Only the 'winning' game assets (textures, sounds, scripts, etc.) are loaded into the game. There will never be any duplication of anything if two or more mods provide the same file. If you want to use an asset from Mod A, instead of hiding it via the 'Data' tab, open the mod in the left-hand pane and hide the files there. repeat this for all mods that have files you want to hide. However, there is no need to hide anything if the correct order in the left-hand pane is provided. The mod with the higher priority number provides the assets to the game.

Hmm... well the good thing is none of your downloaded mods will need to sourced again. The only change made by MO when you download a mod is the creation of a file named <name of the downloaded file>.meta, which is a simple text file that records information such as time, actual mod name, whether it is installed, Nexus URL, etc. These files can safely be removed when you move downloads. If you move your MO install, all you need do is move the actual files from their current folder to the folder defined in MO as the "Downloads" folder. This also means these downloads are not the cause of this issue. Now the execution of the NXM protocol used by Nexus needs to be examined since you say there was an issue here and when you installed a new MO (1.2.18) it worked and then the old MO (1.3.11) worked once more. In the folder of each MO is an executable called: NXMHandler. Run it and note the path listed as to where each game is calling the ModOrganizer executable. You may have numerous versions of Skyrim listed and only one will point to the desired program. e.g. Skyrim -- D:\Games\MO\TES5\ModOrganizer.exe Skyrim -- D:\Games\ModOrganizer\TES5\ModOrganizer.exe In this case the top listed installation will handle the downloads and the files will be found in the "Downloads" folder of that install. This may not be the install that you desire.

If you could post your MO INI and the last set of logs from the 'logs' folder please? Either here in spoiler tags or via PasteBin or similar.

Can YOU find the source of my troubles? Intermittent Freezing.
GrantSP replied to MissShaoHuan's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Those entries in the MO log are not related to crashes. All games, whether they crash or not, sometimes make unresolved exceptions and MO is just making note of them. My installation is very stable and my logs always have that listing. -
So are you saying that for a time your current installation of MO was working? Only after some downloading did this matter show up? Tthis makes me think there may be some processes trying to load to handle failed downloads and they are not letting the main UI load. Did you suffer any problems with downloading?

'archive list limit removed at 00AFEE53' ... huh?
GrantSP replied to MissShaoHuan's question in Mod Organizer Support
You may ask in the "General" section about your load order if you wish or if using a guided install such as STEP or SR:LE you could ask there. -
'archive list limit removed at 00AFEE53' ... huh?
GrantSP replied to MissShaoHuan's question in Mod Organizer Support
These are not errors, they are simply pieces of information logged by MO, hence the "INFO" prefix. Any freezes you are experiencing will need to diagnosed further by examining your load order, INI settings and anything else that may be pertinent. -
The biggest difference with 1.2.18 and the 1.3.x series is the removal of support for Windows XP. Some functions that Windows 7 and above have are not possible with XP. Even though you state you are running Windows 10 Home, the fact 1.2.18 works for you and 1.3.x doesn't makes me believe there is something wrong with your installation of Windows. Can you try to run MO under 'Compatibility mode' from Windows explorer? Right-click on the exe and choose: Properties. Select the 'Compatibility' tab and then check the box and select Windows XP (Service Pack 3) from the dropdown list.

GUIDE Mythic Dawn: Gateway to Oblivion WIP
GrantSP replied to hishutup's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Do you have the Steam or the retail disc version? I use MO with the retail disc version and have no issues at all, but apparently those with the Steam version face issues especially with OBSE and mods that use it. I don't have all the mods this guide uses because I lack some of the DLC so that may also contribute but it wouldn't hurt to try and see. If you're comfortable with STEP & F&LNV then this will be a 'walk in the park'. -
GUIDE Mythic Dawn: 2015 Update Discussion & Changelog
GrantSP replied to SynthetikHD's topic in Oblivion - Mythic Dawn
Do you mind if I ask what exactly was your reason(s) for dumping MO in favour of WB? I know there are some issues with using the Steam version of Oblivion and some OBSE plugins, was it this or something else? Not trying to convert you back to MO, just curious to find the reasons as I have never faced any of them. -
Ahh... I see the stickied post on the Nexus by Z is directing to the wiki. He's the only one that edit that post so we'll have to wait for that to be fixed.
-
What Nexus page is linking them to the Wiki before first sending them to the forum?
-
Okay, I see what's going wrong. Its only the link from the wiki side of things that is pointing to the wrong page. Since you obviously have an account you should be able to just enter those login details when prompted and have access to the wiki. @s4n will have to see to this as he handles all the server side issues. Nothing about this issue will interfere with your normal browsing of wiki use. Thank you for the observation and the report.
-
I didn't do that because as @DoubleYou pointed out in another post somewhere, not all users have upgraded to the Radeon Settings app yet, until such time that the userbase is all on the latest its probably best to keep both.
-
I've put together a very rough draft of the new Radeon Settings guide, basically a copy/paste of the existing AMD CCC with an animated gif of how to add Skyrim and set it correctly. Any input into what extras need to be added is appreciated. Radeon Settings Guide

