DLC ESMs, to clean or not to clean?

I tried searching the forums but apparently I'm not using the search function correctly because I could not find the answer to my question. I am almost done with the F&L guide, and every time I run LOOT I see the comments about the DLC needing to be cleaned. I know in other games it's recommended to clean them, but could find nothing with FONV DLC. (Unless I missed it.. have been staring at the F&L guide for 2 days now)

 

Should I clean the DLC with FNVEdit or is it ok to leave them as is?
