Question

Posted (edited)

IP Boards has a nice ability to 'disambiguate' the plethora of acronyms that we use at STEP (simply place the cursor over an acronym to see what it translates to in real language). If you DO NOT see the translation on mouse hover, then the acronym is not yet defined.

While we have added many of the most common:
AFAIK
IIRC
SRO ...

Many are probably still needed, so please post here if there are any that you think should be added or post if there are issues with existing acronym conversions.

- STEP

Well, only the one - the SMIM acronym currently reads "Skyrim Mesh Improvement Mod (mod)". Not only is the actual name of the mod "Static Mesh Improvement Mod", the (mod) tag is redundant because the acryonym expands to include "mod".

Also, EBQO (which I use frequently when referring to Even Better Quest Objectives) and REGS (Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim, also frequently used now) should be listed in the acronym lists.

Just noticed that acronyms still show-up in "code" like so :

STEP

Not a big issue, but if there is an easy setting to turn that off, it'd make the forum slightly better than it already is :)

SKGE : Skyrim Graphics Extender

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75954/?

Could probably add OBGE as well if that's not already in the book.

Edit: It's not ^_^ OBGE : Oblivion Graphics Extender

Nota : I just verified that this is actually the proper signification of the acronym. I was hesitating between "Extender" and "Enhancer". Source : Article about OBGE on Nexus https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/articles/44181/?

Added both.

Nb. both are added as case-sensitive, which can be changed if needed. I'm a bit of a stickler for those sort of things but others may feel I'm too restrictive.

LotD is "Legacy of the Dragonborn".

Gah! Every time I see this I my mind immediately goes to legend instead of legacy for some reason. I swear I'll drill legacy into my brain one way or another. :-)

MLUS - Morroloot Ultimate Simplified

The mod author has it as MUS on the mod page.
