  1. OMG! This is absolutely mindblowing! I went to Bleak Falls Barrow yesterday and got scared to death in the darkness (no torch!) by the Skeevers on those round stairs that take you to the lower level, shortly before the big spider fight :D They are MASSIVE in VR and very scary. I had to save just before the spider fight, as it was 5 AM, but OMG I am very scared to get back in, as I can only imagine what that fight will be like :D Stellar job Bethesda, really really good!
  2. Right, the initial mod build for VR is done. I used mainly Tech's Guide (Thanks dude! Stellar work with the guide!) with a couple of extra mods of my choice. There is only 1 VR specific mod (see below), but I will be testing more when I am some time into the playthrough, just to get a feel for the VR gameplay. The testing was promising, I didn't notice any issues. Going to start an actual playthrough now and see what happens :D
  3. If you get a chance - check it out. I have currently about 160 audio-visual mods installed and the experience is just jawdropping. Been standing around in Riverwood for 20 minutes yesterday just looking around, observing the life in the village. I can't applaud it enough! Gameplay mods next... Then some VR specific mods and a full playthrough :)
  4. Hello! Long time no see, Steppers :) Just wanted to say I have tried Skyrim VR tonight and it's absolutely mindblowing. I think it's more mindblowing that Elite Dangerous - the game I have abandoned Skyrim for. I will be modding SVR, so you'll probably going to see more of me on these forums again :) Any other SVR users?
  5. It's back up now, thanks @TechAngel and @Z :)
  6. I'm getting the below when trying to access it: Error 503 Backend fetch failedBackend fetch failed Guru Meditation:XID: 2162694 Varnish cache server
  7. Check my preset for Elite Dangerous, Neo. I dare to say it works quite well with W3 >> https://www.flickr.com/photos/141027616@N05/albums/72157672507692695
  8. Thanks mate, you can get it here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/238055-RootsExplo-Elite-ReShade-preset I created it for Elite Dangerous initially, but actually it works pretty well in The Witcher :) Use Scroll Lock to turn on/off and Pause/Break to turn Chromatic Aberration on/off (it makes the screen slightly more blurry, but gives the game a nice cinematic feel).
  9. I have preordered this while being drunk some time ago :D After about 30 hours in I can say it's a good, casual, "I have a spare hour now" type of game. Combination of minecraft and space exploration. Nothing serious, just arcade type of game. The main gameplay is about exploring various planets and POI's on them, mining for resources and then managing those resources to upgrade your equipment. Apart from that you can also trade and fight. The former is a good way to get missing resources for your upgrades, and mining rare resources and then selling them is a good way to earn money. There is also alien languages learnig and that helps you communicate with other races. There is some storyline that involves getting to the centre of the galaxy and another one that involves finding a mysterious Atlas (whatever that might be). Or you can go wild and just freely explore the universe. Flight model is VERY basic and it's a lettdown for me, I hoped for something more sim-like. You can't even crash the ship against a planet :P I thought I won't like the the graphical style, but it's actually very fitting with the gameplay style. I like it! I disagree with the "samey planets" criticism - to me the planets are quite different to each other. The flora is a bit samey indeed, but the actual planets are not. I came across jungles, deserts, forests, caves, oceans, archipelagos, mountains, all sorts of varied terrain and features. Fauna can get a bit werid sometimes, but mostly it's OK. Audio is OK, music is good and enhances the immersion. I didn't really have any expectation for the game so maybe that's why I actually like it and I'm not disappointed. The only criticism I'd have is that the price is way too high for what you get. Final verdict, based on what I've seen so far: I would definitely recommend the game to players that like crafting and exploration in a sandbox environment, but I woulnd't recommend playing the hell out of it, as it can get samey. I'd rather play in short bursts and don't take the game too seriously. ::EDIT:: Oh, I forgot to add - the game also supports modding and works offline - the only online bit you need it when uploading your discoveries to the main database for others to see. And for the end - some nice photos from me :) And here's a creature that reminds me a lot about my dog that was put to sleep last year due to a liver cancer. In a tribute to my dog I called this creature Guernica :)
  10. Don't think we have any generic screenshots thread, so I'll put them here. Finally started my new playthrough using my guide + my own ReShade (still WIP, will share when ready) and it looks something like that: https://www.flickr.com/photos/141027616@N05/albums/72157672507692695 More screenies to come. In other news, I'll probably continue to update the guide, but not very often.
