I am a huge music fan. I love music, in any form. I am not really into mainstream stuff, it literally annoys me.

I love to discover new stuff however, so I though I will start this thread so we can all share the music we like, the music that means something to us, that moves us or just keeps us entertained :)

So here it goes, one of my favourite singers EVER, David Sylvian. He's not only a singer, he's also a writer, and all his lyrics have this special kind of poetic expression that moves something inside me. He certainly knows how to put the words together in beautiful and very meaningful way. He's been in the music business from the 80s, but I've only disovered him by accident a few years ago. One of most important musical discoveries of my life so far! Hope you will enjoy these couple of tracks, first one is by Nine Horses - David Sylvian's project with Burnt Friendman (another great musician from Germany), and the second one is Sylvian solo project.

Feel free to post your own favourite tracks & artists, if you can share some info too!

Incase anyone is into metal, here is a fan-uploaded video of one of my old bands songs (this is from 2004, so not exactly new stuff and band doesn't exist anymore) accompanied by clips from the movie The Seventh Seal (much older than 2004!):

For those finding that a bit "too much", here is another fan made vid for the latest project, released earlier this year. If I had to describe it, it's more post-rock/shoegaze/atmospheric metal. Unlike previous song it's also in English rather than Swedish:

Hopefully the links work as I just copied over from the mobile YouTube links and changed to www, otherwise I'll fix them later Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

Edit: Fixed the links so they embed properly, and adding this as well since it's a song I've always felt would've fit perfectly in a Skyrim tavern. Not involved in this band myself in any way but know the members. The track is the outro from one of their albums and quite different from everything else they do (viking metal):

I've heard the name but can't recal if I know any of the music ... that first track is very good. I liked it immediately. The second is more an acquired taste for me ... very early-eighties.

I like pretty much anything but RAP, I like some Hip-Hop but not much. I like most Dubstep but not all, I'm really into Indie(or formerly Indie) artists atm some of the ones I'm watching have done covers of songs that I like better than the originals.

This next guy is good too but his voice isn't quite suited to the song he still does a pretty amazing job of it

@phazer: Lindsey Stirling have done some excellent covers for nerds for sure. :) I love this Zelda-medley for example:

And to post some more music that I have no personal connection to whatsoever unlike my previous post, I'll follow the nerd-theme and post this song. It's simply amazing.

And since it's a Skyrim forum I guess I can post something slightly related to Skyrim too, as it's a version of a FF6 song arranged by Jeremy Soule (TES4/5 composer)

Same thing goes here. Song is from Guild Wars 2, composed by Jeremy Soule. And I suppose most people into Skyrim knows of Malukah too anyway...

And finally, something less nerdy but equally good:

Throwing in one last amazing song. The quote in my signature is taken from this band, a band that has spanned so many musical genres it's hard to remember them all ;) From pure acoustic norse-folk to black metal with anything inbetween, including this. Close your eyes and enjoy!
