7hr08ik Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 AutoSave Manager https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34842 Ive been running Skyrim Revisited. I followed the SR installation fully, and took off the auto + quicksaves. But i missed the ability to save quickly and easily. This mod is great for that. I have mine setup so create manual saves on Rest, Quest completion, Dungeon Cleared, and Character lvl up. Ive got manual save set to F6 and turned off its autosave, and incremental save features. (I have no idea if they work, or how they work) It gives you loads of options for saving, and from what i can see in Tes5Edit, it has no confilcts at all. With this i can just hit F6 get a quicksave effect but the mod create a full manual save. Only thing is when the timed save occurs the game pauses for a spliut second (could just turn the timed save off)
Vond Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Been using this as well, as all Beth's games have the same issues with quick/auto saves, mods like these are a necessity. Works very well and can be set up to use manual saves rather than the quicksave format, and also as you said there's zero conflicts. I'd recommend it for anyone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Omolong Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Yep, I've been using this as well. Very customizable, and very useful. No problems at all.
torminater Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Same for me. With the 3GB ram ctd and other instabilities involved playing a severely modded skyrim a tool like this is a necessity
jakeslim Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Hello I'd be curious to hear what other people here think about this mod. Is there a reason it isn't in STEP?
rootsrat Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 I use it and I like it, it saves me quite a lot of time ;) The reason it's not in STEP is that it's neither a fix, nor a vanilla improvement.
hellanios Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 What MCM configuration do you use for this mod?
rootsrat Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Can't remember now, but I can provide screenshots when I'm back home.
hellanios Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Can't remember now' date=' but I can provide screenshots when I'm back home.[/quote']That would be nice. Maybe more members could answer my question....
WilliamImm Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 If autosaves/quicksaves were as buggy or broken as they were in Oblivion or in both Beth-developed Fallouts, then this mod would be needed.
jakeslim Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 If autosaves/quicksaves were as buggy or broken as they were in Oblivion or in both Beth-developed Fallouts' date=' then this mod would be needed.[/quote']This was the reason for my initial question - I don't know any of the technical details, but I knew of the problems with Oblivion's auto/quicksaves, and have read in several places that these still exist with Skyrim. Are you saying this isn't the case? (that would be brilliant, obviously) What would be the advantages then of using this mod? Just having more control over the autosave process?
DoYouEvenModBro Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I just keep Skyrim's Autosave feature enabled. Works fine for me. I used this for Fallout: New Vegas though.
Sniflheim Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I have yet to see any concrete proof that autosaves or quicksaves have the capacity to get corrupted from overwrites. I do use the console to save but usually I just overwrite as I go and make backups now and then. Never had any issues.
gamingsrc Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I use this mod but only to replace vanilla F5 quicksave to "auto-save" (manual), setting auto-save disabled in the mod. I moved vanilla quicksave key to F7. Note. As said the others, if Skyrim auto-save/quicksaves may potentially lead to corrupt saves, this have to be proven.
Octopuss Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I just accidentally found this mod on Nexus and think I really should give it a shot. For some reason autosave doesn't seem to work for me at all, and the fAutosaveEveryXMins=??? ini setting doesn't do anything, and I have a nasty habit of forgetting to save all the time.
