What lighting and weather mods do you like with SR? I had been using Cot 2.1 (https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17802) with RLO 4.0.7c (https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/30450) but it was kind of dark at night and in interiors. I upgraded to CoT 3.0 and RLO but now it looks like CoT has been recalled for bug-stomping so I'm just running RLO. The nights seem very nice with this - perhaps too bright to be realistic but very pretty. (CoT 3.0 Winter seemed very nice - I assume it would make for a much tough start using Frostfall and RND as Whiterun, Riften ,etc. would be so much more inhospitable.) I've also been using Skyrim Project Optimization 1.4. No ENBs yet, and I'm not sure I want to take the performance hit to include one - plus there seem to be so many options that it's not clear which to choose and which play nicely with which weather and lighting mods. What are other people using? How do you like it? Do you generally use a weather mod (which one?) or the vanilla weather system? What about for lighting? ENB?

You look to be in 3rd now for MotM, 22 vs. 40 for the leader (Unique Unique). It takes about 400-800 votes to win for the month. -

Now the the pre-cache killer seems to have resolved the crashing it seems a much easier choice to choose more choices... before that was an invitation to a CTD. -

Hair: Apachii Sky hair (https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10168) looks nice, but is over the top and can have some pretty serious clipping issues. Does our hero have a team of stylists accompany him/her everywhere he/she goes? Given the plus and minuses of this mod I often leave it off. However, when I do use Apachii I really like to use the wigs optional download so that the character is not bald underneath their helmet (which characters spend most of the time wearing). (That said what is "cazy" and "v"? I know one is a bit longer than the other but have no idea what these terms mean and can never remember which is which.) A somewhat more believable hair mod is Azar's Ponytail Hairstyles mod (https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31797). The general appearance of most of these seem more 'sensible' and don't look like the character just stepped out of a Hollywood hair stylists'. The first option has a two tone appearance with the temples a slightly different shade, while the other options seem to change the color of the hair quite a bit - presumably you could fiddle around with RaceMenu's colors to correct this but I have never bothered. Although designed for human females they generally work ok for males and other races. Any other suggestions for hair mods? -

I wonder if doing the guide before additional meshes might be the best order. Once you do the guide then maybe mod users or other mod authors might start doing some of the mesh packs which could save you time and get more compatibility patches done quickly. Just a thought. A detailed walk through on how to use SkyProc might also be helpful as it is brew helping for new adopters. If found your SR notes invaluable for this, but I suspect most people are not using MO and thus run into all sorts of issues. -

If I don't play a Mage, I suppose it would be better to disable Magic Duel. One less thing for the engine to keep track of during play. It does look really cool though, I can see why I would want to use it if playing a Mage. -

Most who have discussed it seem to have DDSOpted the big packs in " Foundation" and many are half sizing the normals there and the HRDLCs. -

I wonder (with no real basis) if the issue is a memory problem - maybe if you have too many mods and are using too many procs and don't have enough memory or the memory set up right it just collapses. This might explain why it seems to behave so idiosyncratically. -

Jason, there have been a few posts on the DSR comments section noting problems using SUM and DSR, they often seemed to occur when also using SkyRe. A solution someone used was to run all the rest through SUM but use basic SkyProc for DSR. (I think.) I've never used SUM so have no idea how it works or what the issues are. See https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/955872-dual-sheath-redux/page-10#entry7712463. Hope this helps. -

When you update the Unofficial Dawnguard and Dragonborn patches, do you need to rebuild any of the patches or redo any of the TES5Edits? -

Has the pre-cache killer fixed the issues with Apachii causing crashes - I assume so. -

Did you get the Skyforge weapons texture pack s sue figured out for DSR's proc? I don't see any notes regarding it, so I guess the answer is yes. P.S. I thought the brown looked better. -

I think the comments thing is a new feature - it is supposed to be allowed to be tailored by the author now. But some new releases just don't have them. -

If you follow the steps laid out it's not that difficult of tedious to do, though a bit confusing at first. The other point though is that AFAIK it does not have to be done at any particular point in time. If you are using MO you can do it whenever you want/need to. Just doing the three big texture packs in the foundation plus the HRDLCs seems to really increase system stability quite a bit.

As I understand it, the patches are just the left hand weapon meshes, etc. -

I never really pay attention to the color they have in Wrye Bash. Is orange the one where it suggests you merge them together. I probably should but life's too short. -

I had no issue with it. I would recommend starting over - install the mod again and build a new patch. Maybe you made a minor error creating the patch which is causing issues. Are you sure everything works ok without this mod/patch? -

Haelfix - I suppose it might depend on how difficult it is to do the patch. If the effort required is low it might be worth doing as it will expand his DSR Mod's appeal, especially as people who use weapon/armor mods might be likely candidates to adopt his new dual sheath & shield placement (DSR) mod. Or something like that... -

@vodu2040 Do you have all your ESPs/ESMs checked in MO? (Failure to check an ESM will FTEs result in a pre game CTD.) Are you trying to launch SKSE through MO? If so, did you do both steps there? By this point you should have installed SKSE I think. (SKSE now requires a folder plus the exe & dll.)
