So would I use the ck to remove the reference, or could I use something like tes5edit to remove it? -
SKYRIMLE VioLens-A Killmove Mod (by Reko)
CovertSlinky replied to DoubleYou's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I am getting a good feeling that there is a link between the null quest error and the ranged kill cam locking bug. After some browsing, the ego thread on nexus has some posts related to this error that looks like the author refuses to address, as with most people coming at him with any problem really. Last post on that thread is this "And to follow up, a check of CDO showed: [00:03] Checking for Errors in [D7] CombatDramaOverhaul.esp [00:03] BulletTimeCamsNearQuickDUPLICATE001XX [CPTH:D70098E7] [00:03] CPTH Conditions Condition CTDA - Parameter #1 -> Found a NULL reference, expected: QUST [00:04] All Done! Which looks bad, as it's trying to access a variable in a null quest, which may be the source of some of your camera path crashes. I can't figure out what the proper quest should be for that camera path, so I look forward to seeing a patch in the next release. " So, my guess is that fixing this is not going to happen without the author doing so, or informing people of what the quest should be, so they could if they wanted. That quote was recent btw, posted three days ago. Wish I had more to go on, that poster was able to use the ck to fix the errors that are listed for DCO, which he posted just before the one I quoted. But he couldn't for that error, which why I know I for one will not be able to do anything about it, I am noobishly ignorant with the ck. -
There is a new version of TES5Edit available now, 3.0.33 with alot of fixes. For those that are interested. EDIT: Removed the link I provided, believe I don't have the right to do that.

SKYRIMLE VioLens-A Killmove Mod (by Reko)

I feel the same, I too turn off the ice cause of that same reason, especially at lower levels, and you don't have the dragonrend shout. So you do alot of waiting while firing away with your bow, and nothing more annoying while trying to maneuver around all the solid ice that has formed around you. It looks cool when you first use it, but after that, it's a real bugger. Author should really look into creating a timer for it to fade away. I have set up emo, didn't care for it much further than playing custom music. I understand the authors thoughts on how retarded vanilla combat music (or just music instances altogether for that matter) can get, but in all honesty his mod is just as capable of being retarded. If you kill a hostile to quick (like really quick), the music will carry on for a while after the fact. If you engage, disengage and then re-engage, the music will never come back. Feel like I am nit-picking, but I don't feel it is worth it. for me anyways. And I haven't got my civil war on either, right now I am about to go to kalvengruud, lol, I know that's wrong but whatev's, where you get the jagged crown from. As for the tes5edit error and the bug we are referencing, I am trying to dig into that right now and see if I can find a possible link, I'll post back with what I find. -

Fair enough, thank you. And I think your presumption is reasonable, cause I do not see much information on it, other than personal opinion. So, is interesting, makes me more thoughtful about my mod setup. Thanks for the input. -
SKYRIMLE VioLens-A Killmove Mod (by Reko)
CovertSlinky replied to DoubleYou's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I use EGO (epic gameplay overhaul) which obviously includes CDO, and I to had the same problem as Irish did. I got rid of it. Thought about DoD, but never got around to it. But I see this, and everyone seems sure that this is better (feature wise atleast). So I am going to look at this. So, are there any known issues in-regards to step and this mod that I should know about to make sure it works properly? Feel pretty sure there isn't, but I feel inclined to ask, just to be er, more...sure lol. -
A few things, Shadriss, thought this could be helpful. I use realvision enb with elfx and cot. I get the same issue, the realvision author suggets changing these settings if you need to brighten things up To force a CoT weather, first open NMM - plugins and find out your HEX loadordernumber of ClimatesofTamriel.esm, as seen here. Remember this code and type "fw 0C02d46e" in console. "I have a dark landscape but it's bright out" Set EnableCloudShadows=false in enbseries.ini "Underwater is crystal clear" You're using Realistic Water Two and forgot to set bDoDepthOfField to 1 in your skyrimprefs.ini. "It's too dark inside" Increase AmbientLightingIntensityInteriorDay and AmbientLightingIntensityInteriorNight in enbseries.ini. "It's too dark outside at night" Increase AmbientLightingIntensityNight in enbseries.ini. "It's too bright outside" Decrease DirectLightingCurveDay in enbseries.ini. "The sun is too bright" Decrease SunIntensity and SunRaysMultiplier in enbseries.ini. The author lists a few more tweaks I didn't list on his nexus page. @redirishlord: I am looking into that OBIS mod, it sounds awesome. But I see that OBIS Redone overwrites files from SMIM and amidianborn, is it a problem? Or should I put it higher in the install order so SMIM and Amidianborn overwrite it?