Make sure you have NO AV packages running in the background. The 'hooking' mechanic is often seen by AV software as a bad thing and often gets removed.
-
Did you enter your STEP login details and have you enabled 'cookies' in your browser?
-
No issue with file that is uploaded to Nexus, I just re-downloaded it to verify and it extracts fine. Any issues you face with file extraction are usually down to Nexus's CDN servers. They need to propagate that file across numerous servers around the planet and it is possible the server you are sourcing it from has an issue. You could manually choose another server or contact them and advise them of this problem.

Baldurs Gate vs Baldurs Gate : Enhanced?

Welcome to STEP @Clausi There are no additional libraries that you need to install, the only thing you might need to do is enable the .NET Framework 3.5 via Windows. Examine the MO manual to see how that is done. The log entry is referring to multiple thread executions and how they are handled in MO. Possibly you started MO, and it was minimised, and the small tutorial or update dialogues that show on the first instance of MO's use, were open but not visible and you tried to start another instance of MO. Reboot your system, to ensure no running instances of MO persist, and install MO via the archive version. Simply extract the contents into a folder all its own, away from any UAC folders such as Program Files, and run it from there. If the main UI does not show Alt-Tab to bring to the front any other running processes and if the tutorial or update notice are showing, dismiss them and the UI should display. If all is well read the manual on how to setup your Nexus accounts and start to add mods. If not please post here your logs and any other INIs that are created upon MO's install.
-
INIs are apparently identical. The only difference to most users is he doesn't have archive management enabled.
-
I notice from your logs that you are not using MO's builtin archive management. Could re-run the tests and use that feature? I'm not familiar with either AMD Crimson "Power Efficiency = Off" or ClockBlocker that you are using to enhance your framerates but I will say this: every layer of software you add onto a 'hooked' process will mean an increase in processing time. This is why the Steam overlay or other "game boosting" tools are advised to be turned off when you use MO.
-
Your OP said you were experiencing "significant" framerate drops. Do you mind posting figures so we can see what you are talking about? Assuming all the assets for the game are stored on a fast SSD in a folder without UAC, using exactly the same INI settings for both the game and any ENB you may use, there is no reason, based on the code in MO, for lag. All that happens with MO is this: Start the game via MO and the 'hooking' mechanism parses shortened paths to the BSAs like this: INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aaa" maps to "Skyrim - Misc.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aab" maps to "Skyrim - Shaders.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aac" maps to "Skyrim - Textures.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aad" maps to "Skyrim - Interface.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aae" maps to "Skyrim - Animations.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aaf" maps to "Skyrim - Meshes.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aag" maps to "Skyrim - Sounds.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aah" maps to "Skyrim - Voices.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aai" maps to "Skyrim - VoicesExtra.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aaj" maps to "Update.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aak" maps to "Dawnguard.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aal" maps to "HearthFires.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aam" maps to "Dragonborn.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aan" maps to "Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aao" maps to "HighResTexturePack01.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aap" maps to "HighResTexturePack02.bsa" INFO (09:21:11.0474): "aaq" maps to "HighResTexturePack03.bsa" and also redirects the folders containing any mods to paths that the game expects like this: DEBUG (09:21:11.0948): first access to Unofficial High Resolution Patch DEBUG (09:21:11.0948): get file attributes: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp -> D:\Games\ModOrganizer\TES5\mods\Unofficial High Resolution Patch\Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp: 20 Now the important thing to remember here is that all of this takes place BEFORE the game engine initialises. Once the game engine has all these assets and paths set in memory, MO plays NO FURTHER part in game management. (There is a minimal amount of code still resident in memory to ensure all of this is maintained, but nothing of a magnitude that would impact on game performance, or even be perceivable.) Additionally the OP of this topic and your post are different in content, the OP is talking about an user error whereas you are describing performance issues when comparing the vanilla game with or without MO. This isn't to sound as though your claim is dismissed out of hand, but if you could provide your INIs and logs in addition to some numbers to compare. Otherwise this is merely an exercise in hypotheticals.
