  1. Cause there's a later mod in the guide that adds a version that's compatible with the crafting mods etc.
  2. Yes, always a good idea. Cause you're not sure what records may have been changed in the updated mods.
  3. Ok finally got it all installed and managed to get all merged and good to go. Got to the first mine just out of Riverwood and got handed my ass. :) But I was expecting that so off to do some levelling :) Making sure all's stable etc and playing with Crash Fixes. If I can afford it I'll see about doing the timed install thing as a video.
  4. Don't suppose anyone's got Dragon Combat Overhaul handy?
  5. Bah, details, details :). I'm an Engineer. It's within my +/- parameters :D
  6. Say paul... just in your pre-requisites page when referring to Wrye Bash, it still refers to "for the purpose of this guide, only the Bashed Patch functionality will be used." Not a huge issue but it's not what Wrye's being used for in this guide. :)
  7. At some stage you just have to make a decision on what version of the guide you follow. This is why I always go back to the version of the guide I want to use via going back to previous versions.
  8. I usually just download THIS and extract the flg file and drop it in Skyrim Compilers directory.
  9. Well there ya go. You learn something everyday. Cheers Tech.
  10. welcome... but what in the 666 Hells is a Chiweenie? :D
  11. That is likely an antialiasing issue. What you've possibly done is turned on Anti-aliasing in the ENBlocal file, and not turned it off via the original skyrim launcher. Where you're asked to do a few changes to some parameters. With regards to ENB and presets and what everything in the files mean, I suggest looking at this page: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:ENB And I've just now noticed you're only running a 1GB card. With that sort of card I'd suggest you may not have the graphical oomph to run a full ENB in any case. Still, ENB's in themselves are not that difficult to install. You were half way there anyway doing what you did with the files from ENB 3.08. The next step is typically to choose a preset, download that and (at least 99% of the time) put the files in the Skyrim directory. Some more involved ENB's may have an installer for you to select the options you wish before you put the files into your Skyrim directory. Vividian ENB is one such example. Some may have their own esp files as well. Again, Vividian ENB does this. I can also recommend the guides that are in the downloadable file for Skylight ENB. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48730/? . Aiyen goes into enough depth that you'll know what all the parameters do and how to correctly install ENB's. It's also quite a nice ENB itself.
  12. No. What he's cool with is for people to do the work, submit it to him so he can post it himself, presumably with some credit for said person(s). That's a quantum different than some joker just posting it willy-nilly and not getting his permissions to do so.
  13. If they're not installed, the ESP's wont be there to merge, so correct you don't merge them. :) And nope you cant merge an esp twice.
  14. I haven't bothered starting on my install. Will start tomorrow when it's likely to be a bit quieter after the weekend.
  15. It is, however, probably not the best time to be trying to fix it, though.
  16. He probably hid it cause he has a new Birds nest texture in the hot files at the moment.
  17. Have you then added an ENB preset as well? Plus any other such lighting etc files that the ENB preset might ask for?
  18. It got nuked cause of lack of permissions, I believe.
  19. Don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out then, adios.
  20. And most no-steam cracks are illegal cause making them means you have to reverse engineer the original games intellectual property. However it depends on country. Some allow it, more don't. But if you're going to take that sort of attitude, don't expect a lot of help around here.
  21. Is the AchiveInvalidation.bsa the first entry in any lists it's in when you look at the 'archives' tab on MO?
  22. Doesn't really matter if it is. If you do back it up twice, just look at the file sizes of the backed-up files and delete the larger of the two.
  23. Bah, I laugh at download times :)
  24. I could live with the default UI if I had to in general use, but by the beard of Satan is it a PITA at character design. I need that fixed, STAT. I miss my RaceMenu too :) EDIT: I will give them some credit for the Mod Manager. I don't like it, but at least they tried.
