Agreed, I went back to this after trying Crimson Tide for a while. -
SKYRIMLE Sleeping and Fast Travel Dangers - Sands of Time
Bealdwine posted a topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Sleeping and Fast Travel Dangers - Sands of Time Says it all really :) Now this is the kind of mod I really lke - +1 for immersion and in recalling a feature oft used but soon forgotten from classic RPGs and text adventures ;) -
Valid points Staynd :) Btw I assume your mod would be the Vibrancy ENB from your post in the other thread. Can you be classed as an actual mod author? Or is your part in this as a tester or something other? Either way very glad to see you on our forum and look forward to your participation. The more folks we get with RL modding experience and knowledge the better ;) As to this tool I think it is still of use to those who shy away from getting into the guts of things in .ini files, rather like Imaginator. It at least allows them some control. I myself have rarely used ENB because of the performance hit in the past but it offers so many improvements even in it's basic form (shadows, etc) that it is rapidly becoming a 'must have' - I guess that means having to learn even more technical detail :P Heh, all good fun really, lol. Btw I am one of the STEP crew still using RLwC because of a limited PC system so I have a strong interest in your mod if I can reduce the performance hit to a minimum.

Brilliant idea, I'm always seeing ENB custom configs that are ALMOST just what I want but something is always a bit off and refuses to be fixed by Imaginator. This will be perfect for those final subjective tweaks.

1.6 patch to include Mounted Combat!
Bealdwine replied to Thechosenone's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Obviously it is going to be a matter of seeing what remains once the beta phase is over (after the 1.5 fiasco), but with the testing Arthmoor has done on Open Cities looking so promising, a fix to the navmesh issue could have quite an impact on STEP. +1 :D and ditto. Shadows and especially the horrid, flickery self-shadowing are the only major letdown in my current game setup :P -
Cheers Fri, as the Mopy/ folder is the only actual update can this simply be replaced in our current (Python) setup?
-
From an immersion point of view (while this is a clever idea) I wonder about the potential for severe posterior burns and flaming cloak syndrome :D

Thank you for your apology Puuloo, we all occasionally say things online in the heat of the moment that we later regret. Apology accepted :) As to the convertion of delete to disable I will leave that question for someone like Vond to respond as they understand this area of things much better than I do. I hope you will continue to check out our forum and contribute on the basis of your modding knowledge. -

First, I need to see you take criticism about something which you've spent countless hours on. :ox: Second, I'm not a veteran at modding! I just have been in modding for a long time. Third, and what rules am i on the "verge of breaking"????? Last, are you some kind of a boss here to do something "in haste"? I just hate to see some children giving estimates here and there and someone, who wants to check the mod out see them and then turn the other way!!!! So, i don't have to take anything from you! I do not normally like to involve myself in this sort of dispute but as an Admin and Moderator of this site I will add my responce to that of Vond because, whether English is your first language or not Puuloo, you should be aware that your use of language verges on arrogant and insulting, both to our project and to individuals using this site. I understand that you wish to defend your mod which you have dedicated 'countless hours' to creating. However without attention to constructive criticism how will you ever perfect that work? As stated, the aim of STEP is to advise on a modded setup that can be expected to have few if any conflicts - as such it is a guide, not a formal specification of mods to use. But if there are potential issues with a mod we are bound to express those on this site. For mod authors this should be a helpful resource to identify those problems and improve their work. Perhaps you would prefer that these problems were raised in your Nexus forum thread instead? As to your final comments: I am 55 years old and a Lecturer in Information Technology, I try to treat everyone with due respect and acknowledge their efforts to improve a game I enjoy playing in my spare time. I also try to help improve those efforts if I see a way to do so, as I assume that is the aim of a dedicated mod author. "i don't have to take anything from you!" - No you don't, but that works in both directions. Please attempt to act in a civil, adult and reasoned manner if you wish to participate on our forum. -

DROPPED Project Parallax - Solitude (by Osmodius)
Bealdwine replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'll need to check if no one else gets to it first, as which option to take will be important and he now has the 'mountains & rocks' landscape mod also. Unfortunately I'm working over this weekend. I have been debating whether there is a compeling reason to install both HD-2k and SRO, thoughts anyone? If I kept only one I think it would be SRO. -

Bealdwine replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Discussion thread: Project Parallax-Solitude by Osmodius Wiki Link I notice for this mod Osmodius is saying that a choice must be made between SRO or SHD-2k, but not the use of both. He hasn't explicitly said the same for the other 2 mods although there are different versions of his mod downloads. This makes things a little difficult for a full STEP install that incorporates both, has testing shown any problems or incompatibilities? and which versions of the download have been used by people? -
ENB 110 Shadow Comparisons
Bealdwine replied to stoppingby4now's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Thanks for the replies folks, a bit disappointing but maybe there's a work-around. I really want to try one of the performance ENBs for the shadows and parallax (maybe a very light DoF but not especially bothered on that) but I'm also very impressed with my SMAA setup so if any other mods come along with d3d9.dll I may have to make some hard choices. -
CPU affinity - two different approaches

I use an older 22" 1680x1050 Samsung and have never been disappointed, very good contrast ratio and colour rendition - I'm sure you will enjoy yours as much :) -
ENB 110 Shadow Comparisons
Bealdwine replied to stoppingby4now's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Just a quick question on something that has eluded me (like sooo many things): Does the [PROXY] function in enbseries.ini only allow setting 1 (one) other renamed d3d9.dll or many? Also I think someone may have mentioned this - I'm a bit hard of thinking atm - but how are the new shadows, parallax, etc., working with RLwC? -
Ahhh, sneaky ;) I must have missed the comment on that as not using RCRN atm.
-
RCReN - RCRN Enhancer by TheCompiler :) I noticed this snuck on to Nexus today. I was about to write a snotty comment about him stealing one of TCs pictures when I realised who it was by, lol. What I'm not sure about is how it relates to iCCC?
-
I mentioned this a couple of days ago in this thread. He has said that the next version should remove the on screen icon (in some ways I think it was there just to indicate if the mod was working/installed correctly). Also he speaks about using a Proxy function in the HiAlgoBoost.ini file as an alternative (I think?) to the enbseries.ini. He has also been asked to have an option to set the minimum level for the resolution reduction. At the moment it reduces from the original value using a algorithm that could take it as low as 640x420, then stretches that image back to the original screen resolution. Hence the possibility of a very poor image temporarily. Not everyone needs that level of function so setting a min resolution to reach will be a great benefit. Originally this was designed to help people play on very limited systems like older laptops and from the forum posts has worked wonders for some folks. From a STEP point of view (as we are trying to beautify the game beyond vanilla levels) it would probably not be something to be recommended, but there will always be circumstances where it could save the day for some people. It's a very clever idea and the guy seems to know his stuff. There was some issues earlier about whether he was planning to release it as a paid for product - there was a 30 minute time limit and he called the beta a 'trial' - but that may have been non-native english error.
-
Not that I noticed, but you could read through his thread (only 37 or so pages ;) ) or PM him. A warning on his mods boost method tho'. It's intended for really underpowered systems with a GPU bottleneck as it dynamically alters resolution during movement among other things - a very clever system but one that drastically reduces graphic quality at times.
-
In relation to the OP I found this from HiAlgoBoost on his mod forum quite interesting:
-
Just to add to MW's tips, also check out FPS Background Booster. I have used this and although not so dramatic as claimed it did offer a little FPS increase. This one - HiAlgoBoost FPS Performance Accelerator Full Version - I have not yet tried but might be promising.
-
Could you give an idea of which features can be removed to regain the fps please?
