What is this?

DynDOLOD is a set of tools based on TES5Edit and TES5LODGen to automatically create a Skyrim mod based on the load order which adds distant LOD for objects to Skyrim. By combining DynDOLOD with TES5LODGen users can create drastically enhanced traditional static LOD plus tree LOD and the new, optional dynamic distant object LOD in a few 'simple' steps.

DynDOLOD is meant for enthusiast modders who are familiar with using TES5Edit. Enthusiast modders have a general knowledge of computers, folders and files, especially Skyrims 'Data' folders and how to install mods safely with a manager or manually.

To fully expand the visual experience and use the additional features offered by TES5LODGen the DynDOLOD package comes with over 1000 new or updated LOD models for objects that were badly missing from the original game like the Skyhaven Temple or landscape features like roads, smaller rocks and dirt cliffs that simply make the distant landscape look much more natural and alive.

Requirements

SKSE

PapyrusUtil 2.8 or higher

DynDOLOD Resources - Make sure to use DynDOLOD Resources version only with matching or higher DynDOLOD Standalone versions but never with older versions.

Vanilla Skyrim LOD Billboards from TES5LODGen or Indistinguishable Vanilla Tree Billboards. If using tree mods that do not include billboards, check TES5LODGen for ready-to-use tree LOD billboards for some tree mods. For STEP users all billboards are included in STEP Texture Compilation.

What are the other possibilities ? I had this error with a new setup, but the .json are where they should be... 

 

However I don't see "Skyrim" mentioned in it, could it be the issue ? I don't see solitude or wyrmtooth either :/

I think I remember seeing a problem with a duplicated form ID before the end of the script, might be related ? But the log is lost somewhere out in space :/

DynDOLOD Worlds.pas didn't complete successfully and you report an in-game error message ... ?

 

FAQ: TES5Edit / TES5Edit\TES5Edit_log.txt: Any other script error while running DynDOLOD Worlds.pas

 

Is DynDOLOD.esp last in load order? Try again with default DynDOLOD.esp? Delete all old files in TES5Edit\Edit Scripts\ DynDOLOD\ and install only new files from latest DynDOLOD archive. If problem persists post error report with contents of TES5Edit\TES5Edit_log.txt to https://forum.step-project.com/topic/5011-dynamic-distant-objects-lod-dyndolod

hey guys i made a thread up cuz im having serious issues trying to get this thing to work. im gona ask again in this thread since i just found it.. but basicly im on MO  iv follow the steps to the point were i have to open tes5edid and right click DynDOLOD and apply script..and this is as far as i can go. when i change it to DynDOLOD worlds and try to click ok. i get a DynDOLOD help box pop up..and i close it and nothing has happend. tes5edit ses this

FAQ: Skyrim: DynDOLOD can not read data from *.json / DynDOLOD can not find master data in *.json

Copy Meshes, Textures and SKSE (which includes the *.json files) from the output directory to the game directory. Make sure these files and DynDOLOD.esp are in sync from the same generation process. Can also be a save game update gone wrong. Test with new game.

In my case, it couldn't read it because I was viewing the error message from within a tavern.  Further reading educated me that the error was local, and wouldn't be there if I'd walked outside.

 

That said, I was looking for errors because I couldn't walk outside.  I was getting an ILS, which I eventually corrected by moving my skse.ini file down to an SKSE folder (as the STEP instructions plainly told me).

 

So, yeah.  Guess that was on me.

 

All of my attempts to "fix" the issue then lead to the esp not matching the files somehow.  I then checked out the update process detailed here:

Golly.  Guess I'll start a new game.

 

Sheson owns my firstborn and Elianora is a hell of a modder, but this is, in fact, rocket science.

I wasn't reporting anything, just asking what else could cause the message to appear if the .json are where they're supposed to be ^^

I guess I'll just have to assume that it's because Skyrim / Tamriel isn't referenced in there. (Seems fair)

 

 

About the error itself, the log wasn't lost acutally, it just didn't got updated (because of the exception ? maybe). After re-doing everything from scratch on the same setup :

 

Using xEdit 180815, fresh install

DynDOLOD 1.44, fresh install

No error with texgen, output re-inserted in the virtual data folder via MO

Start with unedited DynDOLOD.esp loaded last

Generating with non-advanced settings, medium, only on Tamriel wrld

==> Duplicated formID on 0000BCDA

Path :  [00] Skyrim.esm \ Worldspace \ 0000003C \ Block 1, -1 \ Sub-Block 4, -3 \ 0000BCDA

 

Same error as posted in the previous post.

 

This happens right after HearthfireChimneys.esp is loaded. Log got updated this time : https://pastebin.com/A0vpwzJZ

 

Currently retrying without HearthfireChimneys.esp

That folder may have permissions issues.  Probably shouldn't be under Steam.  Should be some work area, like your desktop, then moved into your Mod Organizer mods folder.

Click "OK" instead of closing the info box to continue to the next screen where you also can set the output folder to something else.

i really am confused about this...i checked my skyrim folder and it was set to read only not sure what this meens but ..i unticked the read only box it took ages to finaly finish.thinking it might of fixed my issue but  still same thing is happening.. plus im  getting an elivated message when trying to run tes5edit through MO. but not when i try to just run Tes5edit without MO...  thinking it might be something to do with MO.   i tryd using nmm to see if it would work that way.and copying  just the mods needed but the same  thing happens.  iv tryd making an output folder in the c: iv tryd having tes5edit  just in the c: and i stil lget this stupid message in tes5edit

theres is no button saying ok its just a box that ses this

Carefully read any messages. Do not save changes to DynDOLOD.esp unless the process was succesfull. in case somthing unexpected happens, check the last few lines of the log. in many cases the FAQ will provide help.

Change the windows font scaling back down to 100% then.

do you meen in display settings??if so iv allready tryd changing it from 300% and there is no change. i should allso mention that for some resson the screen size for tes5edit is extreamly small regardles of changing the scaling..even when lowring my 4k screen to 1080p.

Edit : Oh, if this help : the duplicated form wasn't overriden by any of the plugins in the loadorder, single record was in skyrim.esm

Technically the ok and cancel button are drawn last and never pushed "out" of the visible window. Probably set default windows font and size.

I am using windows 7 and none of the later disasters. The font scaling in 7 goes up to 100/125%/150% and it is fine for all three. So no clue what else to do.

ok for some resson i had to sigh out first before the scaling would take effect in tes5edit.. but its so dam small..anywayz im having another problem now... i hope you can help me further ..  its the elivated message. from now on when i try to run tes5 edit through MO i get that elivation requierd message that pops up..before i would click ok ..and tes5 would load..now however tes5 dose not show up on my desktop..i see it in the bottem as an icon..but its not showing at all in my desktop.yet its running and when i hover over the icon in the bottem  with my mouse i see the screen..yet clicking  it dose not show it.. any idea whats going on? im on windows 10

update...its workign now..tes5 anywaz. havent tryd to apply script yet will do that now.. dunno why but for some resson when i had my res set to 1080p it owuld not display tes5edit...so meny wierd problems..o well. hopfully it works now.
