z929669 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 STEP needs a better female body that works without all of the need for specialized armor and clothing meshes to accommodate un-vanilla alterations of body meshes that exist in other female body mods (which is shy STEP never included any). This is a vanilla-compatible female mesh replacement with improvements and similar poly count meshes. Come sin both underwear and nude versions (STEP will recommend underwear version). WARNING: The Nexus page is NSFW, but in a relatively 'tame' way (i.e., not a bunch of semi-porn pics and videos) Grab the file directly from this SFW link to avoid needing to load up the NSFW page. MSxyz created clean skin textures that also works for the non-nude version of this mod. Let's determine if this is really better than vanilla.
Spock Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I like it a lot. It's the most realistic body mod I've seen yet. Personally I don't think there is a no nudity recommendation needed, people will decide on their own anyway. Come sin[...]A Freudian slip? ;) (sorry I just couldn't resist with all those big red nudity warnings...)
z929669 Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 True, but we want to lead our followers down the SFW path. They can diverge as they like after we point ;)
torminater Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 A tiny bit heavy on the breasts for my taste (easily D-cups), but certainly better than other body overhauls. -> mesh wise, not texture wise.
tizgrilo Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 In what order should I put this in a STEP installation? After Xenious XCE files?
z929669 Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 This should not conflict with any other mod, since STEP does not have any female body replacers, so it should go alphabetically ("Better Female Natural Body") into section H. Clean skin textures should go after if using.
kryptopyr Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Eh, I don't see where this is an improvement over vanilla. The bodies look very similar in the comparison image with the exception of the breasts, which are too large and seem to be ignoring gravity, and the underwear (the loin cloth/thong thing is weird). Admittedly, I have not tried it in game, but nothing in the images really inspires me to want to.
torminater Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Kryptopyr are you using any other body replacer for women in the game? We have to consider other possibilities as well.
kryptopyr Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I'm not currently, but when I start a new game I plan to try CNHF by calyps. I've been following it for quite a while, and it's the first female body replacer that I've seen that actually looks realistic to me and also feels appropriate for Skyrim. And I love the armor conversions. If STEP is avoiding armor conversions, then this isn't going to be a mod for STEP. But, honestly, the armor conversions by themselves are such a massive improvement over the vanilla female armors that I almost see them as a bug fix. I do think CNHF might eventually make a good candidate for STEP, but in it's present state, I don't think it's finished enough for STEP to recommend it.
Dshoru Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Had the same thought process as kryptopyr: "This is just vanilla with bigger boobs." Assuming this was meant for core: In my opinion mods like this have nothing to do with core step. Core step should only consist of basic mods EVERY other pack/module agrees on. Even the lore-unfriendlier ones.
z929669 Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 Yep. We want max compatible for STEP without mucking with conversions ( unless they are simple and complete). I'd like to see a female body vanilla hi- poly-count mesh improvement with smaller breasts. There is none though. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
rootsrat Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Yeah, I would like to see that as well, for both males and females. And some nice skin texture, kind of bored with XCE.
Genius384 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Looks like a disproportional barbie doll, to be honest. I don't mind the default bodies, they aren't nearly as bad as Oblivion or Fallout's were.
Trexasle Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 The Default Bodies are fine, But we should try to use a Skin that is Universal to whatever Body type that we are using, WHILE AT THE SAME TIME, being Lore Friendly and appealing to look at. HOWEVER, The body should be in the choice of the player.
Noobsayer Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I posted this in rootsrat's thread in the Skyrim section, but imo for compatibility body texture, True Daughters of Skyrim is a good one. Has Vanilla, UNP, and CBBE versions. Male version in production. EDIT: And I'm not a big fan of the top-heavy look of this replacer, either. Then again, I suspect I'm not the target audience for bigger bewbage. :P
