Mono's Lore Friendly Equipment Pack - Feedback
MonoAccipiter replied to MonoAccipiter's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Thanks! I removed the .223 Pistol and Battle Rifle from all leveled lists as they were basically duplicates (with the same weapons mods, so not like the two Anti-Materiel Rifles for example) and removed the Dead Money guns from all base game shops. Also renamed the .223 Pistol Long Barrel to 5.56mm Pistol Long Barrel since the 5.56 Pistol uses it too (and though Obsidian use both caliber and diameter when naming weapons, they always use the same as the one used for the appropriate ammunition). -

How do you guys feel about the Dead Money weapons - should they be found in the Mojave? WMX adds them to 5 vendor inventories (though as guaranteed items instead of possible ones) and I'm half of a mind to just remove them. Always felt it was kinda cool that you could only find the Police Pistol and Automatic Rifle in the Sierra Madre. You don't need to use my pack (or even like it) to answer. -
Strange issue with NVinteriors
MonoAccipiter replied to Shad73's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I think those are just cells he left unfinished (but accessible) for no clear reason. I will probably disable the doors in the next update for NVInteriors Rewritten if I can just find out how to make my GECK load the NVInteriors BSA without crashing. -

Sorry for not fixing this that fast, I've been busy reviving my casino overhaul project and didn't want to mention it before actually making any progress. Will fix this tonight and upload the edited Wattz Rifle meshes, Travis gave me the go-ahead on that front. EDIT: It's fixed. Don't feel like it deserves a version number update for the pack though. Maybe when I've edited the PN plugins to remove the .223 Pistol (exactly the same as the GRA 5.56 pistol). EDIT2: Nevermind, the .223 Pistol is from WMX. -
Come on man, that's a classic argument to the stone. You just dismissed what I said (and what was said by others) as wrong without providing any proof whatsoever. I'm not waxing philosophically about anything; I'm using terms that helps me approach the subject through logical reasoning, dismissing it as waxing seems like an incredibly cheap way of distracting from the points that were made.

Aren't compatibility patches already freed from all of this? If you make a new plugin that combines the records from two plugins from the ground up, I do not see how that should requirement any form of open modding agreement, neither did I think it was against Nexus' Terms of Service. When I upload mods they just say to make sure that no one else's assets are included, that also means modified assets of course.

Will fix that when I get back, thanks for the heads up. EDIT: I checked the file and it doesn't have any of the helmets marked as a necklace, sure you don't have a patch that isn't from my pack? -
Do you mean the aim button, as in aiming down sights? Try dropping enhanced camera and see if that works, no reason to think your computer is to blame.
-
Must be an animation bug of some sort, try redoing New Vegas - Enhanced Camera, Weapon Animation Replacers & WAR-Enhanced Camera compatibility pack, then report back. Also, if you post in the F&LNV - Support subforum next time, I will probably see your post much sooner.

A modder's will sounds pretty good to me - a way of appeasing both sides nicely. It keeps minimally altered versions from popping up when you're still actively developing something, and at the same time makes sure good ideas can keep growing even if you don't have the time to develop them anymore. Forking obviously would need more work to implement, but that could potentially automate a lot of things like linking back to the original mod, giving proper credits, inheriting permissions et cetera. EDIT: Should point out I somehow missed an entire page of posts when posting this.

I must have uploaded the wrong WMX plugin, I will check it out when I get home. If you go in and delete all the "cannot be resolved" entries from the leveled lists, it should work. Missing main menu happens when a patch tries to refer to records I've deleted (hence the "cannot be resolved") -

Please feel welcome to open a support thread in the F&L subforum, I'd do my best to help you out. If WB somehow (though I am completely amiss as to how) deletes your core game files, just copy them to another location and paste back in when you're done as a temporary workaround. -
Mono's Lore Friendly Equipment Pack - Feedback

It just occurred to me that while I might remove the weapons that use certain ammo types (like .40 S&W) to make more space in the leveled lists, the actual ammunition just stays there forever (the downside of adding stuff via scripts) and gets double as stupid with no gun there to make use of it. Hence I went and figured out a way to write scripts that remove the CaliberX ammo types from leveled lists, and will be providing plugins that do that for you from now on. Starting with .40 S&W which was used by the Operator Pistol in earlier versions, but has now been changed. I kinda found it annoying to have more .40 S&W ammo in Chet's store than ammunition I could actually use, especially since he had a whopping four different types of that ammo and no damn 5.56mm or 10mm. These plugins are really simple to use (they require Lutana NVSE though): Put the plugin at the end of your load order and tick it. No need to redo the Bashed Patch or anything else. Load your game. Wait for a few seconds and they should be gone. No need to make a clean save or anything. The script resets the shop inventories. Untick the plugin and delete it.Here's the link: https://mega.nz/#!IJ8RAaYS!fBXC6oSHzKN9i1-8HcgR6jVfmWxyUWFEm2xESEltXh4 EDIT: I also update the leveled list integration for the Camon & Scottmack plugin, which now should see the weapons pop up all over the place (though not very commonly) and the Millenia's Additional Weapons plugin so as to make the weapons spawn with the correct ammunition. I noticed that mistake while playing earlier because a Viper Gunslinger spawned with a Soviet Machine Pistol and 9x19mm Parabellum ammo instead of 9x18 Makarov. Updating the C&S mod requires you to make a clean save by loading up the game without the mod, saving, and then reenableing it. -
Prospector's Saloon issues after Clearn FLINV

