DROPPED The Skyrim Distance Overhaul (by Grieche)
Wormheart replied to MadWizard25's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This isn't going to be a detailed review of SDO, it turns out that the Morthal Swamps (even in Vanilla Skyrim) are going to be the death of my video card (probably in a great ball of fire and slag judging by how loud my fans got). I gave up after that. Options tested: Giant Campfires The Morthal Swamp Light Waterfall Effects Whiterun Tundra Creeks Overall no performance impact noticed vs. vanilla (vanilla includes the Unofficial patches and HRDLC) Framerate stayed stable at 60 fps for 60s tests in somewhat random mountain perches. (including slow pans across the area just so it's not a static scene during the benchmark) No issue with giant campfires that others reported on the Nexus forums. I did forget to approach a campfire to see how the transition is handled though. (or to see if the slowdown is caused at a certain range) The textures needed to be optimized, the diffuse texture is a 2k 21MB uncompressed dds. In my Full Play Through install I could not leave the Temple of Stendarr on a fresh Vigilant of Stendarr start without optimizing the diffuse and normal map. Morthal Swamps were stable at 60 for a couple of minutes until my card got so hot that I think it underclocked itself as the framerate suddenly became very unstable dropping as low as 14 or lower. Vanilla is not as extreme to the point where my card had to underclock itself and the framerate held at 60, but it still heats things up. I swore I'd never buy ATI again the last time, this time I mean it :P (Installed the latest 13.6 beta drivers and have not tried it again) The waterfall near Valtheim Towers / Darkshade (road from Whiterun to Darkwater Crossing) doesn't have a fancy animated LOD, it is still static. Didn't get around to the other falls yet. -

General Support Thread

Sorry it took so long, but all of the above are normal (and would also show up if you checked skyrim.esm for errors*), I don't see any sign of corruption there. -
Part of all candles (drips) missing
Wormheart replied to amoebae's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Ruins Clutter Improved replaces candle meshes and I believe it also re-uv maps them to custom textures, if the textures are missing or overwritten by textures based on vanilla candles, this can happen. -
1st Person view not working properly
Wormheart replied to andy4theherd's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Did you accidentally install the first person skeleton from XPMS? It is there for a specific mod and I believe it causes problems if that mod is not also installed. Or vice versa, forgot to install the first person skeleton and do use the mod Joy of Perspective? -
This is not technically caused by DSR, you probably missed the Skeleton Rig files when you installed XPMS. I had the same issue until I figured out what was missing.

SKYRIMLE TTYM - Think To Yourself Messages (by VorpalBlades)
Wormheart replied to Yggdrasilion's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This or First-Person Messages are really going to come down to user preference I believe. I didn't mind the new messages in TTYM, I didn't try First-Person Messages, but I don't really need either of them. Might be a good suggestion for a First Person Immersion pack or just as a general recommendation. I found nothing wrong with TTYM, it's just that at the end of the day, I tend to ignore most of what pops up up there anyways. -

Open BetterQuestObjectives.esp in TES5Edit and right click it, Check for Errors. I've had odd ctds trying to load the game before (the kind that suggests a missing master) and it turned out Better quest objectives was corrupting on me. Or more specifically one of the VMAD records was. Unfortunately my TES5Edit logs have already been purged from that time but if you post the result here starting at "Checking for Errors", I'll recognize it. -
SKYRIMLE aMidianBorn Roads and Bridges by CaBaL
Wormheart replied to statmonster's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
wow, now when Vilja says "Someone did a really good job, paving all these roads here in Skyrim." it'll be true! -
It doesn't contain any scripts, but I don't know if it uses any vanilla scripts, I doubt it does. I don't know if they use the Chicken AI package, but I wonder if that package could be modified to at least make them "flee" a short distance when the player is near.

If that is all Boss reports, and you are using Mod Organizer it would appear that you are not running BOSS through Mod Organizer. should help with adding BOSS to MO and running it so that it can sort your whole list.

Version 0.99.1 has been up for a couple of days now. I finally got around to throwing a test set of mods at it to see if SkyProc patchers work now, and they do. I had one minor issue of Dual Sheath Redux hanging trying to run BOSS so I installed SUM to bypass BOSS and after that it worked no problem. Now to find room to back things up AGAIN and try 0.99.1 on my current Mammoth mod list.

I've only ever built the Falkreath home as well, I can't say I even know where the others are :P I'll see about testing the other homes soon.

Interesting, I have survived three vampire attacks in countless starts, and so far in each one all but the guards and the 2 urchins in Whiterun (from Inconsequential NPC's) ran for the safety of a building. I knew something was up when the Whiterun carriage driver and guard were running towards the gates :) Granted I haven't been able to play a game much more than level 20 or so before finding a reason to start over. So I don't know if it is something that might manifest later on in a game.

SKYRIMLE Dual Dagger Power Attack Speed Fix (by mitchalek)
Wormheart replied to TheSagab's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'm not an expert on Animation or Animation Behaviour files, but it might simply be a flag in the file that says yes the speed of this animation can be modified by the game. They converted to 5MB+ XML files and are out of order but yeah, it seems likely that it was a flag or missing definition preventing the animation from playing faster. But I'd still have to defer to someone who knows about this stuff. At least now I know where I might have to look to allow the camera to swing while mining. -
It can be done, I see that Deadly Dragons does it somehow.

My carry weight is off by 170...
Wormheart replied to winflakes's question in General Skyrim LE Support
To post your BOSS log, run boss and on the left side of the window where it says "Output Options" select "Plain Text" instead of HTML. Then run boss, when it is done it will open the log and you can copy and paste it into spoiler tags like below:
paste it here
If you are using Convenient Horses, the auto loot feature might be the cause, I just noticed the Author asking for a feature from SKSE that will allow them to prevent picking up unplayable equipment. I'm sure it only applies to full auto loot though, not the one that opens the window and probably not manually looting from horseback either. -
No scripts in this one. Just two textures, one for snow and one for rain. I didn't notice a performance hit, but the effects may have made my ATI card warm up a little more than normal, but until I break down and buy a new Nvidia card, I'll just blame ATI for now.

I know ;) There is no esp in the mod, just two animation behavior files (hkx's). -
My carry weight is off by 170...
Wormheart replied to winflakes's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Not to mention that unless math has changed recently, what you have does not total 170. I know some mods use a script that changes your carry weight by adding then removing a hidden item. I believe it is a "hack" to work around the broken Slow effect. Perhaps you updated or removed one such mod that has now gone haywire? -
CTD, maybe Ill try a merged patch?
Wormheart replied to Copywrite85's question in General Skyrim LE Support
SkyUI not seeing SKSE when you install it through MO is normal no matter how SKSE is installed (as far as I know), so that is safe to ignore. However if you are missing the SKSE scripts, or don't launch SKSE with the SKSE loader, SkyUI will still appear to work (though really slow) and perhaps also crash, so it doesn't hurt to double check that. -
SKYRIMLE Dual Dagger Power Attack Speed Fix (by mitchalek)
Wormheart replied to TheSagab's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
MO tells me there are no conflicts, would probably be a good candidate for it though. Unless the USKP fixes it in a different way.
