I had merged some mods and found that TES5Edit reported errors after the merge, but I saw that it had none before the merge. I loaded all my mods and checked to see if any had errors, and I found a few. I'm not sure what to make of these, or more importantly, if this is the appropriate place to post these. Anywhoo, here they are:

pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim
Muladhara86 replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
I've been poking around in TES5Edit and I see that Inconsequential NPCs has some Cell and Location conflicts with CWI. I'm also seeing Placed Object conflicts between BFT and NSutR/RBB, some navmesh conflicts between Sea of Ghosts and REGS - Cities, and Placed Object/Navmesh conflicts between FatT IV and ETaC Complete. Am I missing a patch somewhere? I'm not sure how to resolve these myself. -
Faulty Searches & No Content

My bad. I tried to search for an existing thread, but, you know. . . Out of curiousity, what section is the appropriate one? Could you link your thread for me please? -
pack Dreadflopps Modular patches
Muladhara86 replied to dreadflopp's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
I'm trying to merge the MMO patches relevant to my build, but I keep getting an error: "The following records failed to copy: MatchingSet "Matching Set" [PERK:00051B17] from file 53 TTR_Skill_Overhaul_LightArmor - WAF patch.esp GRUP Top "PERK" from file 53 TTR_Skill_Overhaul_LightArmor - WAF patch.esp" When I try to manually put that record into the merged patch I get this message: "Found a SPEL reference; expected: PERK" -
Ever since the forums came up every search I perform comes up empty, and when I try to find threads I've posted in my content page is empty. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Magic overhaul recommendations
Muladhara86 replied to Crimson13's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I liked TTRSO's magic modules because they don't stray too far from vanilla. It adds scaling and armor penalties to casting, but there are hardly any new spells (mostly conjuration). It fiddles with master level spells in an attempt to make them more practical, but I've never gotten far enough to try any. Mage Armor won't work with armor on; it also increases your unarmed damage. There's a perk in alteration that prevents you from being staggered while unarmored. The Enchanting perk tree now has a staff branch that gives you passive bonuses/quasi-dual-casting in your other hand, stuff like that. There's also a general rework of staves as well, and skill modules related to crafting attempt to shut down some of the loopholes. The heal living/dead spells damage the opposite kind of creature now. I'm not sure exactly how it interacts with ASIS, or if it even needs it. -
I was under the impression that we were to use HLE or HLE - SIC Edition, but not both.

SKYRIMLE Hidden Hideouts of Skyrim by lesi123
Muladhara86 replied to razcor's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
lesi123 has another mod that adds a hideout to each of the walled cites (HHoS - City Edition). So far I've only tested the one in Whiterun, but it works fine with SR:LE/REGS. -
SKYRIMLE Leazers Open Lock 2_0 by Leazer425
Muladhara86 replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I looked at that script again and saw that it's a .psc file, and so is the one from EBQO that it overwrites. MO doesn't say anything about conflicting .pex files; does that mean these are safe to use together? -

Muladhara86 replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I switched over to this shortly after posting, realizing that separate spells were likely the safest. However, while troubleshooting my setup I noticed that this modifies the same script as Even Better Quest Objectives (qf_mgritual05_000d0755). -

I see that Cutting Room Floor was updated recently. How is the update going to interact with REGS' CRF patch? -

I am curious as well. I hadn't been using it recently, as I have seen it pop up in Papyrus logs before a crash (not necessarily damning), because I haven't even played out the vanilla transformations, and because the Blight spells are OP. -

I've been using Knock for a while now. Should I stop? The .psc files look simple enough. -
Staged Conflict Resolution?
Muladhara86 replied to Muladhara86's question in General Skyrim LE Support
That does sound like what I need! I'm not sure I'm fully grasping it though; I'll have to read through it again when I'm more alert. After reading that, I'm still not sure how I should go about grouping my mods. It see,s as though ModGroups will need an entirely different grouping scheme than the makeshift one I used above. -
A facet of this post that I'm still curious about is staged conflict resolution. I rarely have long periods to work on this. I want to work on merge patches in stages, building smaller patches similar/overlapping mods, then carrying forward the changes into the next patch, etc., until I have one for my core group of stable mods. If I can get to a stable platform on which to mess around on, and if it'll be stable enough that I can do said modding while getting to finally experience DG/DB content I will be content. I think this should end up being a reasonable approach, but I'm not sure about the grouping specifics. Here are the mods and categories I will potentially be working with: A random REGS question: I don't care for EWDR v2+; can I use it, CWI, and ETaC - Winterhold w/o a patch, or is the ETaC Patch implying correctly that I must include the caverns if I want to get these three working together?

