  1. Firstly I love how the conversation turned into talking about how much money does it cost to fill you up. :P Anyways I have an update: My team and I have decided that Project Finite will have to wait. We have decided to start smaller due to lack of funds on our end. My idea is that my GoFundMe would launch but it didn't. We are going to make a quest mod for New Vegas. Think of this as a stepping stone to working on larger things down the line. I don't want to give details about the quest yet. Just know that there are going to be a ghost town, cannibals, and riddles. Cheers, audley Team Hollow
  2. Our official website (undergoing construction) is here. Though I would be glad to give more details! I am in what I call "Phase Let's Go!" Which really is me trying to get the word out and start forming the team. The overall project plan (once I have enough support) is to first make a professional website and forums. Much like how STEP is laid out. The goal of this is so that people who have always had an idea for a game or mod for Fallout or The Elder Scrolls can speak their mind and give input. Once we have enough ideas generated by the community for a rough outline, then starts concept planning. From there we will start generating level idea, asset design, and overall game mechanics. Production of the actual game will not begin until we have a good idea of how the game is going to go. The game itself is going to be very story driven and player focused. Things will always be happening in the world. I want the world to notice the things you do. The player is going to have to choose his decisions very carefully. The overall idea is not simply magic+guns+war. It is going to be carefully designed. Every aspect of this game is going to have great consideration. "Project Finite was the idea that someone could be turned into something else. Beyond human. But that was the problem. Once people started disappearing in the middle of the night did things start to go crazy. Though now? You will never find the true answers. No one will talk about it. It doesn't exist. Go back to your home and pretend none of this ever happened. Keep asking questions and you will soon find yourself lost. Remember: War never changes. But men, men change. Never forget Adam."
  3. Note: This is not an advertisement. I am asking for feedback from STEP because this is my favorite gaming community. Hello STEP community! Audley here. I am making this post to ask for some constructive feedback on my upcoming project: Project Finite. I have started a modding team by the name of Team Hollow. Which currently consists of about three people so far. So what is Project Finite (PF) you ask? Well, PF is an ambitious project to make a standalone video game using the Unreal Engine 4. The game will be an action role-playing game heavily inspired by the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series. I got the idea one day by jokingly saying to myself: "Well, why don't I make my own Fallout?" after being incredibly frustrated by New Vegas' performance issues. Ever since then, I have been learning, practicing, researching, and planning this project. And that was about 5 months ago that I started. I would also like to say this project is 100% non-profit and if the game is ever released it will be completely free. I know what you are probably thinking at this point: "Well that is all fine and dandy Audley, but you do realize that making a video game requires a massive amount of time, money, and people don't you?" Therein lies my issue. The problem is not money, the problem is people. If I cannot get a community around this project to launch it, then all my work will have been for nothing. While I can post modding job offers on sites like ModDB, unless I can get a solid community of people to back the project and offer ideas then this project will die. I have tried using sites like GoFundMe and Kickstarter to gain support and funds for this project, I have been failing simply because I have no community to back the project. I want this game to be made for the community by the community. I am heavily invested, motivated, and dedicated to this project. I really would like it to succeed. So I am asking the STEP community (i.e. you guys) what are your thoughts, constructive feedback, ideas, and general advice. The goal of this post is not to advertise. However, if you would like to help in any way then please send me a PM. Thanks for reading guys and any advice you give. This is definitely the best gaming community on the web; you guys are awesome!
  4. LOL. Sorry :P I didn't mean to sound so upset. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. On another note: how is that banner I made for you working out Ess?
  5. As a graphics artist I would like to point out how difficult the job is. It's easy to criticize EWI's work. If you know how to do it then I urge you to do so; since you know how not to do it. I have uploaded single textures before and I have a reason for doing so. Texturing is a lot of work. Sometimes you just want peoples opinions before you make one large pack. I will say I am biased here because EWI is my friend and he helped me a lot when I was learning how to texture. I for one think he is a great texture artist. If you differ that's fine. I just don't think it's fair to classify an entire group of artists as "touchy."
  6. I ruled out the .bsa issue because if the game won't load due to a mod (or too many .bsa's) it won't show any error message. The game will either not start at all or it will crash. Since there is an error message I am thinking it has to do with the executables. Though I have been wrong before too. So I think it's still something we should check just in case.
