  1. Obviously, when Harald established "fair" Windhelm, it looked quite different. Have you looked at the vanilla texture? It's a similar grey value with some dark stains on it, and it's only 512 x 512, so the names are illegible. You see, here's an example where you don't want the vanilla appearance, you actually want something different. That's why I said all this "mandate" business is very subjective.
  2. Sorry, which part of the wall are you referring to? Oh, are you referring to the mortar around the name marker stones... You want it to look lighter?
  3. I up vote the video.... that sneezing explosion intro never gets old.
  4. Just a collection of clutter objects..... Nothing to see here.
  5. Saerileth rocks...... Need I say more?
  6. I probably should redo this at some point.... Never was entirely happy with the normal maps.
  7. I'm a little unclear on what people are objecting to here. Sparrow made the meshes, so if you're looking for someone to blame, my money is on him.... Just saying.
  8. The green tint compared to the vanilla map was intentional. I understand why the vanilla map looks as it does, because it's only 1K (in the hi-res pack), so they made it brighter and more saturated than realistic. The only thing, is that it also has very obvious dark splotches that would indicate that the maps are very old (or poorly shielded from the elements, or both). Therefore, such an old map would in real life not be so bright, or saturated in color. It would be faded and darker in value. My textures reflect that. Because I started with a 4K master, I was able to put in a lot more detail than the vanilla map has. Even reduced to 2K, it still looks a fair amount more detailed than the vanilla map, and it has an actual texture to the surface of the map. The vanilla map lacks that. My aim was to produce a map that players could actually read in game as they stood in Dragonsreach. Not just the impression of a map, but a map your "character" could truly read. It was meant as an aid to "immersion."... Yes, I used that filthy word.
  9. I'm a contrarian...... or hadn't you figured that out?
  10. Is it too late to down vote?
  11. Messed up around the eyes!!! This is precisely the kind of vicious slander I was talking about. This person should be flogged, and pronto. Just a note on the textures..... That actually isn't the correct normal map. I accidentally sent off a preliminary version, not the final one. I later sent Pfuscher the corrected version, and the 2K version of the textures. I haven't heard back from him though, so he may be on vacation or something.
  12. Well, it seems you have stumbled on to something.... That's not my Ulfric normal map, that's vanilla. I must've neglected to copy that file over to the 2K-1K version. Seems an update is in order. Now, if I had never known you were evaluating my mod, I might not have noticed this for some time. You see?...... I was right after all.
