Hard to describe 1st POV look at ceiling issue
Aiyen replied to dem1an's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Need mod list and load order in spoiler tags I think. You have not provided much to go on! So unless one person have experienced just that issue then it might take a while! :) -
Run tes5edit with all mods active.. it will stop when you hit the culprint and provide an error.

in picture series nr 2 from the bottom you can see it in vanilla as well. it is just better hidden since it blends better I guess. -
Strange focus/lighting/something problem around Solstheim
Aiyen replied to DoYouEvenModBro's question in General Skyrim LE Support
No its the ingame "motion blur" however it is a static effect instead of true motion blur. Its an effect that is put on you when you enter that area... for special effect. However it should only happen the first time afaik... .but my experience with DB is limited. I do know that it vanish again after a while.... try to go indoor and out again for example. -

No part of the vanilla game in certain caves. For example shimmermistcave -
Which most likely means that you have a missing dependency somewhere on your list.

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Aiyen replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Also if you do mess with the _MSN.dds files then you will almost certainly notice it ingame ;) It is okay that they are 21Mb in size etc. since it does matter how detailed they are! -
Unless the AMD forums have a link to an official "fix" and admit that it is a harmless problem then yes I would. The component is not meant to behave in this way as long as it is used normally, hence no OC unless it is the factory default. Also if you have a really old MB then I guess it could be some MB-GFX connection where the data is not getting transferred properly... however it is a bit of a long shot, anything more exotic gets less and less likely .... at least I have never read or heard about anything more exotic, that was remotely reproduce-able. If the next card does exactly the same then it must be something else... since the chance of getting a third card with the same issue should be really low. If you have a friend with an Nvidia card then try to borrow it and see if it works without any issue. Sometimes hardware just do not want to play nice with each other for some reason or other.
-
Actually just checked the img... lol... too tired atm it seems. Red polygons in are always (afaik) due to bad memory... IF they happen during boot then it is 100% bad memory and a certain RMA. I would always RMA a card that did that... or at least make sure I had my warranty date memorized so I could switch it before it runs out if required. Any card that does that would not have a "fix" for it.. since it would be an issue at the hardware level. Might be able to function for a few months but eventually then it will fail before it should.
-
Some cards just have weird issues like this... better research before buying would be the best option. Even though this does sound a bit odd in the best of cases. My first thought would be that there was a PSU with too little power on the 12v rail connected to the card. Before going to that then try to stress test it to make sure that was the case.... Another reason why I hate getting new cards. And I am willing to pay more for quality brands in that regard.

Strange focus/lighting/something problem around Solstheim
Aiyen replied to DoYouEvenModBro's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Its part of the vanilla game when you enter solstein... it should go away after a while. In one of my last tests.... months ago then it took it almost 5 mins before it went away... guessed it was because of some sort of game lag. Just like if you got too many mods running in the helgen start then it can also mess up timings etc. -
I run with dragon combat overhaul... and it works more or less flawlessly. It is more scripts etc. But I removed several others to get it stable. It was one of those mods that I would rather play with over others. ASIS was one of the first to go. It just adds too much incompatibility and issues, and when it works it does not even do it very convincingly (It is not fun to strike what you think is a lone guy and suddenly he spilts up into 5 guys... even less fun when it is a boss that does it!)

Install the AV packages as normal. Then copy over all the files to a temporary folder with the path ...\textures\AV Packages\... This is because DDSOpt only works if files are in a folder named textures.... a bit silly but that is how it is. Now optimize and resize as needed... I highly recommend that you reduce stuff like rabbits and foxes and other small animals to 1k... since there is not reason to waste memory on those. After you are done copy the files back to where they came from and overwrite as required. Now run the AV patcher or SUM depending on what you use. Now the files will be moved into overwrite as they should, and the .esp will be created that links to them.

