Fallout 3 (Project Beauty/redesigned) Red Triangles
Kelmych replied to GamerPoets's question in General Skyrim LE Support
OOPS, I should have said meshes. I use all these mods and I don't have problems, so it is possible to make them work together. Fallout Redesigned affects only the heads; it provides meshes and textures for the heads of NPCs. Installation order and plugin load order matter; how are these being managed? Once we know which mod manager is used we can make some suggestions for determining what is happening. I use the installation order shown in the Fallout 3 guide in my signature, and I use LOOT for load order. -
I'll add more information in the guide with some warnings about using FCO; the existing warnings are apparently not enough. I included it in case users wanted to experiment with it; the port to Fallout 3 isn't complete yet.

Fallout 3 (Project Beauty/redesigned) Red Triangles

Huge Exclamation Points indicate missing textures. What mod manager is being used? -
Thanks. I guess I must also set the map to white and I hadn't noticed this. I added this to the mod instructions in the guide.

Since some users of the forum are not as familiar with DDSopt settings as we are, a few comments might be useful: These settings would directly control only the formats of uncompressed textures;when using these settings any DirectX compressed textures would get the default DDSopt behavior in which DDSopt automatically determines the best DirectX compression format option to use for the DirectX compressed textures;there aren't very many uncompressed textures in vanilla and most of these are in the HRDLC; I'll provide a list once I've checked it. I'm also not sure there are examples of all of these uncompressed formats in the uncompressed textures in the vanilla Skyrim textures, but most of them are relevant. One example of uncompressed textures in "Skyrim - textures" is in the tintmasks folder. Based on comments in the forums these textures seem very sensitive to changes; there were reported problems when these textures were changed during optimization. We might not want to change the format of these particular texture type. There are only 189 files in the tintmasks folder in "Skyrim - textures", so changing the format doesn't save much space. Currently the vanilla sorting batch file doesn't change these textures.

I've tried several approaches for relating the Constraints tab settings to quality settings; hopefully the new approach works better than the previous ones. Typically some users liked and other didn't like each of the previous approaches.. For the past year or so the vanilla sorting batch file has been separating the uncompressed terrain textures from HRDLC2 from the compressed terrain textures from Skyrim - textures and the DLC, and then recommending different constraint tab settings (uncompressed for the uncompressed ones, DXTx for the compressed ones). Many of the compressed terrain textures get collapsed by DDSopt, but only a small percentage of the uncompressed ones (a little less than 10%). I like your idea of using R5G6B5 for the uncompressed ones.

All the 1_HRDLC_Clean-START.bat batch does is to setup the log file and then run the 1_HRDLC_Clean.bat batch file that actually does the removals. Once you have run the 1_HRDLC_Clean.bat batch file that does the cleaning, whenever you run the 1_HRDLC_Clean-START.bat batch file there will be lots of errors in the log file since the files were already removed. If you have already run 1_HRDLC_Clean.bat you are finished with cleaning; you don't have to worry about it.

The optimization instructions in the "DDSopt Optimization" tab were modified to reference the updated figures, so this will hopefully no longer be a problem.

The number of lines in the batch file with commands that write to the log file, and thus the number of lines in the log file, changed with the new version. I saw 14 blank lines when I was doing some initial testing and there are 14 lines in the batch file that write to log.txt. However, when I ran the test again with the version in the guide I got 15 blank lines in the log file. I changed the number in the guide to say 15 blank lines.

I wonder how it compares with Martigen's Mutant Mod, but I didn't see any comments on the Nexus page about any comparisons. I'm curious about diversity of raiders and location of raider spawn points since MMM adds some raider diversity and spawns:

I agree that a TOC could be useful since it is currently very hard to find individual topics of interest. I also think the QuickStart guides should be pulled out and put into two separate QuickStart guides, one for Skyrim and one for Fallout. Even the remaining guide might be best broken into two pieces, one with the current tabs on optimizing vanilla and mod textures and the other piece on background information, test results, examples, etc. That way the table of contents can provide the topics at a lower level without the TOC becoming too long.

Darnified user Interface using vanilla fonts
Kelmych replied to raedwald's question in Mod Organizer Support
Without Unified HUD you won't get the proper versions of the compass, etc. because the includes_HUDMainMenu.xmlfile adds all the UI mod xml file names to ''HUDMainMenu.xml". You could even take the screenshot of this file and manually create it with a text editor if you don't want to use Unified HUD. I added to the Fallout 3 guide some file tree screenshots of the UI mod file trees after installation. These screenshots are at the end of the UI mod section in the guide. Compare the screenshots with your installation, and also compare the Unified HUD xml file with the one in your system. If you still can't find the problem or have questions let me know. -
The folder name error you mentioned was corrected in version 1.0 of the Unofficial High Resolution Patch, so it doesn't need to be included in the HRDLC fix batch files here. The HRDLC batch cleaning files are primarily for removing duplicate and extraneous files, something that would be difficult for UHRP to do. For a while we discussed adding capability to fix other types of errors such as the one you mentioned. However, once UHRP became available we expected it would fix other types of errors, as it has been doing. To test the DDSopt guide batch file extraction problem you mentioned I downloaded the batch file archive from the DDSopt guide. I didn't have any problem extracting the files. Has anyone else had any problems with extracting the files?

Darnified user Interface using vanilla fonts
Kelmych replied to raedwald's question in Mod Organizer Support
It was already answered, but the 7zip (or zip) version is what is needed when using Mod Organizer. The Clear and Present Danger guide for Fallout 3 here on the STEP site includes instructions for installing Fallout 3 mods with Mod Organizer; the DarNUI download pointer in the guide provides the 7zip version. The User Interface mods are particularly tricky to install properly with MO, and the guide includes instructions on how to do this with a number of the popular UI mods. You might want to read at least the UI part if you are going to install additional UI mods with MO. -

I'll look at this when I get home. -
I'll check on both of these when I get home this evening.
-
I'm not sure; I'll look into this. I'm using the alpha version of the new version of loot, and I haven't seen this.
-
Sounds interesting. I'll check it out.

For Fallout Stutter Reducer I added these parameters to the guide instructions; thanks for noticing this. I copied the instructions from the Fallout NV guide, so I'll need to let SRB know also. For Better High Detail map and icons the instructions seem to be correct, but I added some clarification. If you are using the Omnis Pip-Boy mod in the guide the instructions should be correct. If you use another Pip-Boy mod the line nrs and height values are different.

SKYRIMLE Wintermyst - Enchantments of Skyrim (by Enai Siaion and T3nd0)
Kelmych replied to keithinhanoi's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
How does it differ from the "NPC Enchantments Fix" mod that is now part of ASIS? -
No, the file tree screenshot is now a little different. It was late when I uploaded the batch file and I didn't finish everything in the guide. The updated file tree screenshots are now in the guide. The new batch file eliminates some files from the DLC BSAs that aren't needed. It changes the contents of the Vanilla Optimized folder after the Pre-optimization sorting (3 folders and the textures in those folder have been removed since they don't need to be in the optimized files).
