Question

Hey there,

So I have followed all of the instructions from this guide and the game looks perfect so far.

Unfortunately, I've been experiencing some serious FPS stutters (can go down to ~20 fps at times) each time the game loads a new portion of it (Goodsprings, billboards, random trees, sandstorms, you name it).

Otherwise, I get a rock solid 52-60 fps when outside and 45-60 fps when inside (Mojave Outpost Barracks)

I have quite a powerful PC so I doubt the problem comes from the hardware.

I tried tinkering with the Stutter Remover and the enb inis without having much success.

My game also crashes when I try to exit.

Any suggestions are welcome.

My PC:

  • i5 4670k
  • 16 GB DDR3
  • 780 Ti 3 GB VRAM
  • WD Green 2 TB

EDIT: Well, I guess everyone has the same issue since there is no reply at the moment...

This sounds like the exact same problem I am having with Skyrim. Searching the word "stutter" on this forum brings up only our threads. Looks like we are the unlucky ones This game engine is so primitive, seriously.

With the crash on exit, in the stutter remover ini do you have bFastExit = 1?

Read through your thread and I have also done most of the things you have listed.

Worst is that I actually used to have it work butter smooth when I followed Gopher's video tutorials. (I didn't follow his guide this time, thinking there are more recent ones at the moment)

Guess we're together in the unlucky train...

Edited with =1 and =0. Same result. Crash on exit.

Seriously, this is madening. So much time spent on modding just to see the game perform like crap...

Guess I might redo the installation following Gopher's video tutorials and see if I can get the results I had in the past...

If doesn't work, I guess I'll just continue to play Ark and wait for Fallout 4...

Thank you both for your answers.

Every second or so in game I get a strange stutter/hitching that only seems to happen when im moving or looking around, I can hold 60fps solidly and my computer isn't under pressure from the game and everything runs perfectly besides this stutter.
Very light modlist right now with only dyndolod, obsidian weathers + enb, aswell as cbbe and the usual smim and unofficial patch.
      Running on a rtx2070.
If anyone knows a solution for this you would be a lifesaver.

Whenever I see an npc move or run and look at their sides, it looks very choppy and for some npc's some of their movements are so choppy that every few steps they take, they instantly lag back and forth....So far I have been using the casm mod with MO so far and nothing else....

When in the open world just running around, I get some serious stuttering issues that appear to happen when a new cell loads. My FPS drops from rock solid 60 to as low as 20 on a cell load. I have double checked and I believe all of my settings are as recommended in the STEP Core guide. The mods I have installed are STEP Core with recommended texture qualities and additionally Ordinator, Wearable Lanterns, Rich Merchants, Grimy Plugin, SkyTweak, Weightless Ingrediants, 3DNPC, and Smart cast. My system specs are as follows:

      i7-5930k
      Win 10 pro
      16GB Ram
      nVidia Titan X
Mods and Skyrim installed on two Samsung 850 Pros in a Raid 0.

I am running between the exit of Helgen caves and the Mill that's to the... west of it? Just running along the road. This is basically a new game.

I have changed enblocal to do windowed borderless (and not) and I have attempted to increase and decrease ReservedMemorySizeMb with no appreciable results. I'm attaching a screenshot of performance monitor with 512MB reserved memory.

      My enblocal.ini is also attached.

Any help is greatly appreciated. My primary goal is to run skyrim at a rock solid 60 fps at all times. Huge performance swings really grate on me.

      Thanks!
