  1. Yes it does, however I'm not 100% sure why. Either way, it means clean save is safest.
  2. Your guess is as good as mine, but I made sure to download it just in case. lol :)
  3. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/62238 This mod appears to be back, but under a new author name. Minor error in the FOMOD installer, I'm sure it'll get fixed soon (see my nexus comment).
  4. Looks pretty bad, which sucks as nothing else really compares...
  5. You have to blatantly start a romance. It's very obvious.
  6. The 980 is not affected as this video can attest: https://www.destructoid.com/nvidia-has-no-plans-to-address-gtx-970-memory-woes-287003.phtml
  7. ..... .....
  8. An update for anyone who is following this thread: I have contacted Newegg, I'm in an "internal review" and will probably hear an answer during the week. I've heard mixed reviews from people about Neweggs taking of these returns. Amazon, Tigerdirect, Overclockers, etc have all stated they will take the cards back no problem due to Nvidia's error. If the return gets denied I will be forced to contact Gigabyte, the FTC, and/or my credit card company. Additionally, I will be personally boycotting any future purchases from Newegg. I know the false advertising is not their fault, but if every other retailer can do the returns and they can't then its simply bad customer service. The popular review sites have tried sweeping this under the rug for Nvidia with "nothing to see here, look at this shiny avg fps.", however a few of the more independent (read: European) review sites are still pounding Nvidia hard and showing the real problems. Nvidia has been dead silent on this issue since they released their red herring of an excuse. Boris has determined that Nvidias driver is using SYSTEM RAM for the last 1GB to make up for the missing 0.5GB. So its even worse than originally reported. Now for some lighthearted jokes (which made me laugh despite being pissed): SHOCKING interview with Nvidia engineer about the 970 fiasco Hitler Reacts To The GTX 970 Being 3.5GB + .5GB Edit: Links instead of video embeds due to foul language in the captions.
  9. As for my monitor it's a Korean Import ... Basically a Dell 30" without the fluff.
  10. I've already hit it in Shadow of Mordor myself... plus AC:Unity and FC4. Edit for correction: DA:I crosses the 3.5gb boundary with 4xMSAA also at my res.
  11. I meant 980. I was using 2 670 4gb previously.
  12. Personally, single card is preferable for ease of use / compatibility issues but gaming at 2560x1600 doesn't always allow you to keep pumping 60fps at max on single. I have a single 30" 2560x1600 60Hz monitor. Edit: Looking at the reviews, I think the 970 SLI was the right choice when I bought it assuming it had the full 4GB. A single 980 dips below 60fps at 2560x1600 in many games. So the basic answer is: If I want to play max settings I need 2 cards.
  13. I'm trying to decide what to do if/when I get my refund. I don't really feel like paying the premium for 2 980s (+$440 on top of my initial investment of $750, a whopping 60% cost increase) tho that is my only "real" option for same/better performance without the memory/stutter problems. Additionally it also gives Nvidia more of my money for being douches. That being said, the 290X is old tech by comparison(sorry AMD...). The 300 series is interesting and if it was out would be very tempting. Unfortunately, this situation leaves me in a bit of a pickle and I do not want to basically stop gaming for a few months and/or buy a cheap loaner card I'll replace before long. I do not have my original 670 4GBs I had before, they are both sold. Anyone with any sage advice? No, keeping them with the 3.5GB gimp is not an option as I know for a fact TW3 and other games in 2015 will be using all that VRAM.
  14. Wet and Cold distributes the cloaks without the compatibility woes.
  15. Good advice. I just downloaded the latest DLL. If AMD releases the 300 series within the next few weeks Nvidia will be hurting... Link: https://www.tweaktown.com/news/43239/amd-teases-new-fix3r-video-radeon-r9-300-series/index.html
  16. Well, I submitted my refund request to Newegg. They have forwarded it to their internal team for review. Nvidia Community Manager stated they are working with board partners and retailers on issuing refunds for disgruntled customers so we shall see.
  17. On release the only difference was some shaders between the cards. Now it's a memory difference. 4gb vram WAS the future proofing part... Basically what you see when getting past the limit are frame spikes / stutter while the avg frames look good it's very hitchy and not very enjoyable. Funny enough I was fooled because I thought it was a SLI driver issue but in reality it was this.
  18. FC4, Shadow of Mordor, and others with aa on already can cross the limit. Consoles have 4gb vram so that won't save it either once big AAA titles go full next gen.
  19. The problem for me is that I game at 1600p and bought SLI to keep up with demand over time (i.e. Witcher 3, etc.). Based upon how latest AAA games gobble vram this is going to become a limiting factor for me in the very near future. 1080p users not so much.
  20. The ball is in Nvidia court right now, they seem to be back pedaling hard.
  21. That's actually what I'm thinking of doing if I do get my refund.
  22. Agreed, last few years game releases have been really bad. Let's hope 2015 fares better. In any case, it looks like a lot of people have had luck with Newegg returns. Problem is, of course, that I won't have a card for awhile.
  23. Boris has been chiming in on the Nvidia forums and on ENBDev... he is pissed off. https://enbdev.com/index_en.html https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/803518/geforce-900-series/gtx-970-3-5gb-vram-issue/post/4441068/#4441068 More I read the more it makes me want to return as I know future games will use even more vram. I may investigate with Newegg / Gigabyte this weekend.
  24. Sure, unless you read the comments where the analogy is flawed. Lol :) In any case, yes it is a good card. No, I'm not planning to return it but I'm definitely going to be skeptical before touching Nvidia again. I will no longer trust them on their word alone and a form of compensation for the deception would be nice.
  25. Yes, it should be enabled by default with the disease esp installed.