  7. The obvious thing (you probably already checked this, but I want to rule it out anyway) is to make sure the file path is correct in MO's executable menu. That aside, it sounds like something may be blocking MO from accessing FNV 4GB. Is your Steam library located in your programs folder? If it is then it needs to be moved out. You can also try right-clicking FNV 4GB (in your NV folder) and setting it to be run as an administrator. I would also turn UAC off (User Account Control) and see if that works. I also noticed that MO just updated. So you can try updating and see if that works. Lets say that all the stuff I said above is true. Your Steam folder is somewhere else, you are running FNV 4GB as an admin, UAC is off, the file path is correct, etc. And it is not a problem with MO being able to access the executable. Hmmm. Are you running an ENB? Check those things out. And if you still need help post again and we can go from there. Don't worry, we will get this sorted out. :)
  8. Try this: Open Nvidia Inspector and go to Fallout New Vegas. Then, reset everything back to defaults. Add the following .exe's to the list: falloutMO.exe and fnv4gb.exe. Then hit apply to force the default settings. Make sure all the settings are set to application controlled. This is what fixed it for me. Edit: Here is a picture https://puu.sh/dYxft/f306d97640.png
  9. In my experience if the game loads but freezes/crashes right before the main menu, it means that one of your .esp's could have gotten corrupted somehow. If this is the case, it would be most likely from merging. I would uncheck your merged mods one by one and load the game and see if that works. If not then it might be an ENB issue. Try removing the d3d9.dll from your NV folder and place it on the desktop. Load the game and see if it runs. Check those and if neither of those things work we can go from there. I also recommend starting a post in the Troubleshooting thread if the issue persists.
  10. Any update on this issue? Sorry no one got back to you. I think it's because of how strange the issue is. Give me an update and then we can go from there.
  11. Rebuild your bashed patch, start a new game and see if everything is okay.
  12. Uncheck all the mods that are merged via the Merge Plugins Script. Sometimes they can mess up and cause the game not to start. Disable them one at a time and start the game.
  13. How many .bsa's do you have? This sounds like you have too many.
  14. Before I go any further I should ask when installed the UI section. Because if you answer today then my previous post will be moot.
  15. Either one of the Darnified UI files is being overwritten or one got removed somehow. Open on Mod Organizer and open Darnified UI and go to the conflicts tab. Is there anything overriding it? If it is either Project Nevada, MCM, or The Weapon Mod Menu move Darnified UI after those. However if it is One HUD then leave it alone. Also make sure you followed the instructions to add the optional Darnified UI files from Project Nevada which has to be done manually. Check that and then come back and tell me what you found.
  16. With MO and New Vegas to use an ENB w/ the 4GB launcher you need to place the .d3d9 in the root folder and NOT the exes folder created by the 4GB loader. Even though everyone says otherwise. Though I don't know why considering that has never worked for me.
  17. Are you running a bashed or merged patch? What mods are you running?
  18. I had this issue with both Google Chrome and Opera and I couldn't figure it out even after doing all the "fixes." The only thing that fixed this issue is to use the nxmhandler that is in the same place where you install MO. Open it and hit "set active" and hopefully doing this will solve the problem.
  19. I think the game relies more on GPU power than on CPU power. Though I will tell you this after years of playing this game on PC. Most likely any performance issues you are having with the game are not caused by your hardware. The game just isn't as optimized as it could be. Unless you are running all the high resolution texture packs at max then I doubt you are running out of VRAM. Your CPU is obviously more than enough for the game and your GPU is fine. I am running a stock 4670 and a GTX 760 and I can maintain about 60 FPS throughout the entire game with little to no drops in performance. What I do is turn off the ingame Vsync and force the Adaptive Vsync along with tripple buffering through the control panel. This usually takes care of MOST of my performance issues with the game.
  20. What Butcher said. If you have the system you can increase the LOD quite a bit at the cost of some performance. Check the tweakguide for Fallout 3 (Works with NV) for some basic tweaks: Link. As someone who experimented with trying to get a better looking NV it seems nearly impossible. D: This is one reason why a lot of people use a DoF and blur the distant terrain so your eyes don't focus on the mis-colored or low detailed LOD. I was wondering if you have Archive Invalidation on in MO because your roads are vanilla but some others things are texture packs. Or if you manually removed the road textures yourself.
  21. Ya sadly it is. You could turn up the uGridstoLoad but that may destroy your performance and cause instability but I don't think it is worth it. Though if you think that is bad you should see the Xbox version *shudders*.
  22. BUT you probably have a lot of people willing to help you. I am totally on board with the idea of different packs and modules. I can help with anything: testing, writing, etc. The main problem with adding your own mods to F&L and using it as a base is that NV's plugin limit is nearly reached. Making it nigh impossible to add something without removing something else.
  23. It just stops once you start it? Could you take a picture? I have never seen this problem before. Are you running FNVEdit as an admin?
  24. Okay. I do believe that FNVEdit still needs the default games Plugins List located in C:UserspcAppDataLocalFalloutNV at least once. I don't know why but I have had a similar issue before. Could you humor me and go to C:UserspcAppDataLocalFalloutNV and just check if the Plugins.txt is there? Also is there a plugins list in the MOProfiles folder? This way we can at least rule it out.
  25. Ya it's safe to clean those. EssArrBee knows a bout it he just has not added it to the guide yet.
