As the mod's page points here for the info about the latest WAO versions (which I grabbed here), I'd like to ask a few questions about the correct mod installations and a bit more. 1. It's a bit tricky for the required mods to install because there are lots of them coming with installers with many options that are not covered in the WAO install process, for exampleVividian has a patch for Pure Weathers, but it's not mention if I has to install that patch or not. Same goes for other installers, and also it's unclear if optionals will work as well.Is there a way to check if everything is correctly set in place in game / or by looking at the load order? Sometimes I get strange colored fog on the mountains during the sunsets, also Lightning Storms are working a bit strange for me, the weather is mostly clear, but I still get the thunderstorm sounds and fork lightning (seems a bit strange to be hones). I have sorted my load order with LOOT and applied rules based on the installation guide, but I am still unsure if I've done everything correctly: Reveal hidden contents Skyrim.esmCRC: C665FD56Update.esmCRC: 1FDAB215C.Location, Delev, Invent, RelevUnofficial Skyrim Patch.espCRC: 94947FF0Version: 2.1.0C.Acoustic, C.Climate, C.Encounter, C.ImageSpace, C.Light, C.Location, C.Music, C.Name, C.Owner, C.Water, Delev, Graphics, Invent, Names, Relev, Sound, StatsDawnguard.esmCRC: BD72CCF3C.Location, Delev, Graphics, Invent, Names, SoundWarning: Contains 619 ITM records, 82 UDR records and 57 deleted navmeshes. I got uber-dark nights even using the WAO - Brighter Nights and optional CoT Nights - Level 5 loaded after WeatherAndAmbienceOverhaul.esp .I am playing with the Seasons of Skyrim ENB, and the days / sunsets / sunrises looks superb and cool, but the nights are almost plain dark, even the cloudless ones, especially in the wilderness and near Windhelm..If I'm turning ENB off, it's still too dark to play, I am not the big fan of super-realistic approach, but even without torch I can't see anything in 5 meters before me..I am pretty sure this is caused by Pure Weathers, because I've had that issue before with just PW installed, and had to give up on this weather mod because it ruins the gameplay for me.Is there a way to make such nights at least 50% brighter, maybe I can edit this in CK (which I am not familiar with), or maybe you can point to a "patch" that fixes this for users like me.I have this issue with any ENB I pick, so I guess it's just too over-darked nights provided by PW in this case. 3. I am not sure if I have correct setup for ELE and ELFX (without enhancer), because some light points are ok, and some are just too intense (like fireplaces and such). 4. There are two new great mods, called "True Storms" (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/63478/?) and "Superior Fog for Pure Weather" (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/63813/?).They are compatible with each other, as well as there are patches for CoT and some other popular mods. I've asked authors for WAO - True Storms - Superior Fog for PW compatibility patch but still haven't got a positive response. Are you consider switching supreme storms and supreme and volumetric fog to these latest mods? The do look great in my opinion ;) Sorry for asking too much questions, but if you'll get a chance for response, I would be the happiest person living :P 1. You definitely need to clean the DLC. I would recommend ditching COT WP and wao 2.1.1 and use vividian COT + ss + ess and the beta wao. You dont need to use the Vividian pw patch because the changes exist in wao beta.RevampedExteriorFog.esp is redundant with wao because wao will override them. Why do you have two wao plugin files?...
darksynth0 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 (edited) Sorry, that was a mistake, I actually had the original WAO plugin, because some of the other ESPs from the mods required it as a master (ELE for example). But now I've just switched to just VVDN-NL WAO beta, and unsure about the the other suggestions you've marked as strike-through text. Also, can I use VIVIDIAN - extended weathers or not? Here's how it all looks like in my MO.. Sorry for being such stupid person.. and yeah, this is LOOT: Maybee I need to remove VIVIDIAN extended weathers? I've cleaned all DLC, but dawnguard still has 6 ITM after the cleaning :( Edited March 19, 2015 by darksynth0
FrostByghte Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Vividian extended weathers would overwrite or be overwritten by WAO depending on the position of the file, from my current understanding WAO is not designed to work with anything more than what is listed in the standard and extended configurations from the main page. This should still hold true with the beta as UnimeX has not said otherwise. So the answer is no, you should not use the extended weathers unless you wish to replace WAO with that option. With the WAO beta, replace prod80's CoT-WeatherPatch (from the original WAO instructions) with Vividian - Weather Patch CoT - ESS + SS.esp. Remove the diverse weathers, extended weathers from your load order, leave in Vividian - Weather Patch CoT - ESS + SS.esp I would encourage you to grab the latest TES5Edit beta and learn to look in the files yourself. Manually sorting load orders is far superior to what Loot gives you. You will NEVER...and I seriously mean NEVER get what you want out of the game until you learn to place the mods where they need to be and then learn to bring through patches on your own.Sometimes you need to clean the file multiple times but...from my reading all the hoopla about ITM's is a bit overblown. Still, I clean my DLC files.
