New version, 1.2, removes body textures from the file and suggests using a new texture mod to accompany 'Coverkhajiits':

Terre's 4K Fur Textures for CoverKhajiits - Vanilla CBBE UNP BHUNP SoS HIMBO (Adult)

The OP was still linking to the LE version of this mod, so updated that. Please try the recommended textures and let us know what you think or maybe post some compares (vanilla > current Step > this mod + current Step > this mod + recommended body textures)

This gets more complicated because the body textures of the male version already are in part overwritten by 'Tempered Skins for Males' later in the guide.

It's just one specular texture so likely not a big deal.

Since the corresponding mod just updated i thought i'd post these, i'm not sure if they are of any help. i'd definitly need a camera mod to make more distinctive compares. It might be good to go with the author's suggestion to add her recommended separate fur textures ...

Agree that the last image looks best with those recommended fur textures.

@CorneliusC, Would you mind posting that Fur Textures mod topic if it isn't already posted? You can prefix with 'testing' and add 2.2.0 tag if you want. Also, you will want to link back to the key post here where you brought this up from that OP. May as well pick it up with this mod's update.