Opinions on PC Built for Skyrim
CovertSlinky replied to Breems's question in General Skyrim LE Support
That makes understandable sense about the storage thing. I am not familiar with ssd speeds...yet. But it was my understanding that Skyrim does alot I/O on the disk, more so than most games, and especially when modded. So it was my belief that, a ssd would in-turn, show case a performance increase, how much, I am not certain. Maybe, I am just hoping that a ssd would offer more potential than what I would "really" see, more of "buying into the gimmick", however gimmick isn't quite the right word, but you know what I mean. -
Hmmm, I'll have to look into the aa as for my bug. I have your settings in for shadows atm, I don't mind them, they are subtle, but don't look terrible either. Will be doing some of my own testing on this soon. We really just need more collective information about the "Shadows of Skyrim" (oh, yup, I just copyrighted that :p), then a silver bullet for the shadows, seems like most info on the web you find are do or die settings, to much of one setting and not enough of another, mostly cause you can't get the settings fully optimal. Seems like it is another one of those tweaks that needs to be done per user for desired/preferred result.

Enchanting Mod Idea
CovertSlinky replied to Shadriss's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Liking your idea myself so far Shadriss. And I am thinking Kryptopyr as the simplest approach. Cause the only thing I see you running into headache wise(mostly...I think, lol) is then linking what you learned from said book, if you just read it and gained it, to the enchantment system to know that you did in fact "learn" it. -

Umm, well just bear in mind that those so called benchmarks are without a doubt, scoring vanilla skyrim and not modded skyrim. That system, running a modded skyrim, 50-60 fps ultra settings, I don't see it. For starters, you need to go ssd for modded skyrim, that hdd, as with all hdd, is the bottleneck. If ya want to know if there will be any conflicts with that setup (I didn't notice any), go to pcpartpicker.com, I use it and used it to build the rig I'm on now. It will tell you if there is a conflict, and it will also help you find the best price on the market for any part you are considering. And do you plan on running with the stock cooler? If so, I wouldn't plan on doing any OC'ing. And as long as you are buying those parts new, not used, you should have everything you need to assemble it, cables and what not, the mobo will /should supply most of what you need. But as long as you acquire a good psu, you got what you need to set it up (think it's safe to assume you will be using mice, keyboard, and monitor from your current rig, and have a copy of sorts for your OS of choice). And what psu you plan on acquiring from your friend? You won't need much for that get up, as far as wattage, I'd say a good 400 is fine, with just what I am seeing anyway, and no overclocking. You mostly need to pay attention to the amps being supplied on the voltage rails, +12v, +5v and +3.3v, listed in priority respectively. I would say somewhere around 26 amps on the 12v, 10 amps for the 5v and and 6 amps for the 3.3v. Any good modern psu will inform you of it's amperage capability. That is the most important piece of information about what psu to get, that most home brew don't know, cause they follow advice of wattage and are told nothing about amperage. If your rig needs more amps than the psu can supply and hoping that the psu has some sort of mosfet protection, it will just shutdown. But if it doesn't, then more likely you are going to fry the psu along with some hardware component's. -

LOL, yeah I have read your signature several times. I actually don't fully have a problem that led me to this. I just went and did it out of curiosity, then got overwhelmed with the results. I'm getting the idea of it's relevance now, as for a good way to help troubleshoot a problem, no? So, the errors, are they errors within a mod alone? Or are they errors that form in conjunction with other mods? Like, the mods that popped errors, could I load it by it's lonesome, check for errors and see the same results? And, if a mod shows errors, does it mean that there really is a problem, or just potential for a problem? -
I could use some help understanding this. My google search didn't do much good, mostly led me to mod cleaning info, which I am already familiar with. It's a huge list, I apologize, I had to place it in a text doc because I couldn't get this thread to post otherwise, page kept timing out. I am willing to just accept information useful for understanding this. But, if someone is willing to look at it, and discuss it with me, would be appreciated. This is one part of modding skyrim I have yet to gain knowledge of. My knees are hurting to much from the arrows, so I am ready to start using it :) Regards, Slink

