I don't really have a problem with the quality of the voice acting. Frankly even if poorly done it's better than many mods with silent voices, and I generally like the quality plus the variety of voices/accents, etc. in the mod. (Maybe I just like weird or bad accents as they sound exotic and make the characters memorable.)

I first started using it to get more NPCs into the game - Skyrim just seems to empty and I liked it for that reason. Also some of the followers were really good - several had interesting quirks or entertaining things to say while adventuring. I never really bothered with the mod's quests AFAIK - I may have done a few that I stumbled into.

The drawbacks were that after you have used it a bit the very in depth back stories that these NPCs talk about just seem boring - for the most part the don't really affect the game. There were a few useful NPCs like the Smith in Morthal, etc. as well as followers. I also wonder how stable the game is with this mod - about 6 -9 months ago I had horrible issues where I could not exit Markarth with this mod activated. Pus there's the possible issue with TES5Snip.

The fact that it''s always a WIP without a polished or finished product is a bit off-putting - there always seem to be dangling ends - or at least that's what I perceive.

Overall it's well done and fun to use for one or two play-throughs. Currently I use Inconsequential NPCs and Immersive patrols to populate Skyrim and a few follower mods to add interesting followers.

I think that sounds about right, there's a lot of background for very little reason. It's important not to be afraid to bail on someone you find boring.

Definitely going to check out those other mods you mentioned, thanks.

I was using Immersive Patrols for ages now and I can't recommend it enough, it's an awesome mod. Inconsequential NPC only been in my playthrough for a while and I didn't get a chance to fully experience it yet, but it's looking good so far. I can also recommend Travelers of Skyrim -it plays along nicely with the two above ones, and its both error and script free.

I tried this mod but uninstalled it almost as fast as it was installed. Maybe i am a little too OCD/picky, but the sound recording on the first (and last) five npcs i spoke to was terrible. its either too loud or it has static/distortion/background noise. I dont like when i encounter a modded part of the game that basically shouts "hey! im a mod, not supposed to be here, and not part of the original game". For me, the mods i use need to feel like they were meant to be there from the beginning. This mod, unfortunately, does the exact opposite. It is unfortunate too, because I was really looking forward to trying it out and I know the authors have put a ton of work and effort into it. I just couldnt overlook the non-integrated feeling it gave me.

I agree with you.  I tried it out for about 3 hours and just couldn't deal with the bad recording quality and out of place NPCs.  Some more work is needed before this becomes a "must have" mod.

I opened this and RLO, Climates of Tamriel and all DLCs and found out there are numerous conflicts with RLO and DLCs.

Worldspace conflicts are mostly mismatched Editor IDs and stuff, easily fixed.

I am wondering what to do about NavMesh and XNDP - Navigation Door Link entries.

This is definitely the reason.  I really appreciated mods that included compatibility patches for it. Oddly ELFX does not seem to have nearly as many conflicts. I'm unclear if this is because it just does not adjust the lighting in nearly as many cells or if it is because it does so with a lighter touch.  The"no-taverns" version of ELFX helps reduce conflicts.

The development on Interesting NPCs seems to focus on adding more features (more NPCs, more dialog, quests, etc.) rather than integrating itself with other mods. Still given how sprawling it is it seems to work well with many other mods.

i agree with you on that point. When i referred to it not being integrated I meant more in terms of Skyrim itself, not so much with other mods. But, it's neither here nor there ;)

It's also worth mentioning that over the past few months, Kris Takahashi has steadily been getting actors to re-record the poorer quality recorded dialogue, and has gone so far as to recast some characters completely.

Might be worth giving this one another look.

I appreciate the effort, and enjoy the ongoing project. The quality of individual voice overs varies, but it definitely improves on one of Skyrims weaker aspects. The re-recording of lower quality recordings is great news.

This is probably the best moment to tell people about the mod's blog.
