Pandora Behavior Engine+

I found the issue. Wrye Bash normally does not install exe files, so I did manually do that part, but apparently it also doesn't install a few of the other files in the mod either ... GongSolutions.WPF.DragDrop.dll also being one of those things. This matches the error windows reported.

Manually installing these things is far far from ideal, but it worked!

I have a question ... how do I recognize the files it outputs. I'd like to round those up and make a mod out of them so that they can be more easily managed. I see the pandora_Engine folder and the Nemesis one, but I am assuming that what it generates is animation files, so do those have a special name or extension? Is there a way to recognize them?

Is it possible to ask as a request an option to output the files anywhere else than the data folder?

thanks for considering and patience with me

Another question. In the window that pops up ... none of the options are auto selected, that is fine .. I can choose them, but are the XPMSE Patch for Pandora and the Pandora Base ... included in the mod?

thanks

I don't use MO2 or Vortex as well and I'm using WB since the release of Skyrim.

The only way to install this mod under WB is to follow these rules:

1. Install FNIS as intended

2. Install Nemesis as intended

3. Decompress manually Pandora.zip archive into skyrim data folder (7z recommended): <Skyrim>\Data

overwriting anything in the folders "Nemesis_Engine". You will have Pandora EXE (and dlls) in the folder <Skyrim>\Data

This is the natural way intended by the mod not using symlink/ virtual folders technique of Vortex/MO2.

It worked great for me for weeks, until I noticed a lag WB detection of files and one day I was  getting a system freeze every time I try to draw my bow using the "Eagle Eye" perk.I Never had anything like that for 10 years. From that day I reverted to use Nemesis only.

Bottom line:

1. Dont load too much animations in your system

2. The author target only Vortex/MO2 users (its quite clear from his installation description)

Are you saying that WB is quarantining/removing Pandora EXE/DLL? Or that WB doesn't 'see' them after some unknown event or lag time?

Installing Pandora into the game /Data directory should work for using WB (or no mod manager at all).

Correct.

Wrye was very concerned about installing binary executables (.exe files) into the game's data folders and that restriction carried over through about 60 updates to the present day. There is a discussion about removing it so this might not even be a thing by the end of 2024.  If that happens you can install tools like any other mod and they'll be bit-level hashed and tracked like any other mod.

Pandora dumps everything into the Data folder. Monitor144hz has technical reasons for doing this, mainly to work around some broken mods.  You'll have to manually unzip the archive into the Data folder, make a shortcut, then copy that shortcut into your \Mopy\apps folder.f

Hi there, trying to use Pandora as I couldn't get Nemesis working for the life of me. Completely removed it and installed Pandora in MO2 as per your instructions, but I'm getting a some strange behavior. Pandora shows all my mods but when I run it right after the preload it crashes without any messages. Reinstalled .NET 8, no luck. Any ideas?

Engine.log below.

Be sure you have all the prerequisites, or report your issue on their Github

If you use MO, install the application as a mod, and execute via MO. Create another empty mod for the output.

What you're using is v2.1.5 Alpha. The Issue is with v2.3.0 Beta.

This new UI hurts my eyes.

That's the new version, 2.3 beta. As I mentioned, it could be do an outdated dependency like .NETCoreApp v7.0 --> 8.0

Ah Thanks! I repaired NETCore to the latest version, as you suggested, but it didn't fix the issue. I went to the github page and found in a bug report that it is happening in Windows' Light Mode. I switched to Dark Mode and now it's legible. Dark Mode fixed it but that shouldn't be called a fix.

I have a problem with Pandora being too dark to see. Text is Black on Purple background, which really hurts the eyes.

Anyone know how to fix this? There's a bug report for it but nobody knows how to fix it.

Ah, I see. Well I rather not butcher my eyes by having my entire windows in Dark mode, and I can't find any way to turn just run this app into Dark Mode,  so I will just live with it for now. Thanks.

  1. IMPORTANT: This is what got me. The .exe you need to click (or add to your Vortex Dashboard) is NOT the one in the Vortex Mods/Skyrim folder. It's in the ACTUAL game Data directory, in my case, C:\Games\SteamLibrary2\SteamApps\common\SkyrimVR\Data

I'm glad I wrote this post, 'cause that was what was getting me again, reinstalling on a new PC. Luckily I vaguely remembered posting somewhere about it, and googling myself came through again. LOL
