Hmmm. Preliminarily, it doesn't seem to be working ... I got the "this save requires missing content" warning. Then the MCM didn't load quite right. I need to examine this more closely.

Well, I don't know either. That's the thing. I don't really know what goes on inside of skse. I just know that it makes magic, happen. :) So I don't know if swapping the skse functions would be bad for an in-progress game.

Sorry if I'm being repetitive, but - is it safe to upgrade my skse & skyui while I'm in the middle of a play through, or should I finish this game and then upgrade before starting another?

Need good advice on upgrading my PC
kylhwch replied to FuzzRocket9's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Consider the nVidia 750ti Super Clocked. It's about $140. I've had one for a year and it runs like a champ. It's got a ridiculously low power draw, so it runs quiet & cool, plus it's small enough that it will fit into almost any case. The SC version is factory clocked. https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-750Ti-GDDR5-Graphics/dp/B00IDG3IDO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1436627318&sr=8-1&keywords=nvidia+750+superclock This is the card that Falcon NW is putting in its budget boxes (which still costs $1700.) I wouldn't swap my 750ti card if I found a 9xx in my Christmas stocking. -
MO, by default, installs everything into the ../Skyrim/data/ folder. Sometimes, if the mod is zipped up in a way that preserves the folder structure strangely, MO can't determine where the data folder starts. So if you see a folder structure that looks like this: <data> _____ [DataFolder] _____ Readme.txt _____ Screenshot.jpg Then you'd want to click on [DataFolder] and set that as the data directory for MO. This helps MO know what the folder structure looks like so that MO can place the subfolders and esp file correctly. 99.99 times out of 100, you will want to do this. There are a few mods out these that need to go in a different folder, notably ENBs & SKSE, but the exceptions will tell you what their instructions are and you'll need to follow them closely.

bug Don't let the game auto load after death?

Thanks for the infos! I guess maybe I misunderstood what I saw. I won't worry about it, then. -
bug Don't let the game auto load after death?
kylhwch posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
Recently, I was browsing and noticed someone talking about how we shouldn't let the game reload if we die. Instead, we should quit out, restart the game, and then load from our last save. He mentioned something about a known bug with autoload. But I was in the middle of something and forgot where I read that or even if what the context was. When back and tried to find that remark again but couldn't. So have anyone of you heard this, too? Is this good advice? Or should I maybe lay off the drugs? -
Oh, cool, now I see it. That's very helpful, thanks. Perhaps, if I might suggest, a link under the Loot section, saying something like, "to see a full list of Step's Loot rules, click here". Cheers~
-
So a few pages back, I asked if there was a list or some way to tell which mods in the table would require a loot rule, and TechAngel85 replied as above. Did the issue ever get addressed? Is it there and I'm just missing something? If there was a list some where or even just a note on the page that didn't require opening the special instructions for a hundred mods, it'd be a real help.

I meant to quote one of the earlier posts, but accidentally hit the report button instead of the quote button and didn't realize until I'd typed up my reply and hit the submit button. So sorry to the mods and to the guy who I accidentally reported. I'm not going to type it all back out again, but suffice it to say that if backdoors are everywhere - and they totally are - there's no point in worrying about them. It's a lost cause. The horse has fled the barn, the milk has been spilt and the genie is out of the bottle. Forget about it and enjoy your burrito. https://xkcd.com/1269/

ACCEPTED Audio Overhaul for Skyrim (by David Jegutidse)
kylhwch replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Thanks very much for this! I can't wait to try it all out. -
Version 3.1 is out and basically feature complete: Version 3.0 -Modified stalking behavior, hunting will usually take place during daylight so tracks are easier to spot, NPCs are out and active to be questioned about your location, etc. Though sometimes NPCs will try to group up and ambush you at night. So stay on your toes! -Stalking behavior more random, less predictable. -Stalking now takes player sneaking into account, so thief types can try to sneak away to live another day. -Upgraded minion roster from 4 to 10. Two of the minions try to impersonate stealth mechanics. You're not the only one who can sneak or use poison now! -Modified all boss assassins. They now all have unique abilities for unusual fighting experiences. -Modified all the masks and their enchantments, with enchantments that mirror the boss abilities. A little like Skyrim Megaman. -Now 7 unique masks, plus two unique gender specific sets of armor. -Modified the final boss position + reward chest. -Added three different versions. -Modified music that plays while fighting the boss assassins, should now play already existing epic boss

ENBoost - new version notice on May 23
kylhwch replied to kylhwch's question in Post-Processing Support
Cool, thanks for the advice. -
I think this mod looks pretty great. It's still a work in progress, though. I'm not really sure how it fits into STEP, though. But, cool looking, definitely.
-
So I loaded up Skyrim tonight and where the usual notice is for using ENBoost without the graphics hack, I got the message that there was a new version out? I assume that's version 0.269 from here - https://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrim.htm Does Step (ie: you guys)recommend updating at this time or should I wait a little? I don't use ENB except for Boost.

Neovalen: You're my Only Hope!
kylhwch replied to thunderclam's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Helgen Reborn is cranky when you're near the memory limit. The mod author suggests temporarily cranking your graphics settings way down and seeing if that helps: From his FAQ - You might try asking over in the Helgen Reborn comments to see if they can help. -
LOL - Rustic is more draugr-y.
-
Yeah, I'm ready for Rustic Everything. Just back up the Rustic Truck and let it rip.

I've been using Ultimate Lighting Overhaul, which is another sweetfx setting, and I'm very pleased with it. I'm using the Fantasy Ultra settings, with the vibrance setting in the ULO_Fantasy_Ultra.txt bumped up about fifteen points. My graphics card is good but rather modest (nvidia 750ti). With ULO on that setting, I get no noticeable fps loss. It's a little noticeable slower to load at first, but as I play, it improves. I also have ENBoost & SKSE memory management so it's all good. I think ULO + ELFX or Relighting Skyrim to tidy up the interiors is a better solution than ENBs for most people who are looking for a "vanilla but better" lighting solution. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37846/?

The in-game soup looks gross, I think. This is way better. It comes in Fancy and Poor varieties. The Poor looks nice an rustic, imo. There are two variations of the Fancy tomato soup as well, Creamy or Chunky.

I find myself in the same boat. I've managed to bugger up the Loot masterlist and needed to reinstall the program (I'm using 0.7.beta4). That means I've lost all the Loot meta rules from STEP. Is there a list somewhere of which STEP mods include Loot rules? In future, would it be possible to indicate which mods need Loot rules in the table somewhere?

Unfortunately, if the last eight months have demonstrated anything, it's that law enforcement has a hard time taking online threats seriously. This is changing but probably not fast enough to do Chesko and Isoku any good.
