SSAO not working with ENB

Question

I can't seem to get SSAO to work with enb.

I've used several enbs, and none of them seem to render AO. All the typical steps have been taken when using an enb. I've disabled AA and AF in options. I edited my Skyrimpref.ini to their correct values as instructed by enb presets. I made sure to install the enbs carefully as instructed. I made sure enb.series.ini was set to render AO.

I've tried upgrading and downgrading drivers also, but no dice

my GPU is a Radeon R9280 3gb

CPU AMD FX 6300 8 core 5GHZ

Make sure you don't have driver AA/AF on. Also, make sure that in enblocal.ini that UseSpeedHackWithoutGraphics=false.

My CCC was set to application enabled, and UseSpeedHackWithoutGraphics=false was in my enblocal.ini.

What did you edit in enbseries.ini? AFAIK you aren't supposed to edit anything for most profiles since SSAO is already on.

I worded that wrong. I meant that I checked to make sure AO was enabled when I was testing for it; That's all

Make sure AO is set to be enabled or app controlled in the drivers. I don't know how AMD drivers are, but I know Nvidia has two options for AO. One sets it to enabled so that games can use it (if the game doesn't use AO, it won't be forced just by enabling it). The other setting actually forces AO on via the drivers. So look for some settings in your drivers to make sure you're not forcing it off.

Unfortunately, AMD doesn't offer AO in it's drivers. You can only get AO if the game offers it natively (or from another program like an enb from what I understand). RadeonPRO is a thrid party application that's suppose to work like Nvidia's advanced options, but it's unstable for a lot of people, and I haven't gotten it to work at all.

      ENB Light by 4109

Download ENB Light 0.98 Alpha 2 and install with the following options ... NOTE: need to test these options against mods that they may overwrite (e.g., Leanwolf's, Embers XD, et.). Check conflicts to determine what files to hide when testing.

EmbersXD seems to have built in compatibility for its meshes so ENB Light should not overwrite them (will need to hide or not install this meshes) Battle Ready Candlelight Fixes is completely overwritten by this mod

So I've noticed that rain drops appear black when falling over certain terrain backgrounds. From my own research, I can see that this is somewhat common, and people have said to install weather mods to fix this. The only thing is that I am using Snapdragon ENB, and the author says its incompatible with other weather mods. Is there a way to prevent the rain from looking black without installing other weather mods? I love this ENB, so I am hoping I wont have to find another one. I also don't want to just entirely disable rain in ENB.

      ENBoost by Boris Vorontsov

STEP does not recommend downloading the Skyrim Nexus version of ENBoost due to incorrect settings for STEP.
Grab the latest binary from ENB Dev: https://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrim.html

Boris's VRAMSizeTest Tool for ENBoost: https://enbdev.com/download_vramsizetest.html
For Skyrim run the DX9 version. For Windows 7, subtract 170 from the value the tool gives. For Windows 8/10, subtract 305 from the value the tool gives. Set VideoMemorySizeMb in the "Enblocal.ini" file to the resulting value.
CTD and Performance patch ENBoost by Boris Vorontsov

Looks like Boris has pretty much figured out his memory fix and released it on the nexus. I believe you still need ENB and then the file on the nexus is an extra INI that is dependent on your videocard.