  11. Whoa, that's some strong words there mate! Luckily it's only your opinion, nothing more, nothing less. And why MUST you play video games at home? What is SO bad about playing them outside? There are chess boards in parks all over the world. Hell, there is a massive chess board in the city centre in Leeds where I live, in front of the library. And chess is a game usually played indoors. Does it mean all these people enjoying fresh air and playing chess are losers too? I think your view is very narrow minded, sorry. I used to play some Ingress back in a day, very casually. It was lots of fun and it WAS an exploration mobile video game that required me to go around the city, scan certain landmarks as checkpoints, hack the checkpoints that others claimed etc. Does it mean I'm a loser? I honestly don't think so. I consider myself moderately successful young (haha) man, thankyouverymuch. Disclaimer: I couldn't care less about Pokemon GO.
  12. Seeing that I'm pretty much the only person replying in this thread I've decided to stop supporting the guide, as I don't think many people use it. If you want a guide that is still actively supported, please check Neo's W3R: The Wild Hunt Revisited guide - it's a great guide of a very experienced modder. Thanks for your time guys, it was a pleasure. Time to move on now!
  13. The guide is now updated to work with 1.22 game version! Some redundant mods were removed, some were added and a few things were changed. The guide is fully usable now, however the following sections are still a WIP: In Game Mod ConfigurationMod HotkeysThat means that you will have to configure the mods using in game menus yourself and also not all of the hotkeys will work, however the essential ones are working now and it's clearly stated which ones are still not configured. Enjoy! https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Rootsrat/TheWitcher3_Return_Of_The_White_Wolf
  14. Thanks, I've seen some comments regarding bugs, but wanted to confirm with someone that used it and that I actually trust ;)
  15. Hey Neo. Any reason why you're not using Hair - increase LOD distance shift mod? Also, thanks for including my GILL mod in your guide :) Can I also recommend another mod of mine: More Realistic Food And Drink? :)
  16. Thanks :) I'm up to reviewing the guide from the begnning up to Tweaks and Fixes section. HUD and UI is next and so on. Once I'm done with review of the whole guide, I'll start looking into some new mods and then it'll be release time! I'm off for 2 week holiday next week so I'm hoping to have it released before then. You can watch the progress here: https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Rootsrat/TheWitcher3_Return_Of_The_White_Wolf_Test
  17. Right! All the expansions are out and I have purchased a new graphics card, so now it's time to start updating the guide! I'll need some time to get back on track, as I've had over 6 months break from The Witcher, so bear with me while I catch up with all the news. Watch this space...
  18. So, ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 STRIX card - initial review. After running some initial tests yesterday I couldn't be more happy. Witcher 3 - 1440p everything maxed out (including 8 x AA on hairworks) - didn't drop below 75 FPS. Worth noting I have only ran around Kaer Morhen, as I have lost all my saves some time ago... Elite Dangerous - full 4K maxed out, didn't drop below 80 FPS all over apart from planetary bases, where it kept above 65 FPS. GTA V - all maxed out, including advancd graphic settings and with 4xAA (where 8 is max) in 1440p it kept above 60 FPS at all times, but my CPU is bottlenecking here and the extended visibility didn't work that well, because stuff was popping in (that's just CPU not coping). All the other games I tested were eaten for breakfast by this monster of a card. Worth to mention that I only sport 650 W PSU and it didn't have any problems even when running stress tests of Unigine Heaven (on Ultra settings with everything enabled and 4xAA) and 3D Mark Ultra Stress test. The fans are slightly audible when run above 60-65%, but that happens very rarely and 90% of time is not an issue, as below those values they are basicalyl inaudible. One small issue I came across is that the card was set to turn off the fans when below certain temp (customisable) and the fans were triggering every few seconds, then stopping. Fixed it by manually setting them to fixed RPM and then re-enabling the automatic mode - they remained turned off until needed and are working perfectly fine since then. ASUS GPU Tweak 2 OC software is the program I use to control the card, but I didn't try overclocking yet (no need to be honest). The obvious downside is the price, but that's no surprise... (I was saving for hapf a year for this card! :D ). One happy gamer here, if you have spare funds - go and get it, I can't recommend it enough!
  19. I'm going to pick up my new shiny ASUS STRIX 1080 tonight! :D
  20. Thanks for sharing the news Neo!
  21. I have these folders in my Overwrite: CampfireData, SimplyKnockData & WearableLanternsData. The exact location is \overwrite\SKSE\Plugins They obviously came from the respective mods, but look like a byproduct of a patcher or something like that. I have never came across that before, any idea which mod created those or how they ended up there. Also - where should they be moved to? Thanks!
  22. Ah, good to know! Thanks W. :)
  23. Same here, but I saw it dropped, so I thought that maybe it turned out it's bugged or something... Just checking in case it'd screw my game for some reason :)
