Farlo Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Yeah' date=' I can get to the mod's page, but no info and no files. I thought USKP was hosted at Dark Creations?
skwareballz Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I found a ton of my AV Packs on TES Alliance before they started making their way over to Nexus, and Dark Creations is a good place to see some larger projects that are in development, I think USKP is hosted there too.
Besidilo Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I think the only issues with moving from Nexus is the tracking system implemented in NMM and MO. Not an issue if you look up the changes on a daily basis, though.
torminater Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 is nexus currently down? i only get "Fatal error: Call to a member function SetLocal() on a non-object in /home/skyrim/public_html/Core/BBoC.pinc on line 3299"
Gyro Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 It appears to be intermittent. Â They are likely still sorting out the issues from the Dawnguard release and their partial deployment of their new downloading framework. Diversification from Nexus would be great for redundancies, but fragmentation also has some drawbacks (for instance, having multiple sites to check could discourage some of the more casual modders). Â Of course, there's also the issue of infrastructure; I don't know that any other sites have a comparable backbone, and as we just saw even a robust site like Nexus can be knocked around by the size of the community.
torminater Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 well i currently track 390 mods (all of the mods i've ever been interested in and downloaded). to get my NMM tracker up to date has lasted me right know 2 hours due to crippled nexus servers.
frihyland Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Â Wow, Nexus is actually working awesome today. Maybe they finally completed their system/code upgrades.
Kelmych Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I'm still seeing several hour or longer delays before a new file can be downloaded.
Besidilo Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Looks like Nexus will be capping non-premium members' downloads even further now. https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/news/169/ All they're doing is making me not want to use their service. With the new download system your downloads are balanced across our entire file server network (currently 10 file servers). Non-premium members are capped at a download speed of 1MB/second (8mbit) across all their downloads. If you download 1 file, you'll be able to download at a maximum of 1MB/second. If you download 2 files, you'll download at 500kb/second for each file. 4 downloads would be 250kb/sec per file. And so on and so forth. Premium members are obviously uncapped and will be able to download as fast as their connections allow. We've also added another Premium-only download server in the US for their use.
frihyland Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Doesn't change anything for me, I would've signed up as a premium user ages ago but my incompetent ISP (AT&T) caps me at 100k no matter how much I spend so I just spend minimum ($15) now.
Besidilo Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 It says £20/year for me. No way am I going to pay that considering that I'd prefer to support the modders for their work, am on a tight budget lately and Nexus isn't as good as other, less supported services IMHO.
