Crashes and freeze induced by bBackgroundLoadCells=1

Question

Posted (edited)

Game version: Skyrim LE

Mods:

- iHUD

- TK Hitstop

- Attack Commitment

- UNP

uGridsToLoad=5
uInterior Cell Buffer=6
uExterior Cell Buffer=36
iPreloadSizeLimit=26214400

CrashFixPlugin.ini setting:

UseOsallocator=1

AlignHeapAllocate=1

CustomMemoryBlock=1

CustomMemoryBlockTotalSizeMb=26 (around 60~80% usage showed in console)

SKSE memory fix setting:

DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768 (default)
ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 (default)

Enboost setting:

ExpandSystemMemoryX64=false
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=false
DisablePreloadToVRAM=false
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=1024
VideoMemorySizeMb=4482
EnableCompression=true
AutodetectVideoMemorySize=false

Upon multiple testing sessions using speedmult 1200 method, it seems that setting bBackgroundLoadCells=1 would grantee producing crashes/freezes within 10 mins.

With bBackgroundLoadCells=0 the game is much more stable with no crashes (at least within multiple 10 mins test sessions).

This is NOT conclusive however, merely an observation on my end. THE CAUSAL CONNECTION IS NOT ESTABLISHED.

Worth a try if you wanna eliminate all potential causes of crashes! Give it a go and see for yourself.

My guess is that there is a problem in one or more of your cells, and by disabling loading cells in the background, that particular cell or cells are not being loaded, and therefore not crashing.
