Thanks for the explanation guys, that was rough lol.

I didn’t validate until after the weirdness. So I’m wondering if what triggered this was running bethini pie through mo2 for the first time, because up until that point I was still following the old instructions with bethini to close mo2 before running it, then read that it should be run through mo2, and then boom.

Mo2 definitely got funky after that so I ended up reinstalling everything including Skyrim.

i was able to find that info on the ini setting and fixed it. I appreciate the explanation so I understand how that happened.

On a happier note, modlist is rebuilt, just need to do all the wrap up stuff.

Not sure if this has been reported before. It's more of a small annoyance than a bug really.

These values became "dirty" apparently after I just did a search in the advanced tab. No values have actually changed as you can see, only the zero decimals have been removed.

To reproduce:

- Open Bethini Pie

- Go to Advanced tab and search for anything, e.g. "grass" and press Enter

- Go to any other tab, and then quit (it doesn't happen if you just quit while on the Advanced tab)

Hello! Maybe someone can help this idiot (me) . I don't usually use Vortex but I wanted to install a Collection and, well. So I grabbed the Bethini Pie and Vortex installed it to the .../common/Starfield/Bethini Pie folder, I went down to the bottom of Vortex which shows Starfield Script Extender, Creation Kit, Bethini Pie, etc shortcuts and edited the Bethini Pie one to point to the Bethini.exe . Clicked on the shortcut and Bethini Pie upchucked with an out of range error. - Screenshot of the Error - How do I fix this? I didn't see anything in this post about that error. Thank you for your time.

First, I don't think BP officially supports any mod managers specifically aside from MO. I'll wager it's possible to install and run BP through Vortex, but it probably would require some manual configuration. Our team uses MO, so we are not well versed in how Vortex works. I played with Vortex a couple of years ago to explore Collections, but I lost interest, due to Vortex asset-conflict management (and other things) being a PITA compared to MO. I forget if I got BethINI working or not. If you really want to know why it's not working, review/post its log file ("/BethINI Pie/logs/<latestDatetimeFolder>/log.log").

BP should be installed as a stand-alone app into your modding tools location into its own folder beside other tool folders like xEdit, LOOT, DynDOLOD, etc. In MO, you just add the BP executable and you're good to run through MO ("BethINI Pie" only ...the old 'BethINI' didn't run through MO natively). The MO VFS places all instance/profile-specific modding assets in their native paths (as if no mod manager were used), so it just works. With mod managers outside of MO (or no mod manager), BP should be used as a standalone app just like any other. It's 'smart' enough to find your game path and INIs, I think. See this GamerPoets vid for an overview of general installation and the extra step if using MO. Pay close attention to how to configure the game and game INI paths on BP launch.

If I were running Vortex, I would first install BP standalone and modify my game INIs. Then I would install Vortex and configure it for that game so I know it's using my BP-modified game INIs. Once Vortex is installed, I forget where it installs its basis for each game (and game INIs) or if it uses the base game folder for all vanilla files like INIs. It probably doesn't though and probably uses copies of volatile game assets like game INIs into something like a 'profile'. Once you know for sure where the game INIs are for your Vortex game instance, you can simply point BP to that INI location, and it should work fine.

You're not generally supposed to install Bethini Pie inside of a mod manager. It is a tool. It should be installed as a tool. The error message picture is insufficient to diagnose the problem. Only the log would be useful to see the real cause.