Stuck in windowed and CTD when changing to female
Aiyen replied to Vyperhate's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Are you sure you have the extra addon for Racemenu that allows more hairs etc? If you do not then you will CTD when using the showracemenu option most of the time. Other then that then it is always recommended to only alter sex etc. while inside a small interior to reduce issues. As for the window issue... If your ini settings are correct, and the problem persist then it is most likely due to some other program you have running as well. -
Getting a new computer now then I would suggest. Core i5/i7 or AMD equivalent. A decent motherboard... do not waste money buying a piss cheap one that has less bandwidth or thermal solutions. Also is is just sad if the MB cannot last longer then the other components. Better to save money elsewhere imo. At least 12Gb of DDR3 ram of at least 1600Mhz. Preferably from a quality brand... yes it does matter. The best performance for the money GFX you can get at your location for either Nvidia or AMD. And ofc. a decent gold certified power supply with all the amps on a single 12v rail. The certificate again depends on where you live. Where I live power is expensive.. and it really pays off in the long run. But I also build my machines to last roughly 5 years with a few parts perhaps getting changed during the period. Also phazer11... you confuse me! :) Also I guess I should give you my updated ENB for v.200 :P

The few mods I have tried out have been a bit overdone. The best one I have tested is the one for roads. However the main issue with parallax mods is that once you use one... then if you do not use it for most textures, then it makes the textures that lack it stand out way too much which ruins the overall feel of the scene imo. Also I prefer having the lighting done great over the parallax so do not really want to mess to much with the meshes. But one can only hope that more stuff like this comes out!

Yeah I doubt you are going to be able to save a save (I know...) with that many items in it if you make changes. Especially stuff like spawning locations etc. But I have very little experience in terms of doing stuff like that so you might. Also glad to see that simplifying the ini´s is having a positive effect. One would only figure as much.

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)

@michaelrw: Recently bought a Dell U2713HM. -
First thing I would do is add as few additions to the .ini files as possible... and tune down the grass settings. Grass requires shadows, shadows require CPU cycles to calculate. All those CPU, memory, mipmap etc. lines you got... Do you have a reason for having them there or have you just read that other people with other setups have tried it and created wonderland? Also the water settings.. they make no sense since you use WATER... I dare you do show me any noticeable difference between 512, and 1024 with that mod on. The list goes on. In general in my tests I have found no reason to have most of those on... no noticeable visible changes, and no measurable performance increases... so why have them? They all contribute to make the game engine work more for little to no gain. Freezes are most likely due to the game engine trying to handle too much.... and there are plenty of places where you can optimize. As for mods... why use destructible bottles? It adds almost nothing to the game, and cause yet another great compatibility cause. Also you are using Encounter Zones and in general change the spawning points, and yet you have SKYTEST installed that is also just a recipe for issues. Also you have both BSF and Enhanced blood, which with increased spawns means even more script use that you might not even notice since it is just a random wolf hunting a rabbit etc. In general too many script intensive mods. Try to ask yourself if you REALLY need certain mods. Stability > Quantity after all.

No you have to manually install them all. But as long as you have the archives then that should be fairly simple. Only downside is that you will not have the ability to see in MO if a mod has updates etc. since there is no meta file generated for mods installed manually. You can make this yourself, but it is rather time consuming and tedious, and most likely faster to just redownload depending on your connection type. The names will be the name of the archive you install from.

CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Aiyen replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
No SLI does not share memory... Even Boris cannot do anything about that since it is an inherit limit on the hardware level. Motherboard and Graphics chip developers would have to create new architecture for that to be possible. Also I think that his approach is going to hit a stability wall soon enough. There are still nobody that are able to run exterior with full 4k afterall. I have only verified that you can run with higher ugrids values if using only 1k textures mainly with an SR mod list fairly stable. Although at my resolution of 1440p then performance takes a serious hit, since that also means that AO filter etc has to be applied on a much larger area... which really hurts my poor gtx 660. -
Technically you still have freedom of speech.... as long as you identify yourself first!

Failing miserably to get STEP overhaul off the ground
Aiyen replied to frozenreads's question in General Skyrim LE Support
1. Just install BOSS using its installer, then install WB, it should be automatically detected. 2. It helps sort the load order so that most conflicts will be sorted out. Hope that helps, otherwise just let us know and I am sure a more indepth guide will be linked to or provided. -
