JAWZ strikes back... or again! Either way I picture a shark and the imperial march soundtrack! That aside.. looks interresting. Gotta have to take a look at that in more detail to really get the feel for it. from my quick overview it looks like you have gone for the more natural feel with the color template used by the game. Might look good. One initial worry I have is your changes to the night eye bloom values.... as I recall some of those are actually used by certain effects, and events in game. Mainly the shouts and such... if I recall correctly anyways. Dunno if you already checked that

It would could be because ENB does some fixes to the calculations done. If the problem is only there with ENB off then that would be the most likely reason If it is there with ENB on, then it is probably another of the small bugs between ELFX and ENB where depending on the angle you view something from you will get a bug. However mostly this sort of bug is related to shadows only. Since it is a general brightning of the screen it could also very well be an adaptation issue... depending on the locale and settings etc. adaptation can go nuts when viewing something from a certain angle.

Disabling ENB's screenshot functionality or allocating a different folder
Aiyen replied to LordGandalf's question in Post-Processing Support
The number you change is the ascii code for the key assigned. Change it to something you want to use instead of prt screen. I am not sure the null value of 0 actually works, or if it then just reverts to default settings. It is not possible to alter the directory or anything like that sadly. If you are using ENB you should only use its screenshot ability to make sure you get all post processing with. Or use a 3rd party software that does the same... but the first is the best to avoid any other issues down the road. If you use prt screen then more screenshots with various levels of post processing will be applied. It have been a common problem for ages with people not understanding why their images looked slightly off compared to ingame. Hope that helped a little bit. -
Never heard of them before now....Guess it is nice to see someone thinking outside the box. Sad that the whole paid mods thingy was so poorly handled...

Disable Vividian ENB / Use another ENB
Aiyen replied to augustburnsred's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
If you like the visuals then the best thing to do first would be to lower the various quality parameters. Most can be lowered further without massive detrimental effects. The ENB guide here on the site should be comprehensive enough to help you with that by now. Otherwise just check out what I have put in skylight and try that out. Last I checked most of the compute intensive stuff was similar in the files used. -
While I am flattered then I was not aware that my preset was usable for FO4 :P Jest aside... lovely that you took the time to convert this for use with the FO binaries! I am sure it will help someone have some good ol colorful fun come winter!

There are really many many good suggestions our the web for doing planet textures in general. Some of the more amusing I have seen are people that have taken pictures of their dirty frying pans and applied a few basic filters on top and they looked just like some of Jupiter's moons. From what little I did myself in that regard you can actually use just about everything for a planet as long as you are good at making the texture spherical and blend the edges. As I recall Adobe after effects have some really nice tailor made tools for dealing with that sort of transformations. You can also do it in GIMP.. but man it is a chore! Sorry for not seeing this earlier... getting lazy n older n stuff! :)

But but but Sparrow you are only level 1... you cannot use said glass sword because it is too heavy for you! Here take this old iron great-sword instead! -
It is quite known, there have been a few short debates in the past. In general you do not really want to discuss politics or ethics with Boris. It will just blow up way too quick. A nasty mix of culture, translation issues, and good ol stubbornness.

nice looking... audio a bit low on my end.. not sure if that was the bandy thingy or what, but figured I would mention it.

Sorry Sparrow..I do not have the game and wont get it until it comes on a big sale some day (Starcraft 2 got my full game budget this time around)! But I do read all your findings with the new texture setup with interest! From the sounds of it they have opened up for some interesting possibilities, but ofc. not used any of them! But at least there are potential toys for the future there! But hey... any improvement in the number of maps other than diffuse, normal and spec is welcome in my book! :) -

Neo: It is most likely not photoshopped, but rather that they use the development engine with everything as pretty as it can be.... ofc. that stuff is most likely as unstable as running skyrim with ugrids = 200 and have an FPS of -10 etc. hence they wont give that to the audience. :) -

Ofc. ideally the whole multi card thingy sounds good on paper.. but let us be honest, will there be any incentive from AMD and Nvidia to actually work together for the benefit of the consumer? Or is it more plausible that they will continue to try to develop features that are unique for their own architectures, and introduce limitations on the hardware level that will prevent this nice gesture from being what it could be. I hope to be proven wrong, but well corporate interests being what they are and all... On another note... any conclusions on what the native resolution and compression formats on the textures are yet? And is it still all nif mesh format? -