Try moving the copying the enbseries.ini and the enblocal.ini file to the new folder as well, might be that the .dll is looking for them there since you moved it and hence the borderless settings (which I assume you enabled there) are not working. Hmm, I wonder why the gas station would show up like that if the exterior looks fine. Perhaps there is something amiss with the default .bsa files (since the at least mod-supplied textures+meshes you see outside are working)? Try revalidating with Steam and see if that helps. -

Hi again, I went to the store. Sorry! Let's see. Very interesting that you got eye textures everywhere. That's what happens when textures are corrupted. I wonder if that is an NVInteriors cell, in any case that mod is back up on the Nexus, so you should redownload the newest version from there (since you to my understanding you are just using the ModDB one). Let me know how it looks then. Could also be an NMC corruption as that tends to happen with large downloads. Note A under ENBoost states the following (perhaps it can be of assistance): If none of that works, try using the injector version. -
The racism argument feels like major strawman to me. Simply because there is such a thing as universally accepted human rights, and the fact that racism in no way is based on a rational argument. There is nothing rational about it at all. Note how Synth explicitly states "I have honestly never understood this" in his argument, as opposed to simply stating that other opinions are ridiculous simply because they are other opinions. Interesting enough (though not relevant at all here) there has actually been certain arguments made against human rights by philosophers such as Nietzsche, which had their basis in rationality and as such were later countered with rationality. I see that you get it's a much more severe situation, but I don't think you get how little it actually applies here. Again, I want to ask, what exactly is STEP's attitude towards this? I visited this in my reply to krypt, so I see no reason to reiterate it. But I do not see how you can paint the reaction of an entire community on a few posts, among which I was probably on the fringe in terms of my rhetoric, which in no way advocated for Synthetik's solution. It was more along the lines of that age-old misquote of Voltaire (never actually said by him, but rather used as an example of something he could have said by a biographer) which goes something like "I do not agree with what you are saying, but I will unto death defend your right to say it". In this case he even clearly specified (albeit later) that he was visiting a situation hypothetically and used questions to move the debate forward, which has been instrumental to achieving a healthy debate ever since Socrates went around asking young Athenians about questions he pretended not to know the answer for. Socrates, who by the way, was sentenced to death because the majority did not like what he opinionated. See how easy it is to produce a false equivalence to make my argument look good? As for the mod creator that wouldn't find it horrible abrasive; I guess I am the exception, and I am sorry that all that does is somehow prove your rule.

Why should any argument be hamstringed by the what the current situation actually is? Ethics is a field of philosophy because what the current majority defines as "ethically right" does not necessarily dictate what actually is ethically right. Synth only presented a hypothetical situation to showcase the weakness of the stance he was arguing against, hence we can only assume his argument was made for a future change, not to say that things were different today (whereof I agree in terms of the legality, but no in terms of the ethics as that is not as easily defined objectively). In that case, does not the current legality of things become essentially trivial? JUNKdeLUXE is right in saying that we would have moved nowhere if people did not question the commonly accepted moral of their current situation. Aristotle thought it was completely right for some people to be slaves, because they had a slave nature and as such could never amount to anything else themselves, something that was commonly accepted in many civilizations throughout the ancient world, but in the end was abolished. Just because we consider ourselves modern, does not mean we stand at the pinnacle of everything.

I use ENB instead of ENBoost myself, so I am not 100% sure is this is applicable for both cases, but does a menu pop up if you press Shift + Enter? Somewhat like this (though the size differs with the resolution): -
How does STEP not see this distinction? Firstly, the opinion of me, or of other posters in this thread does not dictate the general attitude of the community in anyway. Secondly, even if that were the case, there has been overwhelming advocacy for theft being ethically wrong. This comes from me and from several others. Thirdly, we have made a very clear distinction between arguing for open modding and arguing for forcing that opinion on anyone else, the majority of arguments presented have resented the act of disrespecting a mod author's wishes. Synthetik has just helped explore the theme by presenting a hypothetical situation he thought would show the weakness of such a stance, whether or not we agree with him (which most have not) does not really come across as relevant to his right of putting forward his own stance. Equating the act of not advocating for a strict parlor view on the modding scene to lending support to people who commit theft is a major false dichotomy. Free speech is an integral part of any debate, and there are degrees to every stance. For example civil disobedience is per definition not obeying the law, but I would argue that does not make it objectively unethical. Tech makes an excellent point on how Synth has not called out anyone for being wrong and unethical in any of his posts, so I would encourage you to practice the same doctrine of respect you are advocating in this case as well. Whether you or I think something is objectively ethical is frankly irrelevant to deciding how we should treat people who disagree with us, that is an entirely different debate. I wholly agree with the fact that stealing is a crime, and in fact most of your opinions, but do note that very few here have argued that it is not, and in terms of the open modding stance, we would rather want it so that there was no need for such a thing as stealing - given that mods were already being shared willingly. I think the argument that Synth presented hypothetically in any case (correct me if I am wrong here) was rather that it should not be defined as stealing and hence not a crime. I want to stress that I mean no disrespect with any of my opinions and hope I have not given off that odor. I only lean on philosophy because I think it can help us define words needed to properly reach at all these feelings (such as Wittgenstein said reading would do for a person). Cheers, and listen to Tech's good advice. He is a wise chap.

That is another .bsa file. Try redownloading the Advanced Recon Thermal Nightvision mod and click Merge not Replace when installing it.