Smerjel Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 (edited) Great initiative on this mod. It has been a long time coming for this to happen. Thank you!I just happen to be a THX certified acoustics professional and thought I would use my expertise on the matter. Seeing it would seem as if some sounds were faint. This is a common problem with uncalibrated listening environments or software interference. (You might have found yourself jiggling your volume up and down on the TV continuously during a movie because you cannot hear what people are saying and the effects later on are deafening loud)Used an external DAC set to 48khz sampling rate and 16bit resolution (bypassing any windows 7 sound interference. Skyrim->Ears), connected to a pair of unbiased open studio headphones designed for critical listening. My listening environment is abscent of disturbing noises. My hearing index is optimal with a falloff starting at 19khzI entered the dawnstar inn and sat at the bar for 30min, this is what I heard.Hard windBottles tripping over on woodGlass dropped and breakingBurps 1/2/3Creaking structural woodMoving wooden furniture on hard surfaceWooden object put on surfaceLarge Jewellery put on wooden surfacesmall coins "poured" on solid/stone surfacefiddling with object on surfaceWooden lid or door shut"-Linda! The detail is certainly there and I had no problems identifying the cues. Although the editing of the original sounds leaves much to be desired in a few cases. For example some sounds ends abruptly. But that is beyond this mod of course. Edited March 23, 2015 by Smerjel
FrostByghte Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 erg...well I'm at work and I started thinking after reading your post Smerjel, I should have grabbed my Philips Fidelio X1's instead of using the silly 2.1 setup on the desk. :( Well played...and w00t diggy for the DT-880's.
darksynth0 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Okay, do I have to install Vividian - Pure Weather patch? There are no instructions on whether or not should I install it, but as the installer offers to install it if I'm using PW.
Smerjel Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 On 3/23/2015 at 7:19 PM, FrostByghte said: 2.1 setup on the desk. it could be the culprit. Not because they don't work but because something is wrong in your setup with those. Most desktop speakers are designed for a listening distance of 25cm. Yes, 25. Many pc audio standards still believe we use 14 inch crt monitors and have our noses right up on the glass. Speaker placement!
UnmeiX Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Apologies for the lack of activity here on my end! I've been pretty busy trying to get things wrapped up with this newest batch of WAO compatibility patches, but everything's just about ready. @darksynth0 You don't need to use Vividian's Extended or Diverse Weathers *plugins*, no. WAO includes both the 'windy clouds' AND 'extended groundfogs' as of the current beta. However, to be able to see the groundfogs, you do have to install Vividian's Extended Weathers for the meshes, or you won't see them. Be warned, there may be a bit of a performance hit with those. Also; you do not need the Vividian - Pure Weather patch. This is included in WAO. @Smerjel Wow! Thank you for this assessment; it's much appreciated. There are a couple things I needed to work on (like one little typo that has children screaming really loudly in some of the bigger cities, as teabag pointed out to me), but I'm glad to have gotten some solid feedback before this coming release. As it stands, I'm just about ready to release 3.0b. It's a bit of a rushed release, in that I won't be releasing the merged version at this time, primarily due to an urgent need to update my other projects (and because the changes to 3.0 meant that I had to scrap my initial merged version and start anew). That bit aside, a couple other things may be looking up; I may be able to make Supreme Storms essentially 'optional'; that is, you'd still want to use it for the classic WAO experience, but users of fadingsignal's new True Storms would be able to drop the extra plugin (since Supreme Storms is wholly overwritten by True Storms). I'd be pressing on to complete the merged version first, but between Requiem 1.8.3, Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade 1.61, Clothing and Clutter Fixes 1.5, Weapon and Armor Fixes Remade 5.1, and Hunterborn 1.4.3 (all of which I have patches to update for) I've got some work cut out for me already on other fronts. =P

Actually, Smerjel, WAO 3.0b uses Vividian's weather patch as its master, instead of prod80's. These files only edit imagespaces and weathers, as far as our use for WAO is concerned, at least. The one in question is the "Vividian - Weather Patch COT - ESS.esp". This is found on the sixth page of the Vividian installer, by selecting the option to install "Vividian Extra Weather Patch COT - ESS". There it is. 3.0b? There is a patch for W&L in the installer.
