  1. Posts moved to pack topic ... PLEASE search the forums before randomly creating redundant topics. We have a pack topic for the mod in question, and this belongs there.
  2. Sort with LOOT, add STEP patch at end, and then look on the pack description page to see if a plugin order is specified (or on nexus description page(s)). If so, then be certain that your plugin order for those modular mods are consistent in your LOOT order. It may or may not matter too much how they are ordered in relation to one another or many of the mods already in STEP, including the STEP patch. When you deviate from any guide, you need to be prepared to resolve dependencies and troubleshoot. Otherwise, just follow the guides.
  3. If you want to focus on playing rather than modding too much, use STEP:Core. This will be vanilla Skyrim with fixes and a significant GFX update all around. For enhanced gameplay, use STEP:Extended, which is Core with some added stuff. SR:LE is a great choice, too, but you will find yourself tweaking much more in following that build. It is a more complex build with more decisions and tweaks required. SR:LE is analogous to STEP:Extended:Extended, essentially. All of these options are 'safe', comprehensive, well-guided builds.
  4. Contributions welcome You can thank GamerPoets for most of the videos (as i am sure you know). he approached us a while back and offered up his services. We are lucky to have him :cyclops:
  5. Welcome, pixilated1. Glad you found us ;)
  6. Glad this thread is useful. Could you point to the posts in here that were most useful? I will compile and post as the best 'answer'
  7. We have recently had three topics created dealing with this issue. I have merged the three and would ask that people search before creating new and redundant topics. thanks @ Avarium Please read through this thread ;)
  8. Interesting ... Just to be clear, we are talking about install order and asset prioritization rather than plugin order here. MO will obey LOOT plugin-order rules (which also defines asset priorities within respective BSAs, since BSAs are linked to parent-plugin order). Most files amongst the DLC do not conflict, but it is possible that the USP team discovered issues with certain DB DLC records that are not present in those (relatively) few that do conflict with the others. Regardless, plugins (and plugin-related assets) will be prioritized by LOOT defs, while assets will be prioritized according to MO left pane. DoubleYou and Tech should be able to confirm though, as I have been away from modding for awhile now, and my memory about these details is fuzzy and outdated ;)
  9. Fair enough. Whatever works ... I have not ever used a monitor with a refresh rate above 75 Hz; although, I don't see how that precludes the use of vsync. At these higher refresh rates (e.g., 120 Hz), vsync won't cut FPS below 60 FPS on a decent system. It would be nice if one of our staff has such a monitor so that we can test this theory.
  10. Vsyc will cause the FPS to drop to around 40-50 FPS (with tri-buffering capability, which modern cards have). This is normal and expected. you will see 60 FPS with vsync only when frames are delivered at or above the same rate as your monitor refresh rate (60 Hz). If slower, then you will get approx 2/3 (of monitor refresh rate) frames (with tri-buffering) or even down to 1/2 in particularly demanding areas. This is all normal and I do not advise turning off vsync (as I have said endlessly). vsync ensures smooth GFX operation and optimal experience. Any FPS above 30 is totally fine and playable and beats the glitching you will notice without vsync, particularly in interiors. Avoid FPS limiters of any kind and use vsync ... that's why we have instructed that it be enabled ;)
  11. Placing this into the support forums so that it can be found more easily ... updating OP
  12. Sounds like he would be using Publisher or other software that has templates or accommodates custom templates for application to various media formats. The trick is incorporating the mandated elements and then the typography variants that make it work intelligibly for each format. Now I see the issue. You need someone that not only knows typography basics, but actually publishes branded docs across various media formats and knows the technical tricks in doing so ... someone with XP. Seems more like a technical project (in learning to use publishing software and specialized printing formats) and less like traditional typography per se. (I am not your guy, obviously). Applied Typography (401) sounds more like what the course should be named :/ .... you could pay for local professional services and limit your work to the general design (with assistance/advice of the service personnel).
  13. I would be more suspicious of certain ENB versions. You might try the latest build for Skyrim or some previous version a few iterations back to be sure. FPS should max at 60, and I use FRAPS historically with no issues.
  14. I changed the 'hello' feature, as mentioned in the link you posted (although I am not sure even what it is or where to find it .... thus, I do not need it). Question: changing under Waterfox (about:config) is same as changing under FF right? What about sync ... will this change sync to my other FF/WF browsers throughout the world, or must I configure each?
  15. I have half a lifetime of amateur XP in typography, but I can't fathom why this class would be that hard in terms of typography per se ... my guess is that coming up with content is the real challenge? Can you explain what the tricky points are so that I can better understand what the issue is? PM me if you want to discuss privately.
  16. Not sure why we are seeing FPS > 60 if ENBoost is 1) active, 2) working, and 3) ENBoost vsync is enabled. My guess is that one of these 3 possibilities is not true. You should be able to confirm 1 and 3, but 2 depends on the version of ENB you are running, so you might want to experiment with other versions. Post in the ENBoost forums so that someone current with ENB troubleshooting can assist you in determining if ENBoost is running and how to toggle vsync on/off with a KB shortcut if possible. Be certain iPresentInterval is set to '1' in your skyrim.ini. ... I have been away from ENB testing for awhile, and am not up on current dev.