Combat overhaul mod recommendations?

What's your script load like? Did you have to disable any features? I've recently started using Deadly Combat without the locational damage. -
Overwhelmed by Conflict Resolutiion
Muladhara86 replied to Muladhara86's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I'm not sure how I could have missed the "Alpha" disclaimer. Now I'm really discouraged. EDIT: I am making headway. It's helping me understand what I'm really doing better than playtesting, in some ways. I feel like this helped make things feel a little more manageable. -

I'd also like to include my .ini files, since I hear changing values there can cause problems. I've built them from vanilla and included every change with comments. Skyrim.ini SkyrimPrefs.ini ENBLocal.ini -
I've been trying to get a modded version of Skyrim off the ground for months now, and I feel like I'm soo close. I recently discovered STEP and the guides and packs have been invaluable. My machine isn't the greatest, so when I started building SR:LE from the ground up I skipped a lot of purely graphical improvements. I then layered REGS on top of that, followed by most of VEGA Extended, and finally some choice mods. For testing, I have a series of completely vanilla saves to use, some made with "coc" commands and others with an .ini tweak for an alternate start. I even downloaded a vanilla save @ 81 with the MQ completed. I've used the console to boost my speedmult (ran from Riften to Falkreath to Solitude), to spawn in dragons at Whiterun, and to make myself godlike for a melee in Solitude. I've been able to get the game to run wonderfully in a vanilla state, a basic framework of mods (patches/fixes, models & textures, animations, some gameplay), and with just REGS. However, once I try a more comprehensive load order things stop working so well. I seem to have eliminated ILSs (all borderless fullscreen modes were the culprits). I am still getting random CTDs, usually after a loading screen, and especially after auto-loading after death. I've been using Skyrim Performance Monitor and I don't seem to be hitting the RAM limit. I should note that I am using SKSE v1.7.0 and ENBoost v5.0, and I've enabled Papyrus logging; I seem to have removed all mods with troublesome scripts by now. I'm pretty sure my problems can be solved by conflict resolution, but for a neophyte with little time to commit the prospect is overwhelming. I've already read the FNVEdit guide and I've watched Sharlikran's Conflict Resolution (rough draft) video. Even having recently read a post here on values that don't need a compatibility patch, each time I sit down to do this I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall. I've started this thread to solicit assistance, be it in the form of shortcuts I can take, new resources to reference, tips, tricks, advice, etc. What I've done so far is create an automatic patch through TES5Edit, then I set out by trying to forward the changes from the unofficial patches. I keep ending up running out of time in my modding sessions, and by that point I've got no idea if I've done more harm than good. Below, I have posted the mods I'm using. I've separated them by category and roughly arranged them by the order I want to load them in (I'm not sure how to arrange the follower mods, though). If I've greatly miscategorized something I can easily move it. I've been allowing LOOT to sort my load order and MO to sort my priority order. If you see any mods with glaring incompatibilities or redundancies that I've missed, or any that are known to be unstable, please let me know.

Magic overhaul recommendations

I want to second TTRSO. I use it with Stealth Skills Rebalances, Less Tedious Alchemy, and Smithing Perks Overhaul and it works wonderfully. I've merged all the TTRSO esp's without incident. -
Combat overhaul mod recommendations?
Muladhara86 replied to Solmyr's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yeah, as much as I want to use RotE, it's just ridiculously unbalanced. I've been considering just using ASIS and SkyTweak for all of my combat alteration; I'm just not sure how stable the scripts used by SkyTweak are. -
How accurate is the information in this post anymore? I see a few mods I use under the red.

Yeah, I can do that. I haven't had a chance yet due to a death in the family. I'll PM you. -

Oh man, I'll have to give this one a try. I'm currently using the TNF series of home remodels, but the Hjerim and Proudspire modules won't merge. -

I've been checking out some of the REGS modules, and I'm noticing a lot of spelling and grammatical errors. Daggercross Alley is a big offender; the generi-NPCs have misspelled names on mouseover and differently misspelled names in the subtitles. I'll post a more comprehensive list next week.
