I really like the concept of this mod. Very lore-appropriate; however, I agree that it has issues. Perhaps we will create a merged plugin for STEP someday, but for now, I agree that we can drop it. -
I had added some details regarding file #s to the guide. They are accurate in my XP.

I think that it is pretty clear that EBT, BFS and the like are problematic and contribute significantly to CTDs and other issues during combat and uninstall. Seems fine to manage carefully in a Pack, but too unstable for Core, IMO. -
Bummer. It has happened to me as well. CKeditor is s4n's realm, so I cannot comment on this customized implementation. I would assume that IPB can handle it, but we have not yet brought up IPB onto the new server ....

I think this has potential, but it is too early for me to say one way or the other. I have only seen the screens he has up. There are a few blending issues here and there, but some of the blending seems very well done ... perhaps some of the current textures are not finished. Photo-realism can be fine, IMO, as long as the blending is done where it needs to be and as long as the textures "match" the rest of the game ... the transitions between adjacent textures are very important for me in landscape textures. I hope he keeps working on this. I don't think that anyone should voice any strong feelings either way until they give it a careful review in game. EDIT: TomSawyer has captured some great screen compares with SRO and done some good analyses. Based on these, I think this mod still needs quite a bit of work in many areas, but there are some really good things about it too. Agree with CaBaL that the snow textures could be really nice. Riften seems very different, but I do like the leaves on the ground. All-in-all, there are a lot of blending issues to fix, but there is definitely promise, and he seems to be willing to rework "issues" pointed out by his users. -
Thanks TC. I think that these are definitely worth considering. We'll want to see exactly what they do and how they interact with the rest of STEP:Core. If any of these are imminently slated for incorporation into the USP, I'd propose that we allow them to be handled by Arthmoor et al. and "bite the bullet" until then. For those that we are reasonably certain fall outside of the USP mandates, I think that they may be essential Core candidates. We may even want to produce a comprehensive patch of our own to reduce the number of plugins needed ... a STEP:Core Patch. I wonder if Neo and the SR crew have any thoughts about these mods and the USP?

OP UPDATED This is now the "2.2.7 interim-2.3.0 release" The "rules" are somewhat relaxed, so we are open to more suggestions; however, we'll not likely be doing anything too drastic with the non-Core mods of the guide. Please post here though if you have suggestions or comments on the existing guide and mod list. I will begin an overhaul of the development guide ... NOW.

I think that there are just too many conflicts with this mod resulting in instability. Look at the Nexus thread, and you will find many issues. Regardless if the issues aren't related directly to this mod (that is still unknown), this mod is at least a part of the equation, and it all seems to be related to the scripts. Similar issues with Crimson Tide, so I think that we are going to need to wait for a new solution to Skyrim's blood problems. Textures along are not really a fix. These mods don't belong in STEP:Core for these reasons, and I think we should seriously consider pulling them from any Pack or at least warn users of the issues related to using this or CT (savegame issues and CTDs ... two of the worst issues to have together in a single mod). -

The choice is yours. Currently, Skyrim Revisited recommends a combination of the two I think, so suggest you reference that. SRO is not officially in STEP right now. -
Good to know. Neovalen may have brought this up somewhere, so we should keep this bookmarked to determine how to resolve.

I will continue working through the guide instructions as well. I am the one that consolidated and avoided using redundant instructions, so I'll figure out a way to be more explicit and succinct at the same time.

That does sound like a problem. Not necessarily EBT, but definitely makes sense that scripts are piling up during combat, and we would want to include only those that are as liberal and optimized as possible without choking the game. -

Did I say? I said no needed if you use Enh.Blood 3.5a.Correct, it is not needed, and we will bull BBP pull EBT from the guide. -
Agree that this should probably be a Core mod for STEP as long as there are no compatibility issues with any other mods ... I'll download and try it out as well. EDIT: can any of you TES5Edit gurus vouch for plugin compatibilities with other mods .. even those not currently in STEP? Any potential issues?

I posted our advocacy on the MO thread. Surely there are persons in this community and elsewhere that would be willing to help formalize the MO documentation and development under Tannin ....