Random CTD, how to figure out what is wrong
CovertSlinky replied to minos55's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I do use the newest LOOT, but all I can say is LOOT sorting is dynamic, I have mods that you don't, and LOOT does sorting based on conflicts (and other things I'm sure). Don't have a reason to believe it's wrong, so I go with what LOOT is giving me. -

Ok, well that blows down my theories. Your card is really good, but I would still question the ugrids, even if you use stable ugrids, it can lead to some problems when mixed with other settings. Try doing what Aiyen said, and see what that gets ya. -

What graphics card you using? Is it the built in intel gpu? See you have ugrids at 7, before I know if those settings are good I need to know how good your card is or isn't. You didn't list it in your specs, so I assume you are using the built in intel chip. Heres my load order, I have quite a few more mods than you, and with the way LOOT dynamically sorts the order it might not help ya. # This file was automatically generated by Mod Organizer.Skyrim.esmUpdate.esmUnofficial Skyrim Patch.espDawnguard.esmUnofficial Dawnguard Patch.espHearthFires.esmUnofficial Hearthfire Patch.espDragonborn.esmUnofficial Dragonborn Patch.espSkyrim Project Optimization - Full Version.esmClimatesOfTamriel.esmLanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Main.esmhdtHighHeel.esmApachiiHair.esmApachiiHairMales.esmApachiiHairFemales.esmSexLab.esmSharedSeranaDialogue.esmRaceCompatibility.esmRSkyrimChildren.esmHighResTexturePack01.espHighResTexturePack02.espHighResTexturePack03.espUnofficial High Resolution Patch.espCutting Room Floor.espWhen Vampires Attack.espAnimated Weapon Enchants.espRainbows.espFCO - Follower Commentary Overhaul.espImmersiveFP.espAuto Unequip Ammo.espBWS.esp83Willows_101BUGS_V4_LowRes.espGuard Dialogue Overhaul.espElemental Staves.espTeraArmors-CBBEByNausicaa.espDawnguardRuneWeaponsFXSReplacer.espFNISSexyMove.espClamsDropPearls.espCharacterMakingExtender.espChesko_LoreBasedLoadingScreens.espBetterQuestObjectives-Hearthfire.espfFastTravelSpeedMult_4.espNewmillerCeremonialRobesCBBE.espCoT-WeatherPatch.espSupreme Storms - Cot Version.espCoT-WeatherPatch_SupStorms.espConvenient Horses.espDefault Teammate Weapon Draw Distance.espConvenient Horses - Unique Frost.espCoT-WeatherPatch_Snow-40.espAlfheimKnights.espClimatesOfTamriel-Dragonborn-Patch.espCoT-WeatherPatch_DB.espEnhancedCharacterEdit.espDual Wield Parrying_SKSE.espEnhancedLightsandFX.espELFX - Exteriors.espELFX - Dawnguard.espELFX - Dragonborn.espFootprints.espFootprints - Ash.espGrass On Steroids.espDead Body Collision.espLingerieSetCBBE3_2ByNausicaa.espAppropriately Attired Jarls Redux.espBeards.espLock Overhaul.espBrows.espDraconic Bloodline.espThundering Shouts.espMoss Rocks.espMoss Rocks_DB.espNausicaa's Tweaker.espNewVampChainsCuirass.espTheEyesOfBeauty.espORM-Arvak.espRealistic Running Speed.espShootingStars.espSkyUI.espTradeBarter.espDual Sheath Redux.espSoul Gems Differ.espWeapons & Armor Fixes_Remade.espWeapons & Armor_TrueOrcish&DaedricWeapons.espADS.espClothing & Clutter Fixes.espELFXEnhancer.espHelgen Reborn.espSexLab Romance.espAshley.espSkyrimCoinReplacerRedux.espDistant DetailHF.espJojjos Warglaives.espSilverlight Armor.espSkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB.espBring Out Your Dead.espBetterQuestObjectives.espAmazingFollowerTweaks.espThieves Guild Requirements.espBetterQuestObjectives-Dawnguard.espBetterQuestObjectives-AFTPatch.espMBWS Lovely Girl Followers.espRSChildren - Complete.espRSChildren_PatchUSKP.espSPTConsistentOlderPeople.espOblivion Gates v3 without Markers - Skyrim + Dawnguard DLC.espBirdsHFclean.espDogs-of-Skyrim.espExplosiveBoltsVisualized.espGunblade.espSDO Full-LOD - Waterfall Effects.espPoint The Way.espRealisticWaterTwo.espAOS.espIHSS.espWetandCold.espWetandCold - Ashes.espQuieterDogs.esprandomthunder.espImportantInformationOverhaul.espaMidianBorn_ContentAddon.espComplete Crafting Overhaul_Remade.espCivil War Overhaul.espFireAndIceOverhaul.espDeadlySpellImpacts.espViceroyInquisitor.espRealisticWaterTwo - Legendary.espRun For Your Lives.espQaxeWinterholdRebuild.espTheChoiceIsYours.espMarriable Serana.espMarriable Serana HF.espSkyrimImprovedPuddles-DG-HF-DB.espSDO Full-LOD - Whiterun Trundra Creeks.espHearthfireChimneys.espDungeonQuestAwareness.espSpousesEnhanced.espDragonCombatOverhaulDragonborn.espmanny Lantern Caretakers.espPilgrimsDelight.espThe Paarthurnax Dilemma.espNoxUE2.00.espSpousesEnhanced_Serana.espdD - Enhanced Blood Main.espSTEP Extended Patch.espAOS2_FIO Patch.espAOS2_DCOd Patch.espKonnektorDragonborn.espImproved Closefaced Helmets_Legendary.espDragonShoutVoice.espParalyze.espAOS2_CoT3_1_patch.espClimatesOfTamriel-Dawnguard-Patch.espImproved Combat Sounds v2.2.espNonEssentialChildren.espRSChildren_PatchNEC.espRadiant and Unique Potions Poisons and Booze.espTearofAbyss.espRing of Change.espBlockSparkles.espGildergreen Regrown.espSDO Full-LOD - Giant Campfires.espEquipping Overhaul.espTheChoiceIsYours_Dawnguard.espWitch Battle Armor.espApachiiHelmetWigs.espBabetteReplacer.espFNISspells.espChesko_Step418_SN.espiHUD.espmintylightningmod.espAlternate Start - Live Another Life.espBashed Patch, 0.espDual Sheath Redux Patch.esp -
Random CTD, how to figure out what is wrong
CovertSlinky replied to minos55's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Oh, maybe I can still help, ok, lol. CCO - Complete Crafting Overhaul IF you allowed MO to "fix" the load order, it doesnt mess with the plugins list, it changes things in the mod list, your install order, MO left Pane is mod list, MO right pane is plugin list. Look at your left pane in MO, mod order, and if CCO is located near the bottom of the list, or just anywhere AFTER SMIM - Static Mesh Improvement Mod, you need to place it back where it belongs, Which belongs in the fixes order, between Weapon and Armor Fixes and XP32 Maximum Skeleton - XPMS. EDIT: made an error with the MO layout, the pane designation incorrect (left/right) -
Random CTD, how to figure out what is wrong
CovertSlinky replied to minos55's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Is that the load order LOOT has generated for you? Also, did you allow MO to "fix" your potential load order problem, if you followed it's recommendation of placing CCO after SMIM, revert it back. Ummm, from my knowledge COT can sometimes interfere with AOS, so I would place AOS after all COT plugins. The last time I had a problem with true random CTD's, I put AOS after all COT plugins and my CTD's went away. Just some rough ideas to think about. EDIT: Ok, I am actually somewhat wrong, I looked more at my own load order again, and I thought all of the COT plugins were after AOS, but appearently the COT dawnguard patch got loaded after all of the AOS plugins, but it is the only one that is after AOS. So maybe what I said isn't true, and now I need to figure out what exactly did fix my own problem, oh for the love of talos, I am not helping, ok backing away now. -
Ok, this thread needs some love :) I am about to test these things out myself and see what I prefer. Right now I don't have that bubble effect, although I have seen it before. But what one weird thing I am getting since making adjustments to the ini's for shadows per the nexus guide listed earlier in this thread, "skyrim stability guide". I get this strange white glowing aura that is casted a small radius off of my players head whenever I ride a horse, it radiates out and in with the bobble effect from riding the horse, it is really weird. @DoubleYou Are you still using the ini shadow tweaks? Or have you went to enb shadows? @Spock did your friend ever get anywhere with that test you wanted him check?