  17. No. ENBoost is required to get vsync ... never run without it. You should not see FPS above your monitor refresh rate (probably 60 Hz or 60 FPS) with vsync enabled (you are showing max = 63). You should also see less variation in FPS, and it should smooth the graphics if there is any stuttering. You will need to run again to get the right numbers and experience (and comparing above vanilla chart with the new one will be informative).
  18. ... for context to last post and you Seinfeld fans: Uterus is not the part of the female anatomy that rhymes with the name 'Doloris' Also, I had better remind everyone to behave in their responses to these last couple of posts. We are talking about the womb here and nothing more
  19. OT, but ... few HUNDRED tabs? That seems a bit overkill ... better to just use your history maybe. That alone could cause most browsers to lag or even crash. I can't imagine running more tabs than a single row allows. I would rather close and reopen a page.
  20. I'll just take your word for it if you were starting off with vanilla/baseline INIs on all counts and the guide was followed exactly. After ensuring all settings, including timescale in BP, are you looking at performance during the cart ride? If so, what was your historic FPS (average, min, max) and the updated after switching cards from launch of intro sequence up to the point that you go into char creation? This is a good baseline comparison, because no user input (other than mouse look ... mouse should not be touched) applies. Timescale reduction can cause havok issues and other strange behavior during this sequence. Do you still get noticeable stuttering? What about when running around outdoors or FPS from top of Drangonreach starway in Whiterun and ourside main gate in Solitude (looking out to the South towards the marshes)? If you are, then it is time to begin looking into SKSE memory settings and ENBoost memory settings (independently) and checking again. If you still have these issues, then I think that comments mentioned previously about CPU and system hardware (other than GPU) may be relevant. I have no experience with AMD-based chipsets, so I would not know from my own experience. I will say that I have seen huge benefits enabling vsync in ENBoost versus not (graphics transitions, particularly in interiors, was vastly smoothed out for me). Your new card should have tri-buffering capabilities built in, so you will get much better performance under vsync that you previously did, I think (not as much FPS sacrifice if you are not hitting >= 60 FPS or whatever your monitor refresh is).
  21. NP, we appreciate the info, just wanted to keep Phillendreher's eye on the ball. @Phillendreher (I like the member ID, BTW ... is it your name or word play on philanderer?)
  22. My bad about AF when using only ENBooset (and not ENB 'proper'), you are correct. Just set everything exactly as we have laid it out in the guide, using no other advice or tools that are not mentioned in the guide. (see? Even I --the person who largely worked on these instructions-- do not always catch everything, so it is really easy to miss something ;) ). Not saying that this will fix your issue, but I think we have yet to determine the nature of your issues, since there are some remaining unknowns. Begin with vanilla-generated INIs, and ensure that you have absolutely no custom settings hiding out in enblocal.ini or elsewhere. See addenda to my previous post. Once we have established the baseline, then make changes one at a time for testing and verification of current speculations (if even necessary or possible) YES, especially in the cart intro! Please don't follow any SRLE instructions at this point vanilla everything, new MO profile, follow STEP explicitly, provide result,THEN tweak incrementally and check diffs.
  23. PLEASE ... Force AF via the driver and disable AF in ENBoost! (that is what the instructions say to do, and I have specifically noted that the result is the same, but I see slight boost to FPS) ... still wondering if your other settings mirror the guides, given that you continue to deviate in these situations :/ Once you do exactly as the instructions say, then we can have a meaningful exchange and THEN try out other settings, one at a time. Not yet! Let's keep the deviations to a minimum. Begin with a pure vanilla-generated set of INIs please. Also, did you mess with your timescale? If so, that is a deviation from the baseline instructions, and we cannot troubleshoot unless we KNOW you are operating under the absolute exact settings ... everywhere... as described in the guide. Lots of decent info/advice is being offered here, but it is all irrelevant unless we can establish a baseline common to what we recommend ... THEN we can speculate.
  24. Are you certain? iMultiSample=4 (this is Skyrim AA) Do you have ENBoost vsync enabled? Are ALL of your CCC settings identical to those I linked? Is everything set exactly as described in the links I provided? (check again, and again ... and again) I use AMD (several different cards since we have created these recommendations), so I have set these optimally based on my own testing. They really work, so since there are many settings, I cannot help but assume that you have missed something or changed something that we did not mention. We have already verified that ENBoost VideoMemorySizeMb recommendations are correct, so only deviate once you have made absolutely certain that your settings match ours (and that nothing else was altered).
  25. agree somewhat (it is an $80 diff though), but I would not spend more than $250 for a GPU (i.e., I would wait for R9 390X 8GB [or similar] to go down in price before purchasing). Also, you will pay different prices for different designers, labels, and OEMs: https://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=radeon+R9+390x&N=-1&isNodeId=1
