Just got second GTX 560 Ti - SLI Setup Q's
torminater replied to Holymartyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
OK, so right now I'm sitting inbetween those two graphic cards: https://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4373#sp ~ 478 € https://www.gainward.com/main/product/vga/pro/p00868/p00868_datasheet_4204f8e7c19281df.pdf?s=92 ~ 510 € They really don't give themselves a lot, but the phantom is slightly better at performance at least what I saw from the dozen of benchmarkings I've worked through... What do you guys think? Is Gainward winnwing over Gigabyte that much that it is worth 30 Euros? It doesn't REALLY matter in this price catagory though. x-P -

That's cool. I'm currently thinking about this one https://www.gainward.com/main/product/vga/pro/p00868/p00868_datasheet_4204f8e7c19281df.pdf?s=92 ... At least the model is the one of my choice. What do you think about those two producers: https://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-2686-KRR (sorry wrong link -fixed), https://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4373#sp? I've had so far really good experiences with gainward, but I know the other two are great as well... The other variant would be this one: https://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-3673-KR -
Just got second GTX 560 Ti - SLI Setup Q's

Oh really? I've never heard of that?Do they really have 4GB Vram on a single GPU or are they pseudo-4GB SLI GPUs? -
Just got second GTX 560 Ti - SLI Setup Q's
torminater replied to Holymartyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well that answers my question very well :D Now: I used SLI configs for over 5 years ... and I want to change back to single gpu. I actually want to stick to Nvidia, but which graphic card is the best? I want to invest in a graphic card that offers me a maximum amount of vram and a maximum performance (clockwise) at the same time. If I look at the nvidia graphic cards the upmost vram-wise is 2048 MB per GPU. So the "best" single GPU would be the GTX 680 (~550,- €). Do you guys know of any benchmarking that showcases the performance of the 680 versus the 690 (~1000,- €) with SLI disabled? That's what would interest me the most. Neovalen, you use the GTX 670 (~440,-€), would you recommend it price/performance wise over the newer models? But of course ATI is more than worth being mentioned as well. I've heard of the AMD Radeon™ HD 7970 GHz edition and normal edition. I don't really know what the difference is, except that they differ in some things but not one version is everywhere higher than the other... I don't get it. I never was much of a ATI-freak. Anybody any insights on this? -

So does the GTX 690 need SLI enabled or not??? -
Just got second GTX 560 Ti - SLI Setup Q's
torminater replied to Holymartyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
OK, I'm thinking about getting myself a new graphics card. Since I'm not all to happy with the support of SLI technology, I'ld like to stick to a single graphics card. Now I know one of the newest graphics cards from NVidia has 2 GPU's, does that mean they need to be in SLI to get it's full potential? Cuz that would suck. -

Enabling 3D and disabling it ingame won't work anymore to get rid of the SLI Bugs. -

torminater replied to Holymartyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
OK, I've got some news for you: The SLI "Fix" no longer works. At least not with the whql 310 drivers from Nvidia. So, the only possible fix is to disable SLI completely. Which sucks... Badly. -

IceWraithParticle Effect on Player - Glitch
torminater replied to torminater's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Has nobody got any further ideas how to get rid of this effect? I checked my papyrus log and it says sth like "icewraithparticlesscript.OnEffectStart ()". Can I somehow STOP this damn script or shut it down via the console? -
IceWraithParticle Effect on Player - Glitch
torminater posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
Hey Fellas, I got this weird glitch and supposedly it is from Vanilla Skyrim. Since it was kinda hard to find anything about it, here is a reference I found. https://www.gameskyrim.com/ice-wraith-particle-effect-stuck-the-feet-character-t223585.html Anybody who encounters this issue will probably be thankful to find out about it :D OK, sry, I need help. I posted this thread before I actually tried the "fixes". None of those commands worked for me. Anybody any other suggestions? I tried everything I could think of... UPDATE!!! For fixing this issue it is necessary to open the console and type in player.addspell 000CAF8A Close the console and reopen it again. Type in player.removespell 000CAF8A Close the console and the ice effect should be gone. -
DROPPED Weapon Retexture Project - WRP (by Millenia)

Millenia has come back to Skyrim - a new retex was uploaded a couple days ago. Maybe there will be a continuation of MWRP? https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29730 -

If you say so... I personally went back from overclocking as it became to harsh on my piggy bank. -

VRAM - How do you not run out?
torminater replied to skyrimnub's question in General Skyrim LE Support
That's artifacting of your graphics card. The best would be to clean out your tower and disable all overclocking. Then check if you still get those errors, go back to a vanilla install of skyrim and if you STILL have those issues afterwards your graphics cards might already be on the brink of death. -
Tried it. works good. Starting a new game you can decide on your body weight (width or whatever it's called). If you put your slider somewhere in the middle, you'll have a body weight of 50. Each training day will let you gain more and more weight until you reach body weight 100. If you already start at 100 nothing will happen.

2 Problems, texture transparency and ugly black lines - [SOLVED]
torminater replied to acindron's question in General Skyrim LE Support
The black lines you are referring to popped up with I think the 1.7 update of skyrim. It's artifacting caused by light sources like fires, torches or spells. There is no fix I know for that except turning of AA. I tried hundreds of ini tweaks and couldn't get it working. -
He probably talks about shadow pixelation. The higher the value, the more blurred the shadows become.

My step by step S.T.E.P. procedure - [SOLVED]
torminater replied to eperdos's question in General Skyrim LE Support
UFO is completely compatible with convenient horses. Why don't just use both? STEP is only a baseline modding project, all the actual gameplay related stuff you can add in yourself. Modd your own game, man! 8-) -
I've put in about 300 hours. I'ld guess 100 hours in testing only.

TWO GTX 690s IN SLI MODE
torminater replied to Melkesideck's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
SLI sucks. You'll have to enable stereoscopic 3D in the nvidia Control panel, otherwise your water and HDR will be screwed. And enabling this will gnaw at your performance. Just telling you, so you don't get your hopes up and spend a couple thousand dollars...
