Always set dedicated output path with the -o command line argument as explained in the first post and/or Terrain-LOD-Readme.txt included in the download archive.

Then install output as any other with the mod manager. Reinstall the map mod if necessary and sort it to load after the xLODGen output, as explained in https://dyndolod.info/Mods/Maps-And-Map-Mods

If you use a modern map mod that uses object LOD 32, then there shouldn't be any conflicts.

Thanks! Its working :)

Hi, why would BC7 not be an option in xlodgen? Do I need a certain download for that?

However, my main issue is that while my terrain lod finally worked after a few tries, all of my object lods are pink. Is this due to not having some texture packs in my test run or what else would cause that? Because I thought LOD looked up the textures from the atlas, not the texture pack that was used to create it.

Not all games support BC7. You need to provide a lot more details. Upload your logs. Depending on settings or the design of LODs, texture resources may be required to not have missing (pink) textures.

No information whatsoever was provided.

BC7 is available for games that support it.

Pink or rather purple textures typically mean the texture is missing. xLODGen can only build the object LOD texture atlas with textures that exist in the load order. Object LOD keeps using the texture path of the LOD model for textures that are not on the object LOD atlas.

My bad, I forgot to say I'm using this for fallout 4 vr, though using fallout 4 to test it. I'll make sure every single texture that could be used for the LODs is enabled. Maybe I left HD LOD out of load order then or something. I'll make a more detailed post if I triple check and still can't get it to work tonight.b

Hi, I have a problem with loading plugins in the FO4LODGen! Plugins just don't show up in the list, although I can see in the console that mods are loading, but they are not displayed in the list of worldspaces! I want to create LODs for my new worldspace, but when loading it is not in the list, what I can fix that? I use MO, and did everything according to the guides, but the problem remained...

What does the screenshot show that you haven't already wrote about? Check what the xLODGen option window explains at the bottom:
Only worldspaces that have existing lodsettings file "LODSettings\<Worldspace>.lod" (.dlodsettings for Fallout3 and New Vegas) are shown either in the Data folder, or in BSA/BA2 archives. Archives are loaded similar to the game itself - the ones specified in the game ini file and those that match loaded plugins names

You can use https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10896 to create the file.

I have no idea what "did everything according to the guides" is supposed to mean or refers to.

I was following the viva new vegas guide for falloutNV but every time I tried LOD generation for terrain it would end in "Operation aborted". I assumed I messed up something in fnvedit so I re-did the entire guide without adding any mods so I wouldn't need to mess with fnvedit. It still stopped after a few seconds (like 20 sec tops) with that same message. I tried generating object+terrain LOD for all the items on the left side of xLODGen except the first one and it completed successfully. Object LOD works for all the items but terrain LOD for the first item ends in the "operation aborted" message.

I'm not sure which files are important so I uploaded bugreport, fnvlodgen_log and lodgen_log from the xloggen install folder - https://ufile.io/f/mi16m

I apologize if I'm missing something obvious

Edit - I deleted the plugins.fnvsettings in appdata/local/falloutnv and all the xlodgen text files and tried the terrain again for clean logs. Here they are - https://paste.ee/p/sK1Ql , https://gofile.io/d/lCe0bh (ufile.io wouldn't load after the first upload and gave php errors, hopefully this is okay)
