SKYRIMLE Osmodius Solitude Texture Pack (by osmodius)
Kuldebar replied to phryxolydian's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
It's hard for me to say "no" to a parallax texture pack though, I love the effect. I'm running some tests on things before a new play-through, the Solitude Textures look nice overall but the choice in masonry styles was my least favorite aspect. I ended up using the alternate interior and base sets...which I found more pleasing. But, still not quite right, in my opinion. Langley's Solitude got it near 100% in many respects but suffers a little fuzziness resolution-wise in some places. I think a simple blend is in order, seems to rid me of the things I like least: This only leaves about 18 files un-conflicted of Osmodius' Textures, but I like the result. -
That page was very helpful in the past and I certainly don't think it will cause issues if people still rely on it, but the many of those settings have fundamentally changed with the last several ENBseries binary updates. [MEMORY] ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true DisableDriverMemoryManager=false DisablePreloadToVRAM=false EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false ReservedMemorySizeMb=### <---this can be changed on the fly, while in the game. It also has been directly recommended by Boris for some users with lower amounts of VRAM to use larger amounts. VideoMemorySizeMb=0 <---setting not necessary if AutodetectVideoMemorySize=true EnableCompression=false <----dependent on the system, compression enabled can cause stutters and freezes, so each user should see which is best for them AutodetectVideoMemorySize=true <---works really well, very rare the need to ever override the automatic setting

So I was coc'ing around testing out some new mod changes and outside Riften's Stables I run into an assassin but having neglected food water and sleep during my test...the assassin kicks my ass. I go into a downed state and stay there until the horse and the guards finish off the attacker and the combat ends, I then and able to use some potions and revive myself. -

I think Aiyen will agree...the whole topic has been a tad headache inducing and it's spread out through 3 threads, lol. -

I won't pretend I understand all the details being discussed. But, once I stopped extracting the Unofficial Patch BSA's the issue was resolved for me. (I no longer had to manually hide the two facegen files) -

My game is installed on my SSD, but STEAM still thinks it is on my larger conventional drive in the default location. Works flawlessly. -
I've only used Touring Carriages once...it was a bit too beta for me with the jostling cart running over animals and small children and old women. Now that BFTC&S has been spruced up, it is in masterpiece territory. The mod functions precisely like the vanilla carriages in game except you have them at more locations throughout the game world. You have a toggle ability for many of the cart locations, plus carriage fee controls and follower support.

Same here! With BOSS I had 29 User List Rules, with LOOT I have 2, and those are to hand the SPERG Override Patches for two of the Skill Trees. -
I suspect that scripted events will still occur despite conservative actor distance values with a higher uGrids because scripted actor will override normal actor values....that's my prediction. Obviously, I would like to have my cake and eat it too. :p You know, there's still those people out there that post things like, "I've been runnin' uGrids 26 for perk-near 45 years and haven't had a lick of trouble with quests!" Now, I don't necessarily believe them, and also...they may not even realize what's being borked up. For me, sometimes I have to see the vanilla behavior of things to refresh my perspective on certain mods, in Skyrim it is way too easy to get tunnel vision and adjust to a "new" normal.

You mean Phryxolydian :p And, technically, you aren't dying, you just might wish you did, lol. Depending on your settings....all your gold may go bye bye if you have it on you at the time you are defeated/captured/jailed/beaten or otherwise abused. Also, followers can die or be dismissed, there are debuffs as well. And then tehre's the whole getting out the mess after being defeated challenge. -

I asked about that many pages back. The short answer is "no". Navmesh nightmare issues with the Dawns of Series and some other REGs Cities stuff. CJ had looked into it, his response is somewhere around here. I've only ran into one issue so far with LOOT and it was a matter where LOOT would have had to be psychic in order to sort the mod a certain way. It had to do with a Smithing Skill Tree Override Patch for SPERG and Smithing Perks - COMPLETE. A simple User Rule took care of the issue. -

If he had said that to me it would have saved me a lot trouble and it would not have been all that confusing. So the new standard will have us all placing the Official DLC's in the MO's folder system? -

When I used SkyRe I always let SUM do that for me, there was a check box to ensure BOSS didn't run and hose your load order up. SUM - SkyProc Unified Manager by Leviathan1753

Ramifications of BSA Extraction in Mod Organizer
Kuldebar replied to z929669's question in Mod Organizer Support
Outside of what I previously stated, everything else is hunky-dory with MO. The issue involved users being left in the dark about how the official files/DLC's were being treated when left in their default locations and the interaction between the mods like the Unofficial Patches and relevant priorities. -

Yes, he did state that, as you said, he is "against" BSA Extraction. Unfortunately the articulation of why he was against it was not so very clear and honestly seemed to be rather arbitrarily dismissive in general which for people who like to think things through is just begging the question to the nth degree. After actual conversations. albeit somewhat tedious in nature, and the sharing of information and experiences, I have come to the conclusion that BSA Extractions messes up the execution of some things like the Unofficial Patches. -

I'd agree but the vampire fix problem was discovered to be caused, not by load ordering, but by the way MO treats the official DLC's when they are installed in the default universal manner and the Unofficial Patch BSA'a were extracted. Fixes that would not normally have been forwarded if the user had Dawnguard installed were indeed prioritized and caused a problem. Leaving the Unofficial Skyrim Patch in BSA form resolved this issue, much to the consternation of people like me. In electronics, we were taught a term "electrically the same" meaning no difference of potential. Up until the last few days, I had believed that MO would allow me to have my BSA's extracted and be "electrically the same" in regards to the application of the files if the files were placed in their proper order (left-hand pane and right-hand pane with ESP's enabled). -

Kuldebar replied to z929669's question in Mod Organizer Support
I don't know, I always used the "official" sorting instructions from the unofficial patch team and BOSS/LOOT. For a short period of time, BOSS was messing up the USKP file ordering, but that was resolved and BOSS and LOOT now follow the same standards. I have never had a reason to deviate from it. -

Kuldebar replied to z929669's question in Mod Organizer Support
The way I am using MO as of today is more in line with how nearly all typical users will use it. All Bethesda Official files in their default location (cleaned, of course) All mods installed via MO and LOOT sorted with logical left hand window sorting based on both LOOT and discretion. My objective in pointing this out is not to imply Aiyen is wrong or anything just that for the sake of discussion we need to establish the baseline. I think it is fair and accurate to say my screen shots illustrate a typical MO User setup. From this established baseline, what elegant solutions present themselves, or are any "solutions" even now necessary? Since BSA Extraction has been strictly limited in use and certainly not being used for the Unofficial Patch BSA's, aren't we avoiding the "vampire fix" weirdness so exhaustively discussed elsewhere. (I use the Vampire Fix as a marker for the how the problem can manifest)
