  1. This was probably a card not throttling when exceeding certain temperature threshold. It shouldn't be an issue for users that have half-decent cooling. I haven't had any issue with that driver, personally. The problem is not even reported by any of the major tech forums. Still to bear in mind that ENB is not compatible with this driver.
  2. Besides in SLI mode your VRAM won't be doubled, only the processing power. Not worth it IMHO, unless you're doing some serious image/video editing.
  3. https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/2006//? An in-game monitoring tool. Recommended by Neo in another post.
  4. Nice find that, Neo! Will make a thread for it in MS forum. As for the G15... Jealous! I wanted to get the G19 one, but some other financial stuff cropped up and I ended up not buying it...Â
  5. Tech, there is a nice Hungarian version of veggie stew, called letcho, it's absolutely gorgeous! Check it out.
  6. The only downside to 660 model is the 192-bit bus.
  7. Inb4 cease and desist.I really hope Bethesda has learned enough to not go this route. I can't imagine any "lost profits" from this coming even close to offsetting the PR nightmare this would be. They can't state profit loss, as both games are required to correctly install Skywind. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
  8. I have factory oc'd ASUS GTX 660 Direct Cu II TOP and I am extremly happy with it. It runs every single game on maxed out settings without any problems - apart from heavily modded Skyrim, but that's due to 2GB VRAM and only 4GB of system RAM. See my thread here. As for Nexus 7 I do own one and I would highly recommend it likewise. It's a brilliant little device that run very smoothly, and the display quality is awesome. I'd strongly disagree with Bes - mine is not slow for gaming at all, as for media - yeah, the screen may be not massive, but the resolution and quality is excellent. You can also get nice Bluetooth keyboard for it, which makes using it even easier :) Defo recommend. In fact, 4 people apart from me from my department own N7 and all are really happy. They're all proper geeks and tech-savvy, so judge by yourself :)
  9. I advise against using GeForce Experience to tweak Skyrim. It pretty much defaults to Ultra settings on my card, which is useless if you want to use ENB or force your own AA through the drivers. Its game database is fairly limited to and I found it intrusive and inaccurate for games you would do the tweaking yourself. Still, it's a great tool for gamers who have no idea how their system handles the new titles. I didn't suggest to use it for tweaking Skyrim, more for driver updates.
  10. Marked as solved.
  11. WSZYSTKIEGO NAJLEPSZEGO, FARLO!
  12. Guess what I'm making tomorrow! :P Ditto! Well, my missus will be making this for me if I ask nicely :) Also, I recommend you guys try quinoa - it'a a healty alternative to likes of rice and cuscus. Also, check out this article about using chia seeds to thicken your smoothies.
  13. Nexus' tracking functionality works well for that.
  14. Yeah, I worded it incorrectly - it's of course issue with the ENB, not the driver. Hopefully he will fix it.
  15. Not sure if 3.3% performance boost is worth loosing the sunrays effect... With beta, reducing SunIntensity value to 0.2 helped with the clipping, so that's another way to "fix" it (it's not really a fix, just a workaround). The sun doesn't look that impressive though. I am going to stick to 314 for now.
  16. It took me AGES to figure out it was the driver's fault when I downloaded beta when it came out! :D
  17. Update: the WHQL 320.18 nvidia driver is not ENB friendly. The clipping issue present in the beta version of this driver was not fixed: 314.22 remains the lates WHQL ENB-friendly version. P.S. Nvidia released an application called NVIDIA GeForce experience that keeps track of new updates and has options to optimise graphic setting for games. Not all games are included yet though.
  18. I am a huge music fan. I love music, in any form. I am not really into mainstream stuff, it literally annoys me. I love to discover new stuff however, so I though I will start this thread so we can all share the music we like, the music that means something to us, that moves us or just keeps us entertained :) So here it goes, one of my favourite singers EVER, David Sylvian. He's not only a singer, he's also a writer, and all his lyrics have this special kind of poetic expression that moves something inside me. He certainly knows how to put the words together in beautiful and very meaningful way. He's been in the music business from the 80s, but I've only disovered him by accident a few years ago. One of most important musical discoveries of my life so far! Hope you will enjoy these couple of tracks, first one is by Nine Horses - David Sylvian's project with Burnt Friendman (another great musician from Germany), and the second one is Sylvian solo project. [video=youtube] [video=youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByWEtj9knW8 Feel free to post your own favourite tracks & artists, if you can share some info too!
  19. Just think the production process backwards, to the point where the burger had 4 legs and a tail, and moo'ed at other cows ;)
  20. I used to use WLfC in my previous playthrough and I never noticed any problems with them. The guards were carrying lanterns normally, I was able to interact with them, just normal BAU.
  21. 20 years of vegetarianism experience here, and counting :) Ask away if you need to know anything. Word of advice - do not switch immediately, gradually reduce your meat intake, so that your stomach and digestive system are slowly getting used to it. Depending on your organism the rapid shift may have some negative effects. As for soya food - ALWAYS check if "fake meats" are made of non-GMO soya (welcome to Monsanto world). There are lots of choices (I'm speaking from European point of view, not sure about North Americas) of meat free food that uses fungi proteins rather than soya ones. P.S. As for the comments from your mates, co-workers etc, you will just need to get used to them, best thing just ignore them, as I can imagine they could be discouraging at the beginning. Even I still get them, after 20 years of not eating meat! :)
  22. I will download the new 320 drivers and feed back. The beta version was confirmed to be causing glitches with ENB. Hopefully these issues were fixed in the relase version.
  23. Are you using any mods outside of STEP recommended ones?
  24. I think you're asking valid questions there and perhaps we could look at improving the description text so that it depicts what STEP is in a better way. Leaving this for admins to decide. However, I have to strongly disagree with your statement that STEP is just a guide or just a list of mods similar to GEMS. STEP is a guide, that is a fact. However - the guide is extremely exhaustive. It covers installation of STEAM, Skyrim itself, recommends some useful INI tweaks and then puts all the included mods in the CORRECT INSTALL ORDER, which is critical for game stability and the best visual experience. If you took all those STEP mods and installed them in some random order, your game wouldn't look as good (as many texture mods would be installed in wrong order and - effectively - incorrect textures used in the game. Your game would not be stable either, as some files would have been overwritten in the incorrect order. And so on. In addition, STEP offers many other guides that will make your Skyrim experience better: optimising textures, setting up and using mod managers, conflict resolution tools etc. These guides are created by experienced people, who were kind enough to share the knowledge. Furthermore, each and single mod that STEP recommends is extensively tested by STEP community (have a look at MOD SUGGESTIONS > MOD TESTING forum) to ensure that they are error free and that they provide best possible experience that will not cause your game to crash every 5 minutes. So, as you can see, STEP is much more than "just a guide".