The War on Microstutter/Input Lag
CovertSlinky replied to Breems's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yeah, and the fps limiter has a tendency to go 2.1 frames past what you set it at, so if you want 60 then set it to 57.9. Just a lil trivial non sense I thought I would add....for what sounds like no reason now lol :) -
Yep, and as someone told me once in here, if the step patch appearing with a red box is just to much of a bother for ya, like it was for me, call me whatcha want to but I want to see green lights across the board :) You can use TES5Edit to sort the masters of the step patch and it will look green in wrye bash again. When you load TES5Edit, leave everything checked in the plugin list that appears at the beginning and then press "ok". It might take a while for it to load all that up, but when it's finished, scroll down to the step patch and right click it and press "sort masters", it's done in an instant. Then just close it, and a menu will pop up asking you if you want to save a backup, I never do. Now, every time your load order changes cause either you added something or removed something, LOOT might sort your plugins differently enough to make the step patch masters be out of order again, so just re run through the same process again.

The War on Microstutter/Input Lag
CovertSlinky replied to Breems's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Hey, I have this same problem, I'm AMD, I use enb windowed fullscreen mode with fps limiter. And when I go into interiors, and then jittery camera movement annoys too much, I use enb's hotkey to turn off fps limiter, and voila it's gone. I know, it isn't quite the answer I was wanting either cause I don't like seeing my frames skyrocket as high as they can in interiors, 80 mostly, but well over 100 at times. But my card never seems to go over 64 degrees celsius and thats within the tdp limit. Idk, up to you if you wanna do this to eliminate it or not, I have found no other alternative method. I just chalked it up to, if, skyrim isn't being vsync'd, then it wants frames to run freely, if my frames can get over 60 (which is what I limit it to, tis my refresh rate) then this jitter always occurs. -
Could CCO be causing a conflict somehow, I know it doesn't have it's own animations, but it does function with the vanilla animations for mining, and if I am not mistaking the MCM menu for CCO has options to tweak the mining functionality. Maybe it isn't actually an animation root cause, as maybe it's a script issue. Perhaps CCO isn't calling the proper script for the mining animation to begin. Just a thought.

Extremely Weird Lag On Walking
CovertSlinky replied to Drakoktonos's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Maybe it's vsync, I am having a bit of a rough time understanding you (no offence intended). But this sounds like a bit of the reason why I chose to run with enb's fps limiter. I run with enb's 2 windowed options on, so vsync causes all kinds of weird things to happen. Alot of people chalked up what I feeling as vsync stutter, but I never posted much about it cause I just couldn't explain it right, which is what I am thinking you are too. So, try turning off vsync and run with the fps limiter on and see if that helps, maybe also give the windowed options a go along with the fps limiter as well. If you are having the trouble I was having, the fps limiter is what helped for me, also bear in mind that nothing is perfect, so fps limiter can come with it's own side effects as well. If your frames are high enough, 60+, then the camera can act funny, it is not a problem for me at all, it just gets slightly annoying at times. This mostly happens to me in interiors were my frames run upward of 80, so if I get to annoyed by it, to combat this, I just turn fps limiter off in-game using the enb hotkey which the default key I believe is home or end. Also, sometimes you will see npc's while walking, stop doing there walking animation, and instead "float" if you turn off the fps limiter, regardless of your frame rate. Hope this helps. Regards, Slink
