What exactly does STEP does not recommend extracting BSAs mean?

Am I supposed to be clicking "Manual" on certain mod installations and unticking the .bsa files if they exist?

Once again I think I asked this question too soon. I did some more in-depth research, and it seems that BSA extraction is going to the "Archives" tab in MO2 and right clicking the BSA to actually "extract" it. If any noobs like myself come across this, here is some further reading:

There is little need to ever extract BSAs nowadays, unless you need to modify the files contained within.
