DoYouEvenModBro Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Freezes when I shoot magic fire Garfink Skyrim Junkie Anonymous.Yup. That is the exact same thing that happens to me. Do you know if the medium res version fixes the issue?Â

I've installed it numerous times in Wrye Bash and it usually causes freezes when shooting a spell at the ground.Â
Garfink Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Medium, ddsopted low, no difference for me. Freeze city. Garfink Skyrim Junkie Anonymous.
Deathwing514 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Garfink, try to delete the esp and use the texture only. Considering the script seems to be the problem for the freezing, using the texture only should work without any problems.
Garfink Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Okay, I will try that. I too doubt that just the textures (optimized manually) would cause issues on its own. Thanks. Will report back on the results.
Deathwing514 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Sounds Good, Let me know if it fixes your problem.
DoYouEvenModBro Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I haven't tried the textures only but I can say with confidence that I am positive that this mod caused freezing. As soon as I uninstalled it, my freezes went away when shooting destruction spells.Â
Garfink Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I have tested the mod without the esp and it works fine! BUT I only kept the first 6 files in the directory, as the rest of the files will do nothing without the esp. I also used the low res version (which looks fine) and actually decrease the size the texture a little further. By default the low res version is 512/512 (texture/normals), I recommend 512/256.

Garfink Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 You don't use the DSI esp, from looking at the extra textures included in DSI that isn't vanilla, it looks like textures of impacts on snow that looks different with the DSI esp turned on. No crashes without the DSI and optimized textures.
Deathwing514 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Are you sure to use only the first 6? Those six seem to take care of the fire texture and frost texture but not the shock texture.
kryptopyr Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I believe that without the esp, the shock impacts will look identical to the fire impacts.
Aiyen Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 The .esp has no info in it at all...at least mine did (was a bit puzzled about that tbh) not so I removed it. The shock and ice still looks the same since its just vanilla decal overwrites.
