Can't start game with minimal content at STEP 2.D
Greg replied to bagman's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
Steam always reacquires one file when you validate game cache, although I don't remember which file it always detects as changed or why. The big question is whether you can run vanilla Skyrim within the Skyrim launcher without running through Mod Organizer. Make sure this works reliably before moving on to getting Mod Organizer working. When you set up Mod Organizer, the Default profile as a pure vanilla profile and create a new profile for STEP. This way you can switch between the vanilla profile and the STEP profile easily when troubleshooting issues. Also make sure you test the game thoroughly after installing each section before moving on to the next section. This way if you run into any issues, you know it has to be limited to something in this one section. -

Stealth Skills Rebalanced updates the detection system as well, although it also modifies the perk trees of the stealth skills for an overall improvement in gameplay. -
Mod Organizer won't log into Nexus (tried every fix I could find)
Greg replied to GuyFarting's question in Mod Organizer Support
I suspect so because Nexus has been overloaded lately with everyone searching for mods for Skyrim Special Edition. -
I have no idea what "missing files" they are referring to because Mod Organizer 1.3.11 includes everything you need. I just download the ZIP file, extract it to a folder (e.g. C:\Skyrim\ModOrganizer) and then run ModOrganizer.exe. If you downloaded the Mod Organizer v1_3_11 update in the UPDATES section, this does not include everything you need. This is an update that includes only the files that changed from 1.3.5 to 1.3.11. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1334/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D1334&pUp=1 Click the above link and download the first file under MAIN FILES named Mod Organizer v1_3_11.

Which version of Mod Organizer did you download?

I use the author recommended settings as well. -
Feeling a bit overwhelmed here
Greg replied to Dovahkiin's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I think you're right (if I'm remembering correctly) that you don't need the High Resolution DLC or the Unofficial High Resolution Patch if you're using Tony's optimized textures. You really shouldn't use the HRDLC or any high-res textures anyway if you are limited to 1GB VRAM. -

I think sheson was updating it to 2.20 to fix a bug. -
I noticed on Dolmen Ruins Arthmoor says, "[Extracting files from the BSA] will cause things to load in the wrong order and break the game." I have no idea what he means by things loading in the wrong order, but breaking the game? That seems a bit harsh.

The decimal or hex equivalent should work just as well (although I haven't tried it with FOMODs either), but it is far more common to use entity tags (like &, <, and >) when encoding element and attribute values in XML files.

Double check your enblocal.ini file as well. If you are not using an ENB preset, you should have bFloatPointRenderTarget=0 in SkyrimPrefs.ini and UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true in enblocal.ini. If you are using a ENB preset, both settings should be flipped to bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 and UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=false.

Yeah, the whole forum went down just as I was posting a reply. Seems to be working now, although I'm still getting a gateway timeout on the DynDOLOD topic. When I try to go to first unread post in this topic it seems as if the rest of the forum slows down as well.

The forums seem to be laggy on PC as well and the gateway timeout on Sheson's DynDOLOD topic seems to be consistent so far.

Grant makes a good point that I had initially overlooked. If I'm reading this correctly, FNIS is trying to work with this file: E:\New Steam\steamapps\common\The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Mod Organizer\MO Versions\Mod Organizer v1.3.11\mods\Fores New Idles in Skyrim - FNIS\meshes\actors\character\animations\FNIS_PCEA2\1Bergzore_ImmersiveAnimations\1hm_attackpowerforwardsprint.hkx This is about 252 characters, which is getting really close to the 260 character path limitation, so some of the paths may be exceeding the maximum path limit. Shorten that path and then try again. If you have the same issue, uncheck all the animation mods (except FNIS) and run GenerateFNISForUsers so we can verify the base animations are generating correctly. Assuming this works correctly, check one animation mod and run GenerateFNISForUsers again. Keep going until you reproduce the issue.

I just got a gateway timeout when trying to go to first unread message in the DynDOLOD thread as well.

Error 55 is file already open so you might temporarily disable any antivirus software to see if this solves the issue.

summoned version of elven arrows appear on back bug.
Greg replied to raging987inferno's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I've seen a few references to this bug in the vanilla game, but I have no idea how to fix it (assuming it can be fixed). Some of the suggestions are to drop and pickup all bows and arrows, sleep 24 hours, change outfits, change weapons,, turn into a werewolf, equip real arrows, etc. with no evidence that any of these actions have any affect on bound arrows stuck to the player. -
How to test if game is stable after finishing Steps Extended?7
Greg replied to Snowelf12's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
Crash Fixes is an SKSE plugin so you do not need to run LOOT or remake the bashed patch. Just install the Crash Fixes mod and you're done. -
ENB Boost .ini settings for Win10 and Titan X
Greg replied to Snowelf12's question in Post-Processing Support
If you are using Windows 7, you can set VideoMemorySizeMb to whatever is reported by VRamSizeTest minus 170. If you are using Windows 8, 8.1, or 10 you should set VideoMemorySizeMb to 4064. This was originally reported is a bug in Windows 8, but I can't help but wonder if Microsoft may have done this intentionally. I do know Microsoft is being extremely quiet about this issue so I doubt it will ever be fixed. -

Greg replied to Snowelf12's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
You can install Crash Fixes at any time if you want. I usually complete the STEP Extended guide, test the game for a while to make sure I haven't messed up something, then install Crash Fixes with the default settings, and start a new game. -
Mod Organizer "failed to initialize renderer
Greg replied to ShiftyPrick's question in Mod Organizer Support
You mean FO4 uses DirectX 11 and Skyrim uses DirectX 9?
