

The reason is, Sheson suggeted those values. ;)

I made those settings by manually.
