well if it's not one hard drive crashing it's 2 now my backup 2tb is saying courrpted "master table file", now to work out if it can be fixed if not that another drive i may have to purchase my wife is not going to be happy lady.

yes this morning when i reinstalled AVG.

 

I actaully do think it a duff drive cos the software to use for paritioning (I use Parition Wizard for many uyears wityh no issues) is saying it's a "bad disk"

so after all that the SSD which house my OS wasn't at fault it was one of the 2 TB WD green drive I use a backup and storage. This drive is now fairly old been through at least 2 of my PC's so should of guessed that first really. So new one of those will be purchased tomorrow and all should be good again now maybe just maybe I can actually make a start on the rebuild of my SRLE Extended profile.

 

now just to decided if i want another green drive or get a blue or even a black choices choices.

If your feeling adventurous you can get 2 of the lower end drives and put them in a RAID 1

Do you really need 2 TB ? I use only two 250GB SSDs and it's enough

 

anyway use the cheapest of the fastest drives from WD or Seagate because they're not very realiable on long term anyway

if only your master table is corrupted you can try to restore it before purchasing another hdd. If Microsoft's Checkdisk (chkdsk) fails to repair the MFT, try TestDisk.

tried both no luck that why I say it's dead.

Have you look into SSHD drives?  I will get those this year for my upcoming build for next year.

Get a WD Black. They're damn near Bullet proof. Or I've had no issues with my Seagate either.

Guys NARC has been updated a bit and got me a bit confused :

 

There is no consistency patch for skytest anymore but i think it got merged within the main file called NARC -Skytest

 

So how should i go with this?

 

Use NARC - Skytest as a core and get the consistency patch for the other 4?

Skip it for now i'm going to push it furthur down the guide so it will be installed along with all the other animal behaviour mods.

 

and i am waiting for animal tweaks to be updated before i update the guide.
