Oh ok. Sorry to bring that up here then. There is no BCF equivalent for MO? (I've been using Wrye Bash this entire time since it's just familiar).

You can disable files by rightclicking on them on plugin's filetree tab, but this is manual process.

@SRB

Thanks again for all the great compares!

This one is very simple for me:

Telvanni Reborn wins in almost all cases except for a few of the HRDLC versions. SRTO is way too much a deviation. I will venture that all of their textures will be too 'experimental' for STEP.

TR it is I think. We may want to opt for keeping a few of the HRDLC though.

SRB, do you want to pick which HRDLC should be retained over TR and we can add the notes to the mod page (if it even exists ... create it if you want and add your recommendations for excluding certain textures from the MO mods folder.

Telvanni Reborn textures are not new textures. I opened them up in Paint.NET to take a look and they are the same as HRDLC, but sharpened up a bit. I'd say just use Telvanni Reborn for all the textures it adds based on that alone. Even if it isn't an improvement over HRDLC, it is exactly the same. Just look at the big mushrooms, I couldn't tell the difference in my screens so I didn't even post them.

The only thing from SRTO that was better to me was the temple walls and stairs, but why add a  mod to STEP for 2 or 3 textures? Where SRTO stands out is the landscape screens I took for ash and stones.

I personally edited the SRTO Dragonborn file to ONLY include just that one stairs texture (and normal). I have to agree with DoubleYou in this case. If a crappy texture pack has strong points, those strong points should be utilized. At least for a simplified case such as my example. If you're combining specific textures from 3 different packs, then yea, it can get messy. Maybe we could put together some sort of combiner and host it with all two/three? author's permissions.

Problem is stylistic consistency though. Same texture artist usually has similar style and consistent results. Not always though.

Anyone care to test texture mixing in game, picking best of each and showing the results?
