Dedalo Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 (edited) Hello, I just downloaded the first mod listed under the mod category 02 Extenders and used the option on Nexus Mods to download directly to the mod manager (Mod Organizer 2). The files (one .zip and one .meta) get downloaded to the expected location in my drive (C:\Users\(my_username)\AppData\Local\ModOrganizer\Step SkyrimSE v2.3\downloads), but nothing else happens. I mean, I'm kind of expecting that the installation starts automatically or at the very least to receive some indication of what to do next in Mod Organizer, but nothing else happens. Is that the expected behavior? I guess not. What should I do next? Edited September 20, 2025 by Dedalo
Dedalo Posted September 20, 2025 Author Posted September 20, 2025 (edited) I've seen that there is a downloads tab to the right of the Plugins tab and that the downloaded mod appears there. I can right click on the file and install it from there, but then this pops up (please, see the attached screenshot). What option must I pick there? P. S. I don't know if I did good, but I just picked the second option ("Disable"). Then I continued installing the mods of the "02 Extenders" category. Edited September 20, 2025 by Dedalo

When MO is configured correctly with the Nexus API, you download mods from Nexus using the "Mod manager download" button, and they will appear in Downloads tab in the right pane of MO. Right click to get the context menu for install, etc. You can sort mods in Downloads (and pretty much everywhere in MO) by clicking the column to sort ascending (click again to sort descending). I usually sort descending by Filetime so my latest downloads are up top. 2 hours ago, Dedalo said: I've seen that there is a downloads tab to the right of the Plugins tab and that the downloaded mod appears there. Dedalo Posted September 21, 2025 Author Posted September 21, 2025 (edited) z929669 Thank you. Now I am facing a problem. I've already installed all the mods in the 02 Extenders category following the instructions provided in the guide. I have also configured the SKSE launcher in Mod Organizer as instructed. The problem comes when I launch SKSE from within Mod Organizer to quickly test that the game runs OK. Immediately upon launching SKSE, I get this error window. The two other screenshots correspond to the SSE Engine Fixes mod filetree in MO and the suspicious .dll shown in Windows Explorer. P. S. By the way, the instructions provided in the guide for installing the SSE Engine Fixes would benefit from an update. As you can see in the last screenshot, the part 1 and part 2 downloads that the guide tells us to install have been moved to the Old files section in the mod page on Nexus Mods. Yeah, that mod has had a flurry of recent updates, and they changed the file names in this latest iteration. You probably installed the wrong version. I've updated our instructions, so remove the mod from MO (in the left pane, right click, select 'Remove'). You may also want to remove the downloads in the right pane. Also remove the DLL from the game folder. Reinstall using the updated instructions. I assume you are following the guide and are on the 'Smoke Test" piece. This is a limited test, and you shouldn't be launching the game other than as instructed here until much later during Performance Tuning.

The mod replaced with the right version and the "Smoke Test" successfully passed. Thank you very much for the help and for updating the instructions for the SSE Engine Fixes mod so quickly. 2
