lamerthanyou Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 I've been following the S.T.E.P. guide for FNV step by step, and tested my savegames before optimization. Prior to running DDSopt and installing the textures, I ran at about 20-40 FPS depending on location, but since installing the optimized files, my game runs at about 1-3 FPS...I'm not sure what I did wrong. I even tried installing the premade optimized textures, but the system still runs at these speeds. Any ideas?
lamerthanyou Posted February 14, 2018 Author Posted February 14, 2018 Update: Just tried a fresh profile on ModOrganizer with no mods activated/installed. CTD on startup, it seems that I cannot play the game at all without these texture files now. With just the optimized textures, I'm running on 3.1 FPS.
Greg Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 You should still have the original BSAs in the game's data directory so you should be able to start the game from Mod Organizer without any mods or textures installed. If you altered or deleted the original BSAs and you are using a Steam version of the game, you can go into Steam and have it validate cache to redownload the original BSAs into the data folder. If you have the GOG version of the game, I think you can just reinstall to restore the game back to a clean slate.
lamerthanyou Posted February 14, 2018 Author Posted February 14, 2018 I verified the game cache and launched a vanilla game. Still, the game runs at 1.5 FPS. I don't know what I did wrong but I'm thinking I'm gonna have to completely restart.
Greg Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Have you tried to delete the ini files and run the launcher to create new ones? It might even be a good idea to run BethINI to establish known good and clean ini files.