I think I am going to stand over here in the skeptic corner and just ask... but why? At least for a while yet. Got to admit that other than for the sake of doing it, I do not really see that much point for the average consumer. -

Mixing hardware vendors... what could possibly go wrong! :) Fond memories of the early days of "plug n play" comes rushing back... -

Well at least the figured out the sorcery that is light beams :) And from the overall look they also seem to have made some nice improvements on how they setup their bloom, so it actually match the general materials they use in the game. Ofc. they still use the sad distance fog color thing... it is just not a decent idea on its own. Would have been nice if they took some more inspiration from ENB there, and made some more volumetric effects to cover up their bad LOD´s. Overall I do still think their tonemapping is sad to look at. But again console games where you have to expect that people are using crap TV´s... so cant really blame them there... but definitely an area where huge overall improvements can be made. -

No I am not saying we should defend it. Just understand why it is as it is. And that all things considered as a creative suite you do get quite a bargain. If you had to go buy the same amount of assets in UE4... you can be quite certain that you would have to spend more than on the game itself. If the primary focus of the engine became development of 3rd party assets, then you can be sure that it would be improved further. But again it is just a console game... hence there is not really any incentive. That said then beth would have to go even further down the rabbit hole to get as bad as ubisoft.... Now there is a company that fails on so many levels it is not even funny any more. At least they are starting to actually have milked their IP´s so much that their games even get bad reviews on the mainstream review sites... but that is another story. -

In the defence of beth.... if you had a product that sold crazy good, and you knew a horde of people where going to improve upon it for free... would you not just be a bit lazy... and release stuff that is subpar ? I am no economist... but I am fairly certain the cost benefits ratio of that sort of deal is fairly good. Perhaps it is more or less time to stop seeing beth titles are games in the traditional sense.... and more like a sandbox with a toolkit people can get creative in. More or less like if you had unreal or cryengine with a lot more assets to play with without having to pay to get them. At least that was what skyrim was for me for the longest time... I never really saw the game, heck I still have not even played past the 1000 steps up the mountain! :) If you look at it that way then you actually get quite a good deal for your money. If you where to but the same amount of assets for any other engine you would have to put down a lot more money. Also whatever you learn in using this engine, you most likely can use in the other. -
How important is texture optimization for high VRAM setups?
Aiyen replied to Dayfather's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
There is no point with that much memory. The benefits are only present if you have low amounts of memory. Also a constraint of 4k would only do something if you had higher than 4k resolution.... and almost no textures are that large. And the ones that are essentially do not provide anything other than bragging rights. -

jump points... that is so last millennium! We want warp drives at the very least! Improbability drives would ofc. be better! But I understand the game engine has limitations after all! -

Root: I will enlighten you Mining: Take a shovel... go to the nearest park, dig! Trading: Take a towel... go to the nearest park... profit! Farming: Take some seeds.... go to the nearest park... FOOD!(about the same time as SC will be released most likely!) Astronomy: Take yourself.... go to the nearest park (because of the theme) and look up! medicine: Take yourself.... go to the nearest park and talk to the guy with the funky hair! Overclocking ship components.... hmmm okay you got me there.. but it will involve going to a park! -
That is specular for those particular textures set way higher than the preset is designed for. Reduce interior specular intensity in enbseries.ini to compensate for those textures. If it is the same textures I once tested, then it was because they where made with the intention of showing you could get that specular effect without ENB.... but ofc. when you use one it needs to be proportioned correctly.

If nothing else one can look forward to the inevitable behind the scenes documentary that will most likely be available at some time as well! It is going to be interesting to watch. I am sure there are going to be oh so many people who have worked on this project who would love to speak their mind, but cant because of NDA´s that are still in effect due to the project still being ongoing. Wonder how it would be to work on such a project. You would most likely have lots of frustrations at having to redo things, but at the same time get a lot of stuff to put on your resume for the future. If nothing else at least all of this money is going into some actual work, and not just into Robert´s bank account. So even if it all fails utterly, at least it will have helped generate a lot of people with a lot of knowhow on how to create next generation games.
