Question

Posted (edited)

IP Boards has a nice ability to 'disambiguate' the plethora of acronyms that we use at STEP (simply place the cursor over an acronym to see what it translates to in real language). If you DO NOT see the translation on mouse hover, then the acronym is not yet defined.

While we have added many of the most common:
AFAIK
IIRC
SRO ...

Many are probably still needed, so please post here if there are any that you think should be added or post if there are issues with existing acronym conversions.

Well, only the one - the SMIM acronym currently reads "Skyrim Mesh Improvement Mod (mod)". Not only is the actual name of the mod "Static Mesh Improvement Mod", the (mod) tag is redundant because the acryonym expands to include "mod".

Also, EBQO (which I use frequently when referring to Even Better Quest Objectives) and REGS (Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim, also frequently used now) should be listed in the acronym lists.

EFF - Extensible Follower Framework

Some guy (the orangutan avatar person) just asked what it meant.  ;)

Added

USLEEP = Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch

UHFP = Unofficial Hearthfire Patch

USLEEP - added (why two E's? That really doesn't make sense.)

UHFP - We have it as UHP. Added the other just in case someone does it differently with the added F.

Also added UP and UPs while I was at it.

I think it's Unofficial Skyrim LEgendary Edition Patch. But, USKLP seems better.

Yes, and it should be : USLP ... and UHFP makes sense, since we have UDBP and UDGP, which are otherwise ambiguous. (but the UP team is not so efficient with patch nomenclature: USkP, UDgP, UHfP, UDbP, USLP are the most efficient ... collectively called the "USPs")

UESP - added

UESP conflates further with the USPs though

I just added ICBINE4 == I Can't Believe Its Not ENB version 4, since there was a couple of posts about its meaning, but for some reason I can't see it triggering in the forum.

Bam! And there you go, as soon as I wrote this post it worked. Magic.

Ahh, so this only applies to newly added or edited posts? It isn't retroactive? Going back through the forum to see if it applies I notice it only comes up if I enter 'Edit' and save the old posts.
