  1. I second this question. Are those issues game-breaking? Should we drop the mod to avoid any future corruptions/CTDs?
  2. What could those problems be? Should we uninstall the mod too?
  3. Is it safe for me to install Immersive College of Winterhold mid-game? I have STEP Extended + REGS (I opted to not install the mod when I was first creating my setup) + CoT + ELFX + Immersive Armors & Weapons + A few companion mods. I am about 30 hours into my save.
  4. Ok, thank you very much for your help. I'll get to reading the FAQ asap
  5. Ah, ok. Is there a way to return back to 1.2.14 without losing any important data?
  6. Hi there, After upgrading my MO to 1.2.15 yesterday, I noticed that I can't reorder Unmanaged files (namely the official DLCs and the Bashed Patch) permanently anymore. I reorder them, put them into the correct order as dictated by the STEP setup, but as soon as I close MO, they return to their original place when I open it again. It looks like this: https://i60.tinypic.com/nobxar.jpg Is this supposed to happen? I didn't have this problem in 1.2.14; the unmanaged files stayed where they are after I closed MO. I also have another question. When I double-click on any one of the unmanaged files, I see this in the Optional ESPs page: https://i61.tinypic.com/fu87tc.jpg Am I supposed to see all the unmanaged files there like this? Shouldn't I see only Danwguard.esm when I check the Optional ESPs tab of "Unmanaged: Dawnguard?" Another problem is that as soon as I move the HighResTexturePack01, 02 and 03.esps to Optional ESPs tab above (as you can see in the previous picture) their entries in the Left Pane of Mod Organizer disappears. If I move them back to Available ESPs tab below, they reapper in the Left Pane. Is this normal? There are other mods whose ESPs I moved to Optional ESPs tab and they still show in the Left Pane.
  7. I have heard that it was way too complex and might possibly corrupt your save because of its complexity.
  8. Why were they removed from Nexus? What's wrong with them?
  9. - deleted - I now have two other questions. I downloaded the texture pack which is provided in the STEP page on Nexus. 1) Where should I put it in MO? 2) If I have that pack, do I still need Bethesda Hi-Res DLC Optimized? If yes, do I load it before or after the STEP's own optimized texture pack?
  10. I second this question. By the way, I want to opt out of Realistic Room Rental - Enhanced. I think ETaC did a better job with inns, and I don't need the extended functionality RRR offers. Would I have any problems with an otherwise REGS-compliant setup?
  11. Nope, I didn't touch anything about the shadow settings. They are what they were before I installed AV. And more frustratingly, I can now confirm that problem is related to activating the AV texture packs in MO. As soon as I deactivate them, the cart ride turns into "weeeeee I'm all over Skyrim dude!!1!1!!". When I activate them again, everything turns normal. Also, this time the cart ride didn't end at all. We sommersaulted into the sky and stayed that way for at least 3 minutes. Then I Alt+F4'd the game. It's really weird, though. What do some textures have to do with a totally scripted event? With nothing but a few NPCs and horses?
  12. Sorry for the late reply. I have been tinkering with my modlist to reach an ultimate setup. I have done everything as you said; I've even used the same names you recommended for my mods packs :D However, there seems to be a weird problem. You say we can deactivate the texture packs from the left pane after Automatic Variants Patcher is done with them. When I did so, and launched Skyrim, everything went downhill at the cart ride. That cart ride turned into the wildest rollercoaster ride imaginable. Together with my cart-mates, we were ALL OVER the place. And we finally reached Helgen, we stopped at a wrong place and nobody (including me) could move. So I exited the game, then loaded a game that was saved before installing Automatic Variants (exactly the same mod setup, but no Automatic Variants were used in that game). It loaded successfully and I was able to make my way through dragon-blasted Helgen. Then, I thought maybe there was a problem with my Automatic Variants setup, and started searching the net. I found this topic https://forum.step-project.com/topic/3489-thank-you-step-automatic-variants-and-other-problems/ There, DoubleYou recommends keeping the Automatic Variants texture packs active anyway. So I activated the texture packs, started the game and voila! The cart ride returns to its normal track. Now, before jumping to any conclusions, I must say that I haven't thoroughly tested this occurence. Maybe there was something else interfering with that cart ride, but for now, it seems like the culprit is the deactivated Automatic Variants texture packs. For reference, here is my load order: Active Mod Files:
  13. Unfortunately, I have to disagree with TechAngel. There are many conflicts between the packs. The Companions pack conflicts with REGS as the city layout changes, which breaks some of the new quests because the actors cannot arrive at the necessary places to fire off their scripts. War Ensemble conflicts with REGS for similar reasons. Weather and Lighting Pack tells you to install Climates of Tamriel but completely neglects to tell you that you should be installing Audio Overhaul (a mod included in STEP Core install) patch for it. STEP tells you to install Birds and Flocks which is known to cause savegame corruption issues. REGS tells you it's lore friendly, but it suggests a mod which has you fighting holograms. What I'm telling is that STEP is not a fire&forget project. It's an amazing guide for newcomers to Skyrim, provides you with an excellent walkthrough for a heavily modded yet stable game, but it still requires quite a lot of effort from the player. Therefore mobias, you will have problems even if you follow everything step by step. You might as well start your STEP setup now and arrive at a stable game through a process of trial and error.
  14. The same problem (at least until now) happens with the new 0.52.3 update. And this fix doesn't solve the problem.
  15. It's updated again, and this time, this solution doesn't work. I've manually set the NMM version to 0.52.3 and it didn't help.
  16. Sorry for resurrecting this thread but I have the same question. What is the prodecure if I want to add Automatic Variants on top of my STEP setup, using Mod Organizer?
  17. I also would like to know that. I asked the same question and a moderator said they would work together, but I too saw some comments saying that ENBoost doesn't work with Project Parallax.
  18. Nice to hear that. Thanks a lot :)
  19. Hi there, Is it possible to migrate the STEP Extended setup (installed via Mod Organizer, ofc) on my laptop to my desktop computer? Or do I have to repeat the setup process on my desktop?
  20. Wow, I didn' think it would be as easy as that, thanks. One thing comes to mind, though. If I can reorder which mod overwrites which by just dragging & dropping, how does MO retain the loading order dictated by LOOT? If LOOT says "Mod X should load after Mod Y," but I manually placed Mod X before Mod Y on MO, which order prevails?
  21. Hi, I have been following this guide -> https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.9 to get a clean Skyrim install, but today I noticed a big mistake  While installing the mods through Mod Organizer, I noticed that in the STEP list, I jumped from 2.E. Interface to 2.G. Landscape & Environment, and then (even worse), continued with 2.H. Characters & Creatures. That means I completely skipped 2.F. Conflicting Graphics. I realized this just as I was about to start 2.I. Clothing & Equipment. Now, I'm thinking of returning to 2.F. Conflicting Graphics, installing all the mods there, then reinstalling all the mods down the line (in order) from 2.G. Landscape & Environment and 2.H. Characters & Creatures. I'm hypothesising that if I follow this procedure, I'll still be able to overwrite everything that was meant to be overwritten in 2.F. with mods from 2.G and 2.H. Amirite? Any thoughts? Is my setup doomed, or can it be salvaged through my, or any other, method?
  22. Hi there, Is it possible to use ENBoost and ENB's parallax fix together? Or do I have to forego one for the other? I am following STEP Core but I'd like to choose parallax option for mods that support it, as long as I can also get ENBoost to do its magic.
