Question

Posted

Figured it might not be a bad idea to just start a general SR support thread for help since the feedback thread is focused on actual SR feedback. I'll start this off.

So was playing earlier today, then went and made today's latest changes:

- Updated Lanterns of Skyrim to use Realistic Lighting Overhaul optional preset.

- Added SkyTEST - Realistic Animals and Predators. Removed More Village Animals and Roosters At Dawn

- Updated Apahii Skyhair Natural Retexture.

I also added Grass on Steroids and it's associated INI changes.

I now CTD every time on the menu load. I reversed the INI changes, unloaded SkyTest and Grass on Steroids and still CTD.

What would be the first steps I should in debugging this?

Thanks!

Thanks. Out of interest has Neovalen ever stated why immersive weapons isnt in the guide?

The content is not up to my quality standards. If it gets a makeover like Immersive Armors did then it may get included.

Hey, sorry for commenting even though I have another thread but I still have the same problem. I CTD everytime I interact with the starting bed unless the place takes me to Raven Rock

Sorry for the newb' question but do I have to do anything about all the "Mod Dependencies" and "Overrides" indicated in the guide or is it just for information? Thanks.

Just information.

Thank you! For your answer and for your crazy work. I'm new here and I find the guide to SR:LE a really intelligible and good way to learn the basics about the modding of Skyrim and whatnot.  ::):

I'd like to ask you another question though: once I will have finished installing SR:LE, should I try to keep it up to date now and then or should I just play and forget about it? Thanks.

Your call, really. If everything's stable and you're happy with all the slicing, dicing, shocking, frying and freezing you're doing, just keep on punching with what you're doing, and only update between playthroughs.

Or if you're one who has to have the most up to date everything, (Like this little black duck) check in every so often and see if mods have updated and/or Neo's added new stuff.

Thanks Nozzer66.  ::):

I have another doubt concerning the install of SR:LE though. I just installed Climates of Tamriel and then merged its optionals and the Falskaar patch together. But then the TES5 merging guide recommends to:

Uncheck the source mods in the left pane of Mod Organizer as they are now included in the new mod folder. However, if there are other plugin files such as a .ESM not included the merge they must be manually copied to the new merged mod.

Does that mean that I have to copy the "ClimatesofTamriel.esm" (through windows explorer copy/paste?) to the merged mod and then deactivate the original? Or should I just activate the original mods ClimatesofTamriel but put in "optionals ESP" (through MO) the 2 optionals .esp now included in the merged file?

Thanks.

That depends, if your like me and installed CoT as three separate line items:

Climates of Tamriel

Climates of Tamriel - Dawnguard

Climates of Tamriel - Dragonborn

Falskaar - Climates of Tamriel Patch

Then it will leave the original CoT mod active as it doesn't contain any of the merged plugins (and thus its files were not copied).

If you merged them together when installing, then yes you need to copy the esm manually.

Thank you for your answer Neovalen, sadly I installed them all merged together. If I copy the esm in the "TES5Edit merged" folder, BOSS tells me that this esm is missing and I should have a CTD... Can't I just put in "optionals ESP" (through MO) the 2 optionals .esp and let the original mod ticked?

You can do that as well.

Cool.

Another question: in the Clutter and Miscellaneous part of your tuto, you give a link to the latest version of the "Animated Dwemer Lift Load Doors" package and inside there is two folders : "Animated Dwemer Lift Load Door.zips" and "Animated Dwemer Lift Load Doors for Dragonborn DLC.zip".

You don't give any recommendation but I guess I should use the Dragonborn version, right?

Thanks.
