z929669 Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 This is a no-brainer unless anyone can report issues. Non I've seen when running it, but I haven't noticed the aurora 'stuck' issue myself in my testing other things.
z929669 Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Still awaiting to hear from anyone running this if it works as intended. I haven't experienced the problem (or noticed it in the past) and don't want to spend time trying to reproduce it, so I can't say. My game is running fine with this installed, but I'm not inclined to tag it for inclusion in 2.2.0 unless it gets some advocacy.
duy123a Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 This is a bug in the vanilla game, but it likely won't be found in the modded game due to the weather mods. You can't reproduce it by removing Cathedral Weather mod.
DoubleYou Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 I suspect that as long as the weather you're transitioning to has an aurora attached to it, this bug won't happen.
CorneliusC Posted December 9, 2022 Author Posted December 9, 2022 (edited) Although i introduced this mod, i never experienced this very specific bug before, i just thought this might be a sensible precautionary fix for something you'd rather not want to happen in your game. In the meantime the MA updated the description a bit to be a bit more 'descriptive' ... What i don't understand is how using a weather mod could fix this issue by themselves, maybe lowering a probability of the bug happening by employing different auroras? I have no idea about these mechanics. Edited December 9, 2022 by CorneliusC

I have no idea about these mechanics. It makes sense that a weather mod with auroras would resolve the vanilla issue, since it's replacing that functionality ... I hadn't considered that. I agree that we probably don't even need this mod (less is more in that case). Unless anyone experiences this issue, we can probably exclude this from consideration. I will leave it tagged as testing for now in case there is a revelation in the next few days.

But, like Cornelius, I have never experienced the bug, so I wouldn't know if the bug is fixed or not. I didn't experience any adverse effects with it installed though. I guess it is handy for people who do experience the bug, but otherwise it more of a "take it leave it" mod.
DoubleYou Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 I will say that I have entered Appocrypha and left several times using Cathedral Weathers, and never saw the issue, but that doesn't mean it is not a valid bug and fix. The weather record contains a special field to define auroras. My guess is you would trigger this bug by visiting Appocrypha and exiting into an exterior cell where a weather without a defined aurora is active. This is just a guess however.
